“Chris is an excellent host & a great guy. Just by talking to him, you'll come to learn the kind of observation he makes about dogs & level of care he provides. He shared good feedback about our dog and gave me a couple of tips/ideas through our conversations and I intend to make those happen. He also sent photos every day with small and funny messages to go with; which made the kids happy while our family was away on a trip. If you're reading these reviews and considering Chris, we highly recommend him! Thanks, Chris for taking care of Rubble!”

“We had such a great experience with Lisa! This was our first time boarding Nelson and we were nervous going in, but within a few hours we could tell he was in the best hands. We couldn’t believe she got our usually pretty mellow dog out hiking and to farmers markets — stuff we never expected him to do! It was so clear he trusted her and had a blast, and he came home with the biggest smile. She kept us updated the whole time and communicated so well before and during the visit. We’ll 100% be booking with her again!”

“Chloe, thanks for watching our pups while we were traveling! They came back happy and tired from all the walks and playtime they got with you and your family. We’re already looking forward to coming back!”

“Sammy must have had a great time at their place, as he was super tired at the end of the day and slept through whole night without any more play time or treats. Note: Sammy is a high energy dog and doesn’t get tired easily. He does 4-5 mile walks everyday and still needs more play time. Another thing to note about Sammy: he has a tendency to mark at new places. We specifically gave bellybands with him. But somehow they managed to keep him off bellybands and off marking their place. Which is amazing! Sammy will definitely visit them again many times, and I can’t recommend them enough! Thank you Xiaoshan & Xiuli for taking care of Sammy!”

“My dog was well taken care of. She seemed happy to have spent time in such a wide open space. Eryn was great at sending photos and reporting on my dog's condition. We will try and us”

“We don’t love leaving our four legged buddy behind… But when we need to, we have total confidence in Courtney! She takes such good care of him! He’s a pretty anxious dog, but never anxious with her and never has any recovery time when he comes home from being in her care. She gives me regular updates and photos which also puts my mind at ease.. She’s a gem!!”

“Rocky had a great time as confirmed by the photos. He even seemed reluctant to come home with us in the car. Rocky is looking forward to his next stay with Jeanne and Ivy.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Bryan and his mom! They took such great care of my dog Neo during his stay. Being the only dog in the house really helped him relax and get all the attention he needed. They shared videos every day, which gave me peace of mind and see how happy and comfortable Neo was. It was clear they spent a lot of time playing with him indoor and outdoor. We're extremely grateful for their care and would absolutely book with them again! Highly recommend! 🐾”

“Kathy and Jeff took such great care of our dog that our only concern was how she’d react to coming home. She was busy busy busy! She had tons of opportunities to be social, she got a lot of exercise and Kathy even helped us narrow down foods that she isn’t tolerating well. We got updates as much as we wanted and I know Dory has been well loved.”
“My dog Zoe had a great stay with Vanessa, and I had a great experience too! Vanessa was quick to respond to my messages as we planned the stay, and she sent me lots of updates and photos while Zoe was with her. I would definitely use Vanessa again in the future and recommend her to other dog owners!”
“Our dog Maggie loved staying with Ingrid! Maggie doesn’t much like other dogs or animals but loves people and laps. Maggie was treated to plenty of walks and we had daily updates which were much appreciated. Ingrid’s set up and attention fit the bill!”

“Bodhi has the BEST time with Ketaki. I could not ask for better care. She is absolutely amazing-taking Bodhi for regular walks, giving him so much love and sending me great updates all the time! Your pup would be lucky to stay with her! 🩷🩷🩷”

“Amazing experience with Tomas. He was super communicative, thorough, and sent us tons of pictures. Incredibly nice and thoughtful guy who clearly loves animals and is educated on how to properly care for them. Our dog Goose came home in amazing spirits before plopping on the couch and snoring the night away. We will definitely be booking again. Thank you!”

“Lexi watched our dog, Dennis, while we were away for a long weekend. She was easy to book and communicative, and he came home happy and tired! We would love to use her services again.”

“Our Golden Retriever, Ziggy, has stayed with Jessica and her family 3x now and always is happy, healthy, and well cared for. Great communication with Jessica and frequent picture updates. We love that Ziggy becomes a part of the family when he stays over. Definitely would recommend Jessica.”

“Jean takes great care of my dog Millie, sending fun pictures and videos of her stay. Millie has stayed multiple times and it is nice to know she is well cared for..”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Barneston home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Barneston.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Barneston sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
