“Amanda did an amazing job keeping us updated about our cats while we were on vacation. We didn’t have to worry about them at all and we knew they were in good hands.”

“Jacqueline was amazing! She was very responsive from the first moment we reached out to her about booking, and we even had a meet and greet so our pup could get familiar with her in advance. Our pup has a lot of energy, and she always got creative with ways to give him mental stimulation and exercise — even if it was storming and he couldn’t go outside. She even offered to stay a little longer during visits to keep him company and make sure he was okay when he started having some tummy issues. I appreciate all the updates and photos she sent after each visit, and he always looked happy in every photo. I would highly recommend Jacqueline and would definitely book her again!”

“Katie is very thorough and respectful of my home. I can tell she cares about my dog even just checking in on him while I'm at work. Very detailed notes and follows instructions giving me for me special needs pooch. Will hire again”

“Mary watched my cat Binx for five days and was incredibly attentive and detailed in her check-ins which is always so appreciated. My boy can be picky about who he likes and he seemed to warm up to her quickly. Great communication and she definitely helped my peace of mind while I was away!”

“I have had such a great experience with Hannah taking care of my dog! Being a new dog owner, Hannah has eased my mind when I was away by keeping my dog happy, comfortable, playing with him, and giving him all the cuddles! She is very easy to communicate and schedule with and always keeps me updated about her visits with my pup. I’m glad that when I can’t be with my dog, Hannah is there to keep him company!”

“Lauren was fantastic! Throughout the process she was so thoughtful, kind and communicative. Lauren took the time to meet our girl Fig beforehand, and sent us detailed updates each day we were away. We had so much peace of mind knowing our baby was well taken care of!! We are so appreciative and would happily book Lauren again :)”

“Abby was fantastic with my special needs kitties! She offered to do a meet and greet before hand which was incredibly helpful and comforting. My girls are on several medications and Abby was able to administer them while I was gone. She made sure they had everything they needed and sent me detailed notes and photos every day. I will definitely be booking with Abby again!”

“We are so thankful to have found Kasey and Alyssa! They are amazing. Very warm and friendly and know what they are doing. Our dogs took to them immediately. We feel so relieved to have found a good fit for what we were looking for in help with drop-in visits (people who know and understand older dogs, who have great communication and are kind). We will definitely be making more repeat bookings. Thank you both for being PAWsome!🐾”

“Rylee did a great job with Dobby during her drop-in visit! He was happy, well taken care of, and I really appreciated the updates. Would definitely have her watch him again!”

“Myah did a wonderful job with our Stella! When I walked in, Stella was like "oh you're here," which is the perfect and desired response when any of us return. Stella should know she is safe at home and whoever walks through that door will take care of her. And Myah did very well, meeting our girl's needs in our neighborhood. Will definitely rebook!”

“Caralyn was an amazing sitter for me and my two cats! She is very considerate and it showed in the way she cared for my kitties. They’re both very affectionate but shy, but she totally understood their boundaries and made sure they were comfortable at all times. Rachel was an awesome, super communicative pet sitter that we'd be more than happy to book again! She made sure that we knew how our cat, Chili, was doing every day via multiple updates and answered any spur of the moment questions immediately. She also ensured she was prepared in advance by getting in touch well before our booked dates. Thank you for being an excellent sitter!

Lauren is wonderful and was so good taking care of my mom’s cats. We had to rehome them as my mom can no longer care for them due to illness. While she was recovering she stayed with me and we were both so comforted knowing Louie and Leo were being taken care of. Lauren was a life saver and I would highly recommend her!
We had such a great experience with Destiny watching our cats! She was incredibly communicative, reliable, and sent us regular updates while we were away, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our cats and made sure they were well taken care of. We came home to happy, well-loved kitties! We would absolutely recommend Destiny and will definitely use her again in the future! ❤️

We were very happy having Mamie (Mary) care for our two cats! She is a great communicator, particularly when it comes to letting you know how it's going with your pets. We have a cat who is recovering from an injury and we could tell from meeting Mamie - and later from her updates - that he was in good, attentive hands! She also had to play hide-and-seek a bit to keep up with our more timid cat, but she caught onto his patterns. We're glad we were able to book her and would highly recommend!

Kathleen is so great with Lucy, who can be a shy anxious cat. She has been attentive to the specific requests I’ve asked her to report on to give me peace of mind while I’m away. I’m so happy to have found someone Lucy feels happy and safe with. Every day she’s sent me photos of a contented cat!

Alaska was amazing and made my first experience on Rover seamless! She was so communicative, from picking up keys beforehand to dealing with my less-than-sociable cat, I couldn't have asked for anyone better to look after my baby while I was out of town. I highly recommend booking her!

Caralyn was absolutely amazing!! She took excellent care of our two cats while we were away. She’s a great communicator, and sent us daily updates on how the girls were doing. We really appreciated her gentle, compassionate approach with them, and know they were well taken care of! We would definitely book Caralyn again :)

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Carnegie. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
