“One of the best pet sitting experiences we’ve ever had! He was so accommodating and kept us updated with pictures and videos! Boss made a new friend for sure and we will definitely be booking with him again!”

About: I worked at Allen Veterinary Clinic in Texas earning my Vet Tech Certification and am currently enrolled in online college after leaving the Marine Corps. Dogs and cats have been my speciality but I love all animals. I am currently a stay at home parent enrolled in online school. Most weekdays am available in the early morning and late afternoons but am flexible for really any time line. I treat all animals as though they were my own and then some. Animals have funny personalities and each unique in their own way, I do my best to honor their likes and dislikes as well as yours!
“Orlando always takes great care of my dog and my house. He is responsive and sends pictures to let Me know how my boy is doing. He goes the extra mile and strips the bed before leaving I definitely recommend him”

“There are not enough words about how Rissa took care of Ted. When I got home, the house was perfect and Teddy was very happy. Rissa sent pictures and kept in touch the entire time. She is loving, caring and has a heart for animals. I will use Rissa over and over. Thank you Rissa, you were able to give me a relaxing vacation! Steve”

“Allen was great! I needed a last minute sitter and Allen was the perfect choice. Great communication and put up with my silly dogs with no complaints. Left my house in great condition. I look forward to having him stay with my beasties again. Thank you so much! 💜”
“Karleigh was amazing with my dogs! they absolutely loved her and she really treated them like her own! We loved having her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter!”

“John is awesome! My dog Bruno bonded with him immediately and he took great care of him, sending pics and updates every day. And I have to add…when I returned home, my house looked like no one had been there! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”

About: I would be so happy to care for your fur baby in your home. I have 2 little fur babies at home. I have a family of Rover caregivers. I am a stay at home dog mom with plenty of time to care and love your fur babies as often as needed. The care of you fur babies is very important to me. I have plenty of time to give your fur babies exercise, love and cuddles in your home. Shirt or long term care arrangements can be made.
“Alison was awesome! She helped me out when I had a sitter bail last minute and was super professional and friendly. She sent multiple pictures of my dog so I did not have to worry about if he was being taken care of. I was so thankful to have someone I could rely on. I would definitely book with her again!”

“We loved Kelsey. She was always available to answer all our questions, and very flexible when changes came up. House looked better upon return than when we left. Highly recommend.”

“Riley did a wonderful job! Dory loved her & she was so responsive to his needs. Dory is very scared of thunder storms and Riley helped him through it. She also sent pictures to keep us updated.”

“Lynsey was amazing. Lincoln was so well cared for which gave us peace of mind over the holidays. She was super communicative and send pictures and updates regularly. Lincoln can’t wait to see Lynsey again! Thank you so much for being amazing!”

“Alissa came for a couple of nights prior to our taking a bigger trip so she could help my very anxious rescue dog feel more comfortable. We appreciate that she's so flexible and helpful. Makes it a lot easier to go away for a longer trip knowing the dogs are in caring hands!”

“We usually have family take care of our dogs but being new to the area, we no longer have that option. We weren’t comfortable with leaving our dogs in a kennel so we found Laura. Not only was she affordable, but she came to our place so our dogs can stay where they are comfortable. Laura was great and we loved the updates and pictures. She was even able to accommodate another night stay when we decided to wait a day to come home. Will definitely be using her services again in the future.”

About: I’ve grown up around animals my whole life and have over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for them. I previously helped care for 4 dogs, over 10 cats, and 3 horses, so I’m very comfortable handling different personalities, sizes, and needs. I also have experience working in an animal shelter, where I cared for and handled a variety of animals. In addition, I pet sit for my uncle when needed, where I care for his 3 dogs. I recently moved and now have 2 of my cats with me, but I still have plenty of experience from caring for a larger group of animals. I understand how important it is to be reliable, patient, and attentive, and I treat every pet like my own to make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for. My schedule is currently flexible as I’m in the process of settling into a new area. I’ll be coordinating availability around my husband’s work schedule, but I’m open to dog walking, drop-ins, and pet sitting when I’m available. I’m happy to communicate and work with pet owners to find times that work best, and I’ll always be upfront and reliable with scheduling. I always prioritize your pet’s safety and comfort. I follow any routines, feeding schedules, and instructions exactly as given. I’m very patient and attentive, and I take time to understand each pet’s personality and needs. I make sure they feel safe, loved, and stress-free while you’re away, and I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos.
About: I have never had a moment in my life where I did not have multiple pets at a time. My household is very pet friendly and with that I have learnt how to care for them properly! I love animals of all kinds and have been relied on for many different pet sitting/caring occasions. Along with my full-time job, I work part-time at a pet store where I have learned a great deal on different techniques and tactics on how to properly care for, meet, and love animals. Through this store I have also gained many training opportunities where I can educate myself further on pet care and nutrition! I currently work full-time. Therefore, I am the perfect candidate for lunch-time visits, and night feedings, walks, drop-ins, etc. as my schedule in the morning of the day is pretty filled. I am pretty open on weekends! Having two dogs of my own, I know what all goes into caring for a pet! Depending on your needs, I am able and experienced in feeding, walking, crating (if desired), playing, etc.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
