“Rhonda was awesome! She took wonderful care of our dog and 3 cats while we were gone. We're already looking at her availability for next year so we can leave and feel totally comfortable leaving our pets in her care.”

“Spent lots of time with my kitties was just what the doctor ordered! They are so needy and lovey and Rob gave them the attention they desired. They are also usually weary of men but not Rob, they were completely comfortable hanging out together.”

“Cassie does a great job with our elderly cat. She also was GREAT with my daughter's rescue cat who can be unpredictable, especially with new people! Both cats were happy campers when we returned home!”

“We could not be more pleased with how wonderful Paula was with our German Shepherd! We highly recommend Paula to anyone who needs an a pet sitter! Not too many people I know can handle a big German Shepherd and she did an amazing job, taking such good care of him! Our boy Maui loved her from the moment he met her and that says a lot, because if Maui doesn't like you, he will let you know! Paula also keeps you updated daily with professional looking photos, she has an eye for photography as well! What a relief it was for us to be able to find Paula, as we are newer to the area and do not have family close by to help. I would give her a 100 stars!”

“Kay is always fantastic with my dog, cat, and my home. She is very knowledgeable and makes sure my babies are taken care of. She always goes above and beyond even when there is a huge ice storm and the power goes out!! I highly recommend!”

“Stacie was great with our pups. She provided regular updates and made sure Bella was as comfortable as possible during a heavy rain storm. Would definitely recommend Stacie.”

“This was our first time ever using Rover, and to say we were nervous would be an understatement. After meeting Caitlyn, though, we immediately felt at ease. She is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about the animals she watches. We have two dachshunds with very different personalities. Newton is outgoing, but Augustus is much more cautious and takes time to warm up to new people. Caitlyn respected his space from the very beginning, and before long he was curled up next to her in bed! Seeing him trust someone outside of our family meant everything to us. Throughout our trip she kept us updated with plenty of photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was obvious our boys were happy, comfortable, and well cared for while we were away. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better first Rover experience. We would absolutely trust Caitlyn with Augustus and Newton again and will definitely be booking with her in the future. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our boys! ❤️🐾”

“Wehad a meet and greet with Ami before the actual booking and I just knew she was the right fit for Kevin. We had great communication while I was gone and she sent me the cutest pictures as well. If you are looking for a reliable sitter, look no further than Ami! We will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Robyn took great care of my two dogs and they had a wonderful weekend hanging with her at my home. Robyn’s dog also joined and was very friendly to my dogs, who can sometimes be wary of other dogs. I got lots of pictures and videos and was able to enjoy my weekend away knowing the dogs were getting lots of pets and snuggles!”

“Mikki was the best! Our pets were well taken care of, our house was cleaner than we left it, and we received communication and updates daily. Absolutely would recommend and will book with again!”

“Blaise was great! She kept in contact with me and sent me multiple pictures. She followed all instructions for Athena’s care. We are so thankful that Athena was cared for by such a caring person. Athena absolutely loved Blaise!”

“Erin was great with Rowan! She showed up on time was very communicative and sent pictures! We had a great experience with her watching him and our home. Rowan is still in training and she followed his rules and worked with him to continue his training! We will use again and you will be happy with Erin, she is great with dogs!”

“Sean did a wonderful job and treated the boys so good. Our dogs are a little difficult and one of them is very shy. Sean was able to create a quick bond with him and they loved him! Will be using him again.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 11yo. I’ve cared for Australian Shepherds, Poodles, Rat Terriers, Cairn Terriers, Papillions, Irish Wolfhounds, Pit Bulls, Bichon Frisés, and more. I have four dogs now: German Shepherd Mix, German Shorthaired Pointer, and two Pembroke Corgis. I’m familiar with small and large dogs. I’m non-judgmental and understanding if your baby has separation-anxiety. I work 8AM to 4PM Monday through Thursday, but am free to watch your babies in the evening and Friday through Sunday. I provide drop-in visits and house-sitting. I have a fenced-in yard, two crates and four dogs all ready to be their new best friend! I do prefer to watch them in your home, not mine as I have one dog that isn’t the most friendly.
“Diana took amazing care of our dog Max! She was communicative and kept us updated, made sure he was happy and comfortable. We felt at ease knowing Max was in such good hands. Highly recommend!”

“Jericho was great with my two pups! They were so worn out when I get home after spending a weekend with her. She was great at communicating. Will definitely use her again.”

“Alexis always takes amazing care of my pup, he loves playing with her and her dog Riley, they are the best of friends! She is courteous and respectful of my house and I always can travel worry free knowing my pup is in great hands until I come home. Highly recommend!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Megan! It gave us such peace of mind knowing our dogs were being loved and well cared for while we were away. Communication was excellent, and we received regular updates and photos, which made us feel even more comfortable. It was obvious our dogs were happy, safe, and treated like family. We will definitely use Megans’s services again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable pet sitter!”

We had a great experience with Cade! He took really good care of our cat, Lukas, while we were away for 4 days. He sent us photos and updates throughout the stay, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Lukas looked happy and comfortable. We really appreciated how reliable and communicative Cade was — would definitely recommend him!

Cade was great! My senior dog can be a little cautious around new people. She warmed up to him immediately which is always an indicator of a good human to me! He sent photos and updates. I knew the dogs were well taken care of and my house was just as I left it when I got home. 5 stars.

Violet by far exceeded our expectations for our first time using Rover. The house looked like we never left, and we were gone for 5 days. She sent pictures daily, she responded quickly whenever I reached out, and she took good care of our fur babies. They all seemed very comfortable in her presence. From day one, we knew Violet would be a good pick for us. We hope we have an opportunity to book with her again in the future!

Violet was amazing. I came home to a clean house and a very happy dog. Violet was very good at communicating and sending pictures. I even had neighbors approach me to let me know that my dog was very happy on her walks and that Violet was really good with her. I have already recommended her to a coworker and I will absolutely use her services again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Castalian Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Castalian Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Castalian Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Castalian Springs. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
