Haley was absolutely wonderful! She was punctual, friendly, trustworthy, and kind to my dog. She always took him for the full amount of walk time and was great about letting me know if he went to the bathroom. I would highly recommend her!

Ken is wonderful. Incredibly thorough and conscientious when we first met, asking detailed questions about Leigh's needs and preferences that I hadn't even thought to share in her profile. He is always on time and my dog already loves him!

We were visiting family in Sarasota and last minute needed a dog walker for the day. Christine was available the night before and walked our dog twice for us while we were gone all day. She sent us photos of both walks which was great. Highly recommend and will use her again if we are back in Sarasota with our dog!

About: I will take your dog or dogs on long walks and let them explore their environment. I am available after 3 and depending on where you are, I can do mornings as well. I will not leave any mess behind for your neighbors to see. I will make sure your dog gets good exercise on each and every walk. I do not mind dogs that love to explore everything around them and want to see and smell everything they come across. I can walk multiple dogs at a time if you have more than one dog. i will try and make your dogs walk a good experience and a walk that stimulates them and hopefully, along the way, they are able to relieve themselves while we are outside!

About: Your Pet's Home Away From Home with a Lifetime Animal Enthusiast I'd be honored to welcome your beloved pets into my home! My life has been devoted to animals, starting on a ranch where I gained hands-on experience with everything from horses, dogs, and cats to chickens and beyond. As a retired horse trainer and long-time dog breeder, I bring a wealth of knowledge in animal health, behavior, and communication. I've personally trained service dogs for mobility, and I'm passionate about helping dogs overcome behavioral challenges. With your permission, I can address specific training needs your dog might have, such as potty training, leash manners, or breaking other bad habits, ensuring their time with me is both enjoyable and productive. Rest assured, your pets will be treated as cherished members of my family during their stay. Our home is a calm, adult-only environment, providing a peaceful and safe space for your companions. I'm available at anytime to make sure your pet is well taken care of. I have dedicated my life to animals and I love it. With many years of dedicated experience across a diverse range of animals, I offer exceptional pet care grounded in health, compassion, and understanding. My extensive background includes not only general animal well-being but also specialized expertise in handling animals with specific needs and successfully training dogs and other animals through positive methods. We do not have any small children or any children. Just adults that love animals. I'm committed to ensuring every pet under my care feels loved, safe, and comfortable. My flexible availability means I can accommodate your pets' schedules and individual requirements at any time. Pets always have fresh water and are fed as scheduled by the pet owner. We do board cats and they are kept in a seprate area of our home. We have a very large lani and pool and a small dog pool available for your pets. Your pets will never be unsupervised when they are in our pool area. I have a very large screened in lani that the dogs can run and play in. I do have a small fenced area for little dogs. I do not leave the dogs outside unattended due to risk of over heating, escaping, cane toads, poisonous snakes and fire ants. I walk the dogs as many times as they need to, to go potty. I've been told by multiple pet parents that other sitters just put their dogs out in a yard unsupervised and their dogs were attacked by other dogs. I'm always supervising your dogs.

About: Animals of all shapes & sizes have played a major part in my life. I had multiple dogs in my home growing up, and spent my summers working at my family’s farm. Taking care of animals is like a job- if you love what you’re doing it’s never really work. I work from home Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and in the office Monday & Thursday. I am mostly always at home which allows for more play time! My home is on 1.6 acres which gives plenty of room to run around. I am a believer in “pets are family” and they are to be treated as such. I am also big on consistency and know how imperative it is to maintain a schedule for your pets.

About: Animals aren’t just pets to me. They are individuals with emotions, personalities, and needs that deserve to be understood and respected. You can feel completely at ease knowing their happiness, comfort, and safety are always my top priority. As an animal rights advocate, I approach every animal with genuine compassion and awareness, tailoring my care to who they are, not just what they need on paper. Whether they are energetic, shy, playful, or sensitive, I meet them where they are and give them the attention and love that helps them feel truly safe and seen. You can trust me to show up consistently, follow routines closely, and create a calm, caring environment while you are away. I do not just watch animals. I connect with them, care for them, and treat them like they matter, because they do. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I structure my schedule to allow consistent time for walks, feeding, check-ins, and companionship. I generally maintain a flexible routine, which allows me to adjust based on each pet’s needs and the specific care plan we agree on. I’m intentional about not overbooking so I can stay attentive and responsive while pets are in my care. My availability can vary slightly week to week, but I prioritize clear communication and planning in advance to ensure expectations are aligned and your pet’s routine is supported as closely as possible. I aim to create a calm, safe, and comfortable environment based on each pet’s routine and personality. Whether I’m in your home or mine, I follow your instructions closely while staying attentive to how your pet is feeling. In your home, I keep things consistent with their normal schedule so they feel secure. In my home, I maintain a clean, low-stress space with close supervision and attention to safety and care. I stay mindful during walks and interactions and avoid anything that could feel overwhelming or risky. I also provide regular updates with photos and check in if anything seems off so we can decide what’s best together. **I do not have pets of my own, but my roommates have pets in the other part of the home. They are well-managed, and I take care to ensure safe, controlled interactions. I can also keep pets fully separated at all times if preferred, using multi-barrier safety measures.

About: After years of caring for pets, I’ve learned that every animal has their own personality, routine and needs. I grew up in a household of cats and dogs. (Can’t forget about the fish too!) I take the time to make sure your pet feels comfortable and understood. I am currently working part-time, so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pups!! I am available for dog-walks and drop-ins. I am flexible and reliable. I always like to make sure I familiarize myself with your dogs surroundings and his/her home. I make sure to carry basic milk bone treats with me, as this usually helps calm situations. You can expect clear communication, updates and plenty of photos so you never have to wonder how your pet is doing while you’re away.

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all different breeds for over 20 years starting with family, friends and neighborhood dogs when I was around 10. I’ve personally owned Pitbulls, Great Danes,Rottweilers, Schnauzers and Malteses. I currently have 2 cats so I am even comfortable with them! But at the end of the day I’m comfortable with all animals. Feeding, walking, bathing and just everyday care is not a problem for me! I currently work full-time but I am off work at 3 pm everyday so my whole afternoon is available. My off days are Sunday and Tuesday which I am completely available for. I know it’s hot here in southwest Florida and your pets care and safety in this hot sun is the most important for me! I know how hard it can be on their paws and how quickly some breeds can overheat.

About: What sets me apart from other pet sitters is the level of personalized care, attention to detail, and genuine love I bring to every pet I care for. I don’t just show up to feed and walk—I take time to understand each animal’s routine, personality, and special needs. Whether it's a shy cat who needs extra patience, a high-energy dog who loves long walks, or a senior pet with medication needs, I adjust my care to make them feel comfortable and loved. Pet care fits beautifully into my retired routine because I now have the time and flexibility to truly dedicate myself to it. Each day, I enjoy starting my morning with a walk or play session with the pets in my care—it keeps me active and gives structure to my day. Throughout the week, I schedule pet visits or overnight stays around my personal commitments, allowing me to be reliable and fully present for both the pets and their owners. Caring for animals brings me joy, purpose, and a sense of companionship, which is a wonderful complement to my retired lifestyle. Whether it's feeding, walking, playing, or simply offering comfort and company, I enjoy making each pet feel safe and loved while their families are away. Caring for your pet in their own home helps them feel safe, secure, and relaxed while you're away. Here's what I provide to make sure they receive the best care possible: 🐾 Familiar Routine I follow your pet’s normal routine for feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and medications. Keeping things consistent helps reduce stress and keeps your pet happy. 🐾 Individualized Attention Every pet is different, so I adjust my care to meet their unique needs—whether that’s extra playtime, quiet companionship, or special handling for seniors or shy pets. 🐾 Safety & Wellness I monitor your pet’s health and behavior during each visit, and I’ll contact you right away if I notice anything out of the ordinary. Their safety is always my top priority. 🐾 A Clean & Comfortable Space I make sure food and water bowls are clean and full, litter boxes are scooped, and accidents are cleaned up promptly. Your home stays tidy, and your pet stays comfortable. 🐾 Communication & Peace of Mind You’ll receive regular updates with photos and notes so you can feel confident knowing your pet is being well cared for—even when you’re away.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Cape Haze. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

  • 91% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
