“My dog Cookie was well taken care of. Nikkole listened to my concerns, vet's suggestions, and what works best for my dog, and goes above and beyond! Cookie was so well taken care of in my absence, and he came home so healthy and happy. I will definitely be taking him back and am thankful to her for treating my dog as one of her own.”

“Leslie was lovely to work with and she took great care of our pup! She sent updates/photos, took suzie on lots of walks, and suzie came back to us healthy and happy. Already booking with her again!”

“If I could give Kathie 10 stars I would!!!! I cannot express enough how thoughtful, loving and caring Kathie is towards our dog! She went the extra mile when caring for Bogey and we are so grateful! If you are considering Kathie to care for your pet... BOOK HER! Thanks SO MUCH Kathie!❤️”

“Marlena and her family took wonderful care of Donut while we were hiking at Mount Rainier. They sent frequent updates and treated him like one of their own. Donut clearly had a great time with them, and we would absolutely book with them again!”

“If you’re looking for the right person to take care of your dog while you’re gone, and still have peace of mind, get Mariko. We appropriate her so much! Regular updates of Dart, our English Golden Retriever- through videos and photos. She poured a lot of love and affection and care. We couldn’t ask for more. Thank you, Mariko! We are glad we found you!”

“Kristine is awesome, got stuck in a snow storm traveling back. Kristine was very understanding. I’m very grateful I could leave my mooch with someone so wonderful. He enjoyed his stay!”

“Juli, my very enthusiastic standard poodle, loves staying with Jeanne and her dog Ivy. As soon as we turn the corner on to Jeanne’s street, Juli knows where she is going and the excitement begins. She has stayed with Jeanne three times and always comes home happy and content. Jeanne is a very experienced dog person with particular knowledge about canine nutrition. Her house is set up for dogs; lots of beds on the floor and a very large backyard with free access in and out. There can be more than one canine quest at a time, so there is plenty of opportunity for socialization, play and exercise. It is wonderful to have a safe, loving, and fun place for my girl to stay when I go away. Jeanne is the best.”

“Our dog had a wonderful stay with Nari! Throughout the booking process and the stay itself, she was very friendly and responsive. We got lots of pictures of our pup playing with her two sweet dogs. We would absolutely book with her again when the situation arises!”

“Kristin was great to work with and she was very reliable and happy to have our dog in her home. She was very responsive and worked with us on any special needs for our dog. Kristin sent us pictures during the visit and kept us updated and was great about flexible drop off and pick up. We will definitely be using her again soon!”

“We needed a last minute sitter and Carol was very accommodating. We arranged a meet and greet at her home and brought our little poodle. Carols home was clean and set up nicely for dogs. She has a completely safe fenced-in yard. Carol provided pics and updates which was greatly appreciated by us since we are retired and have rarely left her with anyone besides family. Carol is kind and loves dogs. She was also very kind to us ( the nervous parents) which was appreciated.”

“Cookie has stayed with Sally & her family three time now, he enjoyed the stay and looks happy when I pick him up. Sally did good job taking care of Cookie and updated me with Cookie's photos every day. I'll use Sally again for sure. Thanks,”

“Ronak was great! Stepped up when I had an emergency and was able to keep him beyond the original booking. Kept me updated every day with pictures. My Max came back to me in great shape.”

“Tim was awesome!! My dog has really bad separation anxiety but Tim willingly provided for his needs and kept me updated on his condition at all times. He was super understanding of Max’s nervous behavior and kept him safe. I definitely recommend Tim for all your pet’s needs. My dog wouldn’t stop licking his face when we left Tim’s place. I will definitely be using his dog boarding services again and you should do as well.”

“Wilbur’s week-long stay with Charlotte was all around easy! We got video and photo updates that kept us reassured that he was a happy guy during his stay. Charlotte was also very considerate when our travel plans changed. We’d be happy to book with her again next time we travel.”

“Thanks for watching our pup while we were gone! We received some pictures and updates throughout her stay and she looked happy being there. We’ll definitely check back for future boarding needs.”

“We interviewed three different people before choosing care for Woody’s first stay outside of our family. Woody is 3 years old, leash-reactive, a little naughty and stubborn at times, but overall a very sweet, playful, and affectionate dog. We specifically needed someone confident and experienced—someone who could comfortably handle a strong leash puller, stand firm with his stubborn streak, and not be intimidated by the behaviors we openly shared ahead of time. Bryan immediately stood out. From our initial conversations and the meet-and-greet a few months before the stay, it was obvious how comfortable and experienced he is with dogs. He approached Woody calmly and confidently, walked him on leash with ease, and demonstrated a handling style that instantly put us at ease. He also asked thoughtful questions about Woody’s behaviors that showed both understanding and competence in managing dogs with quirks and challenges. Bryan and Peggy have a wonderful setup for dog care: a secure fenced yard, a clean and comfortable home, and a quiet neighborhood with wide sidewalks and plenty of space for walks. One thing we especially appreciated is that they only care for one dog at a time, which is uncommon and was exactly what we needed for our Velcro dog. They also have several green spaces within walking distance, which we loved. At drop-off, Bryan took inventory of Woody’s belongings, reviewed my notes, asked thoughtful questions, and spent time playing with Woody in the yard to help him feel comfortable before we slipped out. It made for a calm, low-stress transition, and we were impressed by the level of care and attention he showed from the very beginning. Throughout Woody’s stay, Bryan sent daily updates with photos and videos, along with notes about Woody’s temperament and how he was doing. As nervous dog owners leaving him for the first time, we greatly appreciated the communication and reassurance. Over the course of the six-night stay, we could visibly see Woody becoming more comfortable and playful with Bryan—fetching balls, wagging his tail, smiling, and zooming around the yard. Overall, we would absolutely feel comfortable having Woody stay with Bryan again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for calm, confident, experienced dog care. Excellent communication and exceptional care from start to finish.”

“The sweetest sitter ever!! 🥹💕 10/10, we absolutely loved our experience! She sent me so many adorable videos of our girls playing, which made me feel so comfortable knowing they were having the best time. She even sent them home with cute little bandanas and a bag of treats 🥹🎀 The sweetest, most thoughtful touch! Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of our babies and for being so responsive, flexible, and genuinely sweet to our girls. You can tell how much love and care she puts into what she does, and that means everything as a dog mom. We’ll absolutely be leaving both of our babies with her whenever we have a show in Tacoma! We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Highly, highly recommend!! 💕”

“Laurin was amazing. She was able to watch my dog on a last minute booking for a holiday weekend. It was his first time ever being cared for by someone other than friends and family and Laurin made sure that he was well taken care of and sent regular updates, he seemed to be right at home in her care. Plus her bulldog Bella, is extremely cute and friendly. I definitely plan to use her again and recommend her.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cascade Junction home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cascade Junction.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Cascade Junction sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
