About: I have a special gift for earning the trust of shy, anxious, and hard-to-win-over cats—it's why many people call me a cat whisperer.. here's a little about me.... I'm a lifelong animal lover with experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I currently share my home with four cats and have spent my entire life around animals. Many people call me a "cat whisperer" because I have a special ability to connect with shy, fearful, and independent cats. I understand that every animal has a unique personality and deserves to be treated with kindness, respect, and love. I treat every pet as if they were my own and strive to make them feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I currently work part-time as a caregiver for the elderly and take care of animals in my spare time. Most of the clients I work with have pets which I tend to as well. I am around animals pretty much around the clock and absolutely love it. ❤️ When I'm working with clients, I give as much attention to their pets as I do to them. I pay attention to their individual needs and wants.
About: I have always had dogs of my own with my husband in our own home. Now I am single again and renting a home. Walking and loving all animals is something I am mindful of on a daily basis. Walking other dog owner's fur babies makes sense now. It's fun, easy, and helpful for those who need help taking care of their own from time to time. I have been retired since April 1st 2022. Not working full time has given me the opportunity for diversity in my daily activities. I walk anyway and enjoy sharing my walks with others- both 2 and 4 legged beings of all ages and backgrounds. I can care for pets in their own homes. I do not currently have the ability to have pets in my home. I strive to leave things, people, and beings better than I find them.

About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs of different breeds and temperaments. I’ve had my own American Cocker Spaniel and also grew up with a Boxer, so I’m comfortable with both gentle companion dogs and more energetic breeds. I also have a grooming certificate and worked as a dog bather in Virginia for several months, where I gained practical experience handling dogs, keeping them calm during grooming, and ensuring their comfort and safety. In addition, I volunteered at dog adoption events, helping care for dogs in new and sometimes stressful environments. This experience taught me how to read dog behavior, build trust quickly, and support dogs as they adjust. I am patient, attentive, and always adjust my approach to each dog’s personality to make them feel safe and cared for. I currently work part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to provide attentive pet care. I can easily fit dog walks, playtime, and visits into my daily routine, and I make sure each pet gets the time and attention they need. I’m also very comfortable maintaining a cat’s routine — including feeding, litter care, playtime, and quiet companionship. I provide care exclusively in my clients’ homes, where pets feel most comfortable and secure in their familiar environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning for cats, walks for dogs, and playtime or companionship based on their needs. I always take time to build trust with each pet, especially shy or sensitive ones, and I adjust my approach to match their personality. My goal is to keep them calm, safe, and cared for while their owners are away.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
