“Tyler took amazing care of my senior dog, Tyler— yes, Tyler took care of Tyler. ? They had a good time together that was evidenced by the pictures received every three hours. It was my first time leaving Tyler at all in over 6 months, so was quite nervous. For someone as worried as I am, I felt safe leaving Tyler with Tyler and will definitely book them again in the future if they’re willing. I can tell that Tyler genuinely cares for the animals they dog sit for and that’s very important to me— TOP NOTCH CARE!!”
“It was my first time having my dog with Michele and she took great care of my dog. She updated me every hour with photos and responded very quickly. It made me feel assured that my dog was doing good.”

About: Life is better with fur babies !! I have two cats of my own that are literally my babies. I can’t wait to look after yours as if they were my own. I love looking after cats and dogs. Especially high energy dogs that are up for a good walk! I’m currently working part time so I am available all week. The best time is weekends and evenings during the week. So I have a lot of time to spoil your fur baby! I have a spacious apartment that furbabies can roam freely. Dogs/puppies are always welcomed to bring toys of their own. For cats I have toys and small kitty condos that they may use if you would like.

“We have worked with Keoma a couple times now and she has been responsive, friendly and professional. She’s taken care of our pup from our home as well as hers. He’s been happy and tired out from fun when we get him back at the end of the day! Highly recommend Keoma if you are looking for a person to take care of your pet and show them a lot of warmth and affection.”

“Vanessa is a gem - responsive, polite, clean, caring, loving, and always available. We were looking for a pet sitter who could provide a loving and stable environment for our pup with separation anxiety, as we wanted to reduce his reliance on medication. Vanessa exceeded our expectations, providing a calm and nurturing presence that has greatly benefited our Blaze. We're grateful to have found her, and her care has given us peace of mind. If you're seeking a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter, Vanessa is an excellent choice.”

About: Hello! We are RuthAnn and Brandon, a husband and wife duo of lifelong dog lovers. We know that your dog isn’t just a pet… they are FAMILY! That’s why when your pup stays with us they aren’t just “guest dogs” they become a part of our family too. Plus there’s two of us so this means TWICE the love and attention of a regular sitter :) A little bit about us: We are the proud “aunt and uncle” to our family dogs, West and Sadie. We’ve added them to our profile so you can get to know more about them there. While they don’t live with us they visit us often and they are very friendly, so if they happen to be over during your pups stay, that just means more friends to play with! I am currently a nursing student in my last semester and my husband works in sales! So one of the biggest perks of booking with us is that our schedules are flexible. At least one of us is always home. So your pup will have constant companionship, potty breaks and plenty of belly rubs thought the day. We also have a large fully fenced yard that’s perfect for zoomies or a game of fetch! We want you to have total peace of mind when you book with us, so we offer meet and greets prior to booking, as well as regular updates, photos and videos of all the fun your dog is having. We can’t wait to meet your furry best friend! Seamlessly because we are home based and flexible. Between the two of us, your dog will have constant supervision and a routine tailored to their needs! We live in a fully fenced home so your pup has full access to a safe fenced yard for supervised play of course. Because Brandon and I are home, your pup gets a perfect balance of activity and rest. We follow your specific feeding and medications to a T (we know how important this is) and we love to provide plenty of belly rubs and cuddles on the couch. We keep a tidy dog proofed home and we keep fresh water available at all times!! We are a team that’s big on communication so you’ll receive daily updates with photos and videos so you can see exactly what your baby is up to. If your dog enjoys company, we love to facilitate play, if they are on the shyer more timid side and prefer one on one time, we can accommodate for that as well.
“Once again, Charlie, the pug had an outstanding time with Peachy and Abby! Even though there was a lot of ice and snow , Charlie and Peachy got to frolic around and get nice and tired together. Always appreciate all the videos. Charlie the pug will most certainly be back!!!”

“We had such a wonderful experience and time with Christina. She was so communicative and updated us with pictures and videos throughout the day. My Winston was so happy being there, he had a huge smile on his face. I knew Winston was in such good hands. Thank you so much Christina!! We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.”

“Peggy was great! Easy to work with, flexible, and really cared about our dog. We were traveling through her area and she walked Maple both right when we arrived after a 3 hour car drive and right before we picked up Maple with another leg of travel ahead of us- I think she really thought about the fact our dog had been traveling and would need a good long walk ♥️”
“Ingrid was absolutely amazing! She took fantastic care of our golden retriever on Thanksgiving. We received multiple updates with videos and pictures throughout the day and Ingrid was quick to respond as well. Kennedy enjoyed running around in the yard! Thank you Michele for accepting my last minute booking, greatly appreciated! I wanted to say that when my boy seen Michele he was so excited to go with her, I was sent pictures on how he was doing and even when I couldn’t make it back in time to get him and I contacted Michele she was so accommodating and was willing to keep him for longer. Thank you 🙏 My boy was definitely tired after having a great time with Michele.

Vanessa and her husband were extremely attentive to not just my pup (Swag) but to me as well. I was in a last minute time crunch and w/out hesitation she leaped in and adjusted her day to accommodate us! She sent updates and videos. In addition she let me know just how accessible she was to me to ensure the lines of communication were available to me and open! They are not just dog sitters, but really good genuine people, which the world can use a lot more of🥹!! Choose Vanessa for a peace of mind, excellent communication, prefer your fur baby to be treated like family, ease of availability and overall comfort for you and your pet!! She is not new to this and it shows! Job well done🫶🏾

I can’t say enough good things about Kelsey! She took great care of my puppy, Milo, today and did an absolutely phenomenal job. She kept me updated throughout the day with adorable videos of Milo having fun with his new 🐶 friends. She made sure he got plenty of walks, good food, and lots of playtime. Milo is now happily snoozing from all the fun, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Highly recommend Kelsey for anyone needing a pet sitter! ⭐️

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Cambria Heights commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
