About: We nicknamed our home The Dachs Inn - a weenie wonderland! We’ve cared for Dachshunds for 15 years and specialize in meeting the unique needs of this breed, including dog ramps on our furniture and deck. Our home features a dog door with all-day access to a giant backyard for potty breaks, play time, sunbathing and squirrels!!! Plush dog beds are placed through the home and a giant sectional provides the perfect spot for cuddle time. Daily walks are provided, we even have a dog stroller for senior dogs or those dachshunds suffering from IVDD. I work remotely from home full time and, along with my retired husband, provide hourly drop-in care, play dates, overnight and extended boarding in our home. Additionally, I provide home visits and walking services to families located on the west side of Colorado Springs. Other locations throughout Colorado are considered on case-by-case request for extended care in your home (5 or more days). I have three dachshunds, ages 15, 10, and under 1 year. My dog-friendly home has a fenced back yard, we feed all visiting dogs separately, and can provide daily pictures of your baby’s activities. I can also provide regular weigh-ins, medications, and teeth brushing. I am very active and love going on long walks/hikes (up to three miles) upon request. While I prefer to host only smaller dogs in our home, I am open to all breeds for care at your home - including drop-ins, walks, and house sitting. I kindly ask that all dogs are current on all vaccinations, including kennel cough. For medical emergencies, we are established at Westside Animal Hospital, The Animal Clinic of Woodland Park, and the Emergency Pet Center.

About: I have had pets my entire life, but as an adult only had dogs. I am a physical therapist by trade so I do have a health background. I have done insulin shots for a diabetic cat and ACL rehab for a dog. I have done bandages for small wounds from sharp rocks when hiking or a torn nail. Let me know your pups needs! I did Rover over the summer while ai was home and loved it! I do work outside my home, but my schedule and hours vary. If I need to check in on your pup or provide a snack, don’t hesitate to reach out. I do have some days where it can be 7-8 hours that I am gone, but I will let you know if that’s the case. I am married and the mom of 3 teen age girls who love dogs and want another one. They would love to cuddle, love and play with your dog while in my care! I will take your dog on daily walks with our dog pup and make sure they are happy! Our dog Tulsa loves other dogs and warms up quickly. She loves walks and hikes. She is not food aggressive at all but loves treats! Let me know what your pup needs. Tulsa is crated during our absence and I would prefer to do the same for your pup if we are out. When I am home, Tulsa gets free rein of the main floor and supervision in basement and upstairs for safety. She sleeps in my bedroom and night and I would do the same for your pup, or crate if that’s what you prefer. Tulsa is trained to ask to get on furniture but is sneaky sometimes. If your dog is allowed on furniture, we will allow that on our main sofa, but keep them off our front room sofa - it’s white. I can accommodate special diets and medication, but Tulsa does not have either of those.

Sarah had a few other dogs in the house and she let us come in and meet the pack/ watch Monkey meet them all. One of the dogs wasn't thrilled about the new member so we decided it was best to keep the pack split. Monkey had a blast playing with a new friend outside in the yard and inside, and Sarah sent me photos and a video which I loved :) I would definitely trust Sarah again to watch my baby girl!”

About: All of my experience has been from personal pets and pets of family/friends. My current dog, a 4 year old Samoyed named Nimbus, trained at Under the Sun and is very accepting of other dogs. I also have a three year old toddler who is great with animals. I am a stay at home parent and so I would always be here with your pet. I like to play in the backyard with the dogs and if you are comfortable with it, I could take your dog on leashed hikes. My dog has free reign of the house and yours would as well. If I did need to run a quick errand, then your dog would be welcome to join or nap with Nimbus! I am a stay at home parent for our toddler and so I would always be around. We’re have a 4 year old Samoyed who loves other dogs and would be thrilled to have a playmate. if your dog enjoys activities, then they would be welcome to come with us on quick errands and or leashed hikes. I would, of course choose activities based on your preferences. I just want to stress that your dog would be treated like part of our family! I know that I want our dog to be comfortable and happy when I’m not with him and I would make sure that yours is as well. My main focus for care is just spending time with them and making sure they are happy! I have a four year old Samoyed who loves playing in our fenced and secure backyard and going for hikes. If your dog enjoys those activities, we would love for them to join! If your dog is older and needs a more relaxed environment then we are happy to just spend time at home with them! I do have a toddler that is not yet in daycare and so visiting dogs that are comfortable around kids would bee important from our end. We spend many days at dog parks and so our daughter is comfortable and good with other dogs and cats.

About: I started my pet care journey fostering for an Upstate SC county humane society. I quickly found a niche helping them care for special needs animals; those with behavioral and/or health problems. I continued for years doing this until Covid and semi retiring in Colorado. This is when I decided to take formal training and received my CACTP. I then began working for two multi state dog rescues specializing in large breeds. I specifically focused on great Danes with Dunbar bite scale and rehab needs out of over 16 dogs. I was able to rehabilitate 14 although most of my formal experience is with large breeds, I do have decades of experience with medium and small breeds. I am very active with any dog in my care. Regardless of the weather, I will always find some form of exercise and behavioral training to work on daily. I am a corporate exec and an aviation consultant working on-site and remotely, here in Colorado Springs, CO. So I am home based and able to care for your pet on a flexible basis. My wife and I are empty nesters who live on the west side near Garden of Gods. I have a fenced yard, however, I frequently take animals under my care to dog parks, on walking trails, out to dog friendly errands/pubs, and/or to private/secluded “Sniffspot” areas with my own monthly subscription. We have no other pets, but have frequent deer and squirrel visitors.
