“I reached out to Brandi because I had a horrible experience with another dog sitter and needed to place my dog in a different home immediately. Brandy was so accommodating and made me feel like my dog would be so safe and loved while I was gone. She was constantly sending me pictures and giving me updates. She even took the time to call me and gave my dog a bath to help calm her down. She truly went above and beyond! I’m so happy we found a trustworthy and kind person to use in the future!”

About: I was a dog walker and pet sitter in college. Since then I’ve mostly pet sat for friends. Recently started working from home and am available for more regular sitting and walking. I have a cat and an elderly/special needs dog myself and have experience caring for all kinds. I well versed in medicating, and other special needs. I work from home with very flexible hours so I am fairly available during the week for drop ins, walks and boarding. I have some weekend availability also for overnights. As a pet owner myself I know how much we care for our animals and I understand the trust it takes putting their care in another’s hands. I take that responsibility, as well as their safety, wellbeing and comfort seriously. Whether in my home or yours, I’ll provide them with the utmost care and respect.
“Very happy with Jennifer looking after our dog. She took great photos of him and sent us updates of his stay. We just picked him up and he's one happy and very tired dog! We will definitely have her look after him again. Highly recommend!”

“I would absolutely recommend Liz to take care of your pup. Hugo had a great time and it’s a great space. The pictures she sent were all of our doggie smiling and sleeping and totally comfortable. We will be using Liz for daycare as well as future pet sitting.”

About: I began my seriously joyous devotion to animals at the age of 11, as an SF ZOO volunteer in the barnyard, where I learned to care for a variety of animals, from miniature horses to coyotes to parrots, and more. I have continued to attract rescuing wayward beasts of all kinds, providing them with excellent love and care. I am a natural nurturer, the animals feel at home with me wherever we are. I have worked as a cat, dog and multi-pet sitter for many years, up until now, only through personal referrals. I am a kundalini yoga teacher, craniosacral and polarity therapist. My son is grown and I have a very flexible schedule. I love to get out with the dogs for long walks and if they don’t mind the car, we might get to the beach. I love nature, the outdoors and finding out how best to care for your animal so that they don’t miss you too much. I absolutely appreciate forming long term client relationships so that you and your animals can relax and have fun. I am self-employed and can accommodate your needs. When I am hired for a pet-sit, this is my focus and priority. I can schedule all my other work around it. I have a lovely minimalist home for your pet, a small garden and plenty of leashed walking in the woods space for regular exercise. If a dog is ok with car rides, I’m happy to take them to the beach.

“Excellent experience! Patricia and her family took extra great care of Teddy. We so appreciated them welcoming him in to their home. We would absolutely recommend her and use again if the need arises.”

“Ana was absolutely amazing with my Goldendoodle! She took such great care of him, kept me updated, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. It was clear he was happy, comfortable, and well loved in her care. I would definitely trust Ana to watch him again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter. Thank you so much, Ana!! :)”

“Veronica was an excellent choice for my Tito. She is professional, experienced and a very kind person. Tito was made to feel right at home and was very happy while with Veronica. He had his first pupcup and she sent him home with the cutest hallow costume. I highly recommend her for your pet. ❤️”

About: I’ve always loved cats and dogs I could never pick a side. I had a Chihuahua growing up and currently have a cat called Bonbon. So I know how to take care of both dogs and cats. I understand cats enjoy their space while dogs don’t understand that word. Which I don’t mind at all. :) I am currently going to school right now so I have a lot of time in between my days to take care of your pet(s) wether it’s stopping be for their meal time or taking them on a walk I am happy to do so. I have classes currently Mondays and Wednesdays so my availability might be little more tight but will still be available. I know how to keep pets safe such as know in what dogs and cats should refrain from eating and can make sure that your pet is always safe and knows they are being cared for while you are away.
About: I am very intuitive, calm, and have a natural ability to connect with every dog that I meet. I take the time to learn each pup’s unique personality, routines, and quirks — whether that’s a favorite walking route, a special way they like to be greeted, or the toy that always gets their tail wagging. I treat every dog as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and happy while their owners are away. My passion is to provide attentive, tailored care whether it's for walks or in-home care. I am a great communicator and will always provide updates as requested to put your mind at ease. Serving Sonoma and Marin County! I will update my availability regularly on the Rover calendar to ensure accuracy. Looking forward to meeting you and your furry friend and how I can be of service. I am reliable, trustworthy, and responsible so you can trust me to keep your place clean and safe, just like you left it or better as I love a clean home. I take great pride in being engaged and present with them whether we are on walks, hikes or just chilling out. I am attentive, compassionate, and loving so your four-legged friend will not just get a sitter, but a dog lover who will give them love and affection in my care. To ease the mind of pet parents, I am more than happy to send updates, pictures, or videos during my care. I want you to feel reassured that he/she is in good hands.
“Lindsey is amazing! She took great care of Maddie and she had so much fun with Hawk. Lindsey is so sweet and she kept me updated on Maddie with pictures and videos. Maddie would definitely be staying with Lindsey and Hawk again. Thank you so much!”

“Stacie and her family were amazing! They took such great care of Ginger and gave her so much love and attention. I felt completely comfortable knowing she was safe and happy with them. Stacie was always quick to respond and sent photos while we were away, which we really appreciated. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their dog.”

“Lexi and her family treated our dog as their own, and they truly understand what it means to care for a dog. There was never a worry that Moose wouldn’t get adequate stimulation with the many walks and backyard time spent with this family. The most noticeable difference between Lexi and other sitters was Moose’s energy when we picked him up. He wasn’t full of anxious energy and he seemed like our normal pup. This gives us the peace of mind and then some for any future stays he has with this household.”

“Gabriel & Laura took such great care of our dogs, Kylo & Cocoa! They were very attentive and sent us updates throughout the dogs’ stay, so we got to enjoy our weekend knowing that our dogs were cared for by this amazing family. Highly recommend and will definitely have them look after the dogs again when we’re in the area!”

About: I’ve worked with both kittens and puppies, so I understand the extra patience, attention, and care young pets need. I also have experience with both big and small dogs, which helps me adapt to different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I focus on making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. Pet care fits well into my schedule because I’m available every day after 3 PM once school is over, and I’m free on weekends. During the summer and school breaks, I have a much more flexible schedule and am available throughout the day. This allows me to give pets plenty of attention, playtime, walks, and consistent care. I care for pets directly in my client’s home to help them stay comfortable in their familiar environment and keep their normal routine. I follow any specific instructions provided, including feeding schedules, walk times, medication needs, and preferred routines. I also make sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, and affection so they feel safe and not lonely while their owners are away. I keep the home clean and respect the space by tidying up after feeding, walks, or any messes, and I always make sure the pet is secure before leaving.

“Michael and his wife were excellent hosts for our dog. No issues and we would highly recommend them for others who are in need of a dog sitter in the Calistoga area. Since our dog doesn't like the kennel environment so well, this was a great option.”

About: I’ve loved animals since I was young and have been around dogs my whole life. I’ve had my own dog, Simba, since March 2021, and he’s very much part of my family. I genuinely enjoy having dogs around and getting to know their different personalities. I’m home full-time, so I’m able to give pets a lot of attention and company throughout the day. I enjoy going on walks, playing, hanging out, and just having a dog around while I go about my day. I’m also someone who pays attention to the little details and will make sure your pet’s normal routine is followed. I know leaving your dog with someone else requires trust. I’ll treat your pet with the same care and patience I’d want someone to give Simba. I’m happy to send updates and photos while you’re away, and I’ll make sure your dog gets plenty of attention, affection, and care. I’d love to meet your pup and hopefully become someone they’re excited to see! I work from home full-time, so I have a flexible schedule and am around the house throughout the day. I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, take them for walks, and keep them company rather than leaving them alone for long periods. I already have a regular routine with my own dog, Simba, and I’m happy to adjust my schedule to fit each pet’s individual needs and routine. I’ll be caring for pets in my home, where I have a fenced yard that gives dogs a safe place to get outside, play, and explore. I’m home full-time, so pets will have plenty of supervision and company throughout the day. I’ve had my own dog, Simba, since 2021 and have been around dogs my whole life. I’m very attentive to their behavior and individual needs, and I’m careful about things like doors, gates, food, and making sure they’re comfortable in a new environment. My goal is for your dog to feel like they’re staying with a friend rather than being somewhere unfamiliar. I’ll follow their usual routine as closely as possible and keep you updated with photos and messages so you know they’re happy and doing well.
“We had a death in the family while we were on vacation in the Central Coast. We needed to find a dog sitter for our dog when we travelled north to the Bay Area for the memorial service. With extremely short notice--and without ever meeting us or our dog-- Robert and Sheila agreed to watch our Zoey while we attended the funeral. Robert was so kind and compassionate. They have a lovely home, a safe and warm environment for any dog. Above all else, they are caring, generous caregivers and deserve the highest praise. They extended themselves to accommodate our unexpected need for a sitter and we really appreciated their kindness.”

About: I have been Petsitting for over 5 years and I also worked at a few grooming salons so I have experience with all breeds of dogs as well as some cats birds and other animals I currently work from home so besides appointments every now and then my schedule is very open and flexible with helping out with your pets I am very responsible and follow any instructions given to me . Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Camp Thayer home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Camp Thayer.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Camp Thayer sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
