“I reached out to Brandi because I had a horrible experience with another dog sitter and needed to place my dog in a different home immediately. Brandy was so accommodating and made me feel like my dog would be so safe and loved while I was gone. She was constantly sending me pictures and giving me updates. She even took the time to call me and gave my dog a bath to help calm her down. She truly went above and beyond! I’m so happy we found a trustworthy and kind person to use in the future!”

About: I was a dog walker and pet sitter in college. Since then I’ve mostly pet sat for friends. Recently started working from home and am available for more regular sitting and walking. I have a cat and an elderly/special needs dog myself and have experience caring for all kinds. I well versed in medicating, and other special needs. I work from home with very flexible hours so I am fairly available during the week for drop ins, walks and boarding. I have some weekend availability also for overnights. As a pet owner myself I know how much we care for our animals and I understand the trust it takes putting their care in another’s hands. I take that responsibility, as well as their safety, wellbeing and comfort seriously. Whether in my home or yours, I’ll provide them with the utmost care and respect.

About: I began my seriously joyous devotion to animals at the age of 11, as an SF ZOO volunteer in the barnyard, where I learned to care for a variety of animals, from miniature horses to coyotes to parrots, and more. I have continued to attract rescuing wayward beasts of all kinds, providing them with excellent love and care. I am a natural nurturer, the animals feel at home with me wherever we are. I have worked as a cat, dog and multi-pet sitter for many years, up until now, only through personal referrals. I am a kundalini yoga teacher, craniosacral and polarity therapist. My son is grown and I have a very flexible schedule. I love to get out with the dogs for long walks and if they don’t mind the car, we might get to the beach. I love nature, the outdoors and finding out how best to care for your animal so that they don’t miss you too much. I absolutely appreciate forming long term client relationships so that you and your animals can relax and have fun. I am self-employed and can accommodate your needs. When I am hired for a pet-sit, this is my focus and priority. I can schedule all my other work around it. I have a lovely minimalist home for your pet, a small garden and plenty of leashed walking in the woods space for regular exercise. If a dog is ok with car rides, I’m happy to take them to the beach.

About: I’ve gained hands-on experience caring for dogs through having our own family dog and looking after other people’s pets. I’m comfortable with daily walks, feeding routines, playtime, and providing plenty of love and attention. I’ve cared for dogs with different personalities and understand the importance of being patient, attentive, and adapting to each dog’s individual needs. My priority is always making sure every pup feels safe, happy, and comfortable in my care. Hi there! I know that dogs are so much more than pets-they’re family. After losing our beloved family dog, we experienced firsthand just how much love, joy, and happiness a furry companion brings into a home. While no dog could ever replace the special place ours holds in our hearts, we still have so much love to give, and caring for other dogs has become a beautiful way to share that love. I’m based in Santa Rosa and work from home, which allows me the flexibility to provide companionship, attention, and personalized care throughout the day. Whether your pup enjoys walks, playtime, belly rubs, or simply relaxing with someone nearby, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely loved. There’s something so special about seeing the happiness dogs bring into our home. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your furry family member in someone else’s care, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. Your dog may be visiting us for just a little while, but they’ll be welcomed with all the love and warmth of family. My children share my love for dogs, and while they enjoy having furry visitors around, I personally handle all pet care and responsibilities. Any interactions with my children are always supervised by me. I also offer morning and evening and weekend drop-in visits.

About: Hello animal lovers - I have benefitted from Rover for dog sitting and realize it's something I'd love to do myself. My husband (a social worker) and I are both dog lovers and have a dog (a Frenchie) as well. I work from home (I run a marketing agency I started 12 year ago) and alas much of typical day I'm on zoom, and treasure the breaks for walking and loving on the dogs. While new to Rover, if been helping out friends and neighbors with dog care and logistics and sharing the love for years I'm reliable, work from home, and would love to know how you could use some help. Currently offering to sit or board one dog at a time or arrange prescheduled walks. I'll treat them like family. Comfortable with dogs of many sizes and personalities, and happy to provide updates and photos for peace of mind. Looking forward to meeting your furry friend! Our dog Fiona, a frenchie, plays well with others and has some unique needs including no rough play + daily medicine needs so we're familiar with special rules and medical needs. We do a morning walk, a mid day walk, an "after work" walk and a before bed walk. I work from home so am genrrally around all day. While flexible, I imagine at least initially the primary offering will be to host and care for your dog at our place but am open to house sitting if there's a great fit, I work from home. I can host your dog weekdays and weekends but know on weekends we may have friends (and sometimes friends with dogs) stop by. We have a fenced in deck otherwise for excercise we take leashed walks. I currently am only offering care in my own home and plan to only host one additional dog overnight at a time. Ask me any questions you'd like.

“We had a dog care need come up with two weeks notice and Sheila was able to help us out. This was our first time using Rover for a sitter or boarding and Sheila (with her husband) made Rory feel at home. She got her cuddles, scritches, treats and a big yard to run after the ball. I loved the updates and pictures of Rory enjoying her weekend doggy getaway.”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was fifteen, but I have had different animals all throughout my life. From birds, to cats, and dogs of all sizes I have had a lot of personal experience. Some of my duties included feeding, walking, bathing, grooming (for personal pets), and attention to medical needs. I have a big heart for pets and wish to give them care and support as they do us! I don’t currently have any pets, but I do tend to dog sit for my aunt. I currently work as a caregiver and for an after school program for youth. On my days off, I would love to help with pets. As stated above I don’t currently have a pet of my own, but for my aunt’s dog I take him on walks, feed him, keep him hydrated (especially with summer bringing in heat), there’s always play time and he gets a bath before he goes back home. I am very open to all needs of both the pet and the owner.

I am in Sebastopol where we take advantage of all parks, walks and wonderful outdoor opportunities. My older gentle female dog can keep your pet company. I am also able to crate dogs if desired.

She was clearly comfortable with them. My husband was afraid she wouldn’t want to come home with us! We booked late on a holiday weekend and ended up rescheduling our pick up time to a couple hours later. Katie was totally accommodating. We had a perfect boarding experience! About: I’ve loved animals since I was young and have been around dogs my whole life. I’ve had my own dog, Simba, since March 2021, and he’s very much part of my family. I genuinely enjoy having dogs around and getting to know their different personalities. I’m home full-time, so I’m able to give pets a lot of attention and company throughout the day. I enjoy going on walks, playing, hanging out, and just having a dog around while I go about my day. I’m also someone who pays attention to the little details and will make sure your pet’s normal routine is followed. I know leaving your dog with someone else requires trust. I’ll treat your pet with the same care and patience I’d want someone to give Simba. I’m happy to send updates and photos while you’re away, and I’ll make sure your dog gets plenty of attention, affection, and care. I’d love to meet your pup and hopefully become someone they’re excited to see! I work from home full-time, so I have a flexible schedule and am around the house throughout the day. I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, take them for walks, and keep them company rather than leaving them alone for long periods. I already have a regular routine with my own dog, Simba, and I’m happy to adjust my schedule to fit each pet’s individual needs and routine. I’ll be caring for pets in my home, where I have a fenced yard that gives dogs a safe place to get outside, play, and explore. I’m home full-time, so pets will have plenty of supervision and company throughout the day. I’ve had my own dog, Simba, since 2021 and have been around dogs my whole life. I’m very attentive to their behavior and individual needs, and I’m careful about things like doors, gates, food, and making sure they’re comfortable in a new environment. My goal is for your dog to feel like they’re staying with a friend rather than being somewhere unfamiliar. I’ll follow their usual routine as closely as possible and keep you updated with photos and messages so you know they’re happy and doing well.

My husband and I booked a last minute trip up in Guerneville and wanted our pups to be close by :) Veronica lives very close to where we were staying and decided to watch them even as a last minute request! She was super communicative, sent us lots of pictures, played with them, and walked them a lot! she followed instructions great and I could tell Boone and Nova were well cared for ❤️ couldn’t have asked for a better sitter while my husband and I were enjoying some R&R together. Thanks so much, Veronica!

Luna Moonbat always ADORES her time at Leslie's house - the pictures of her basking in the sunshine on the deck say it all. This time when I picked her up, she was so blissed out you'd have thought she spent the weekend at a luxury spa. Highly recommend!

FAQs for Dog Boarding - Vacation Beach

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of November 2026, there are 277 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Vacation Beach. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

95% of sitters in Vacation Beach can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Vacation Beach home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Vacation Beach.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Vacation Beach. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

You and your Vacation Beach sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
