About: I’ve taken care of many types of animals over the years, from turtles, hamsters, up to horses and cows. I have 2 cats of my own, and also regularly take care of my mom’s dog. I love animals and would love to get to know you and your pet! I work remote, and can usually sneak out for a bit during the day. As long as there is some flexibility with drop in visits, i should be able to make up to 3 visits a day work for both cats or dogs (or other pets!). I have a fenced yard and 2 indoor cats, as well as my mom’s dog who i take care of regularly. I am an animal lover and care for animals deeply. I promise to treat your pets with care kindness and respect.
About: I've always loved animals and have been volunteering at a local animal shelter for the past 4 years, caring for dogs and cats of all kinds. I also have two dogs and a cat of my own, so I know how important it is to have someone you trust looking after your pets. I've been pet sitting for neighbors, friends, and family for years, and I treat every pet like they're my own. I'm also a Biology major on the pre-vet track, so I'm passionate about animal care and making sure every pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you're away! I'm currently working part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets. I'm available for drop-in visits and dog walking most weekdays (On Thursday and Friday it must be after 2 PM), as well as weekends. I always make time to give pets the attention, playtime, and care they deserve, and I'll keep you updated with photos and messages while you're away! Since I have pets of my own, I provide care in my clients' homes rather than boarding pets in mine. I know how important it is to keep your pet comfortable in their familiar environment, so I'll follow their routine as closely as possible. Whether it's feeding, walks, playtime, administering basic medications if needed, or just spending quality time with them, I'll treat your pets with the same love, patience, and respect that I give my own. My goal is for you to feel completely confident that your furry family member is safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away!
“Jen takes purrfectly good care of our 3 kitties. She is really good with our sassy, senior Kate. She administers thyroid meds to Kate twice/day. She is pawesome at sending updates. She really puts our mind at ease while we away.”
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats throughout most of my life. I have working knowledge of puppy training and I’m open to dogs with high energy. I currently work a full‑time job but I’m available for morning and afternoon drop‑ins during the week. I also offer weekend availability for drop‑in visits. I care for my pets by maintaining a structured, consistent routine, and I bring that same approach to caring for yours. I understand how important a predictable schedule is for your pet’s comfort and well‑being, and I’m committed to supporting that stability
“Matthew went above and beyond to care for our 3 cats. He followed instructions, but also brought in packages for us and cleaned the cats' dirty dishes which wasn't at all expected. I definitely recommend him!”

“Mamie was attentive, professional, and made us feel comfortable knowing our dogs were in good hands. She sent updates and photos promptly and was detailed in her report cards. We also have two large breeds, and she handled them with ease. I can’t recommend her enough! Our dogs loved her😊”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Carnegie
We were very happy having Mamie (Mary) care for our two cats! She is a great communicator, particularly when it comes to letting you know how it's going with your pets. We have a cat who is recovering from an injury and we could tell from meeting Mamie - and later from her updates - that he was in good, attentive hands! She also had to play hide-and-seek a bit to keep up with our more timid cat, but she caught onto his patterns. We're glad we were able to book her and would highly recommend!

Lauren was an absolute rockstar and I will 100% be hiring her again to look after my cat! I felt very comfortable with her from the beginning and appreciated that she came to the house for a meet and greet before I booked. Lauren sent me updates and pictures every day while we were away and even watered our plants. If you need a trustworthy and kind sitter, Lauren is the one to book.

Kathleen is so great with Lucy, who can be a shy anxious cat. She has been attentive to the specific requests I’ve asked her to report on to give me peace of mind while I’m away. I’m so happy to have found someone Lucy feels happy and safe with. Every day she’s sent me photos of a contented cat!

Alaska was amazing and made my first experience on Rover seamless! She was so communicative, from picking up keys beforehand to dealing with my less-than-sociable cat, I couldn't have asked for anyone better to look after my baby while I was out of town. I highly recommend booking her!

Caralyn was absolutely amazing!! She took excellent care of our two cats while we were away. She’s a great communicator, and sent us daily updates on how the girls were doing. We really appreciated her gentle, compassionate approach with them, and know they were well taken care of! We would definitely book Caralyn again :)

Stellar cat sitter!!! Kieran was super communicative before and during our trip and his pictures clearly showed that he was playing with / spending time with our kitties. Before our trip, he was kind enough to come pick up the keys and do a meet and greet with our cats - we immediately knew our kitties and home would be in good hands. He was also flexible, and allowed us to extend our trip last minute. We returned to a perfectly tidy home and happy kitties. We've used many cat sitters before and this was one of our best experiences!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Carnegie. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
