“Would recommend to everyone. I had multiple pictures and updates during the day and my dog seemed so happy. He was walked, fed, and tired by the time I picked him up.”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up on a farm in the Gaspesie but have called Montreal home for 13 years now. Getting to take care of pets is one of the great privileges of my life, and I'd love to shower your dog or cat with love and attention. I've been pet-sitting, walking and doing drop-ins independently for about 6 years now, and I have experience with puppies and kittens. From cuddles to walks in the park, along the water, time spent sunbathing and nearby hikes, let me know what your pet would enjoy, and I'd be happy to keep them occupied. I'm a writer who works from home. My job isn't stressful or fast-paced, so I'm able to give your pet the full attention they deserve. I am home a majority of the day, so your pet will never need to be alone for long. I have a spacious two-floor home, a fenced yard, and a park across the street. There are three friendly cats and one friendly small dog in the house. All of them are well socialized with other animals.

About: What sets me apart is the calm, attentive environment I provide. I grew up in a home that regularly rescued and fostered dogs, so caring for different personalities, energy levels, and behavioral needs has always been part of my life. We always had at least two dogs in the house at a time, and I’ve continued that into adulthood with my own rescues - Rose, who I’ve had since she was 1 (now 14), and Baby, who has been with me for 6 years. I’m often told I have a calm, easy energy that dogs naturally trust. I’m especially patient and understanding with anxious dogs and behavioral sensitivities, while still creating a relaxed and stable environment. I work from home, so dogs are never left unsupervised and always have consistent attention, care, and companionship throughout the day. My home is cozy, calm, and dog-focused, with a large fenced backyard for fetch, sunbathing, and safe outdoor time. I treat every dog like they’re my own and prioritize making them feel secure, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with me. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine because I work from home and already structure my days around caring for animals. My own dogs are a huge part of my everyday life, so walks, outdoor time, feeding schedules, play, cuddles, and supervision are already built into my routine. I’m home often throughout the day, which allows me to give pets consistent attention, companionship, and care rather than leaving them alone for long periods. I genuinely enjoy creating a calm, cozy environment where animals can relax, feel safe, and settle into a comfortable rhythm. Weekly, I prioritize keeping a clean and pet-friendly home and making sure animals get both mental stimulation and downtime depending on their personality and needs. Whether a pet is energetic and playful or more anxious and reserved, I’m attentive to helping them feel comfortable and cared for while they’re with me. Safety is always my top priority when caring for dogs in my home. I have two friendly rescue dogs who are calm, social, and well accustomed to sharing space with other animals. I always prioritize slow, respectful introductions and pay close attention to each dog’s comfort level, personality, and boundaries. I provide a calm, structured environment where dogs are supervised closely and never left unattended outdoors. My home is ground level and has a large fenced backyard for safe outdoor time, fetch, bathroom breaks, and relaxing in the sun, and all yard time is monitored. Inside the home, I use tools like baby gates when needed to create separate spaces for rest, decompression, feeding, or quieter introductions. Because I work from home, I’m present throughout the day to supervise interactions, maintain routines, and make sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. My goal is always to create a cozy, low-stress environment where dogs can settle in comfortably and feel at home.
“Max was getting very anxious when he sees that we are getting ready to head out and doesn't touch his food. Misa took care of Max and took hom for walks. Max looked happy and he ate as well at her place. Her 2 dogs are also very friendly and accommodating to other dogs.”

About: (English version below!) __________________________________ I love animals! If I could choose one special power it would be to understand them perfectly, in order for them to always have pleasant interactions with me 😊 I took canine language training at the Montreal SPCA, along with their course on biosecurity and hygiene in shelters. I used to volunteer as a dog walker and a foster home. I love offering my help to care for my friends’ pets, and I used to work at a pet store a few years ago; I was responsible for the rodents and birds 🐁🦜🤗 I think what makes me a good pet sitter is how devoted I am to the well-being of the animals I care for, along with my deep curiosity and respect for animals, which makes me able to learn more and improve everyday. I can’t wait to meet your fluff ball! Vlanie 🌸 PLEASE READ: Please note that I am not allowed to have loud or destructive pets in my apartment. I do pet sitting and dog walking part time. I love taking care of the same pets over the long term, because I have the opportunity to get to know them better and form a solid trust bond with them. ENGLISH: I check to see if the animal has certain habits that could be harmful to him/herself or his/her environment (for example, eating things on the ground when going for walks), then I modify the environment and/or I make sure to keep an eye on the animal, so that he/she cannot endanger him/herself or damage anything. For drop-in visits and house sitting, I’d appreciate being notified of any current or recent infestations in the home.

“Thank you for taking care of Peach, Lea! Lea was very accommodating with our last minute request to board Peach for the day, as well as responsive. Plenty of pictures and Peach seemed like she had a great day :)”

About: My name is Christina, and I'm a 36-year-old art teacher and artist living in Montreal. I'm returning to Rover this summer after taking a break while establishing my teaching career. I was a regular dog sitter on the platform while completing my studies at Concordia, and now that I have summers off, I'm once again available to offer dog sitting services. I have a flexible summer schedule and am available for dog sitting and overnight care in my home. I live in a pet-friendly second-floor apartment in Villeray, just a block from the D'Iberville metro station. Because I live in close quarters with my neighbours, a calm dog who keeps barking to a minimum would be best suited for my home. Now that I have my own dog, I like to arrange a meet-and-greet beforehand to make sure everyone feels comfortable and that it's a good fit. It's important to me that your pet receives the comfort and care they need to feel at ease while you're away, and that you feel confident leaving them in my hands. Please feel free to get in touch if you'd like to learn more about me and my services. I also have a studio in my home where I'll be working throughout the summer, which allows me to be present and flexible in caring for your dog My home is bright and spacious, with a front balcony where my dog loves to sit and people-watch. We also have air conditioning, which helps keep everyone comfortable during the warmer summer months and ensures your dog stays cool and relaxed.

“Thank you to Tiago and Sarah for helping us out during Montreal trip with Freddy. He has been very hesitant to stay in rental without us, so they helped us a lot to have a day without him and enter places where dogs are not allowed. Both Tiago and Sarah looks like very kind and friendly people, sent us many updates and videos , special mention to Shady who completely matched Freddy’s personality and they played all the time. We will definitely use their services again during our next Montreal trip!”

About: What sets me apart is my hands-on experience as a Chihuahua breeder and availability to give them consistent love and attention as a homemaker. I care for dogs of all ages and I'm comfortable handling situations that are less common for the average pet sitter. Over the years, this has given me a strong understanding of dog health and behavior. I also have veterinary knowledge, keep a first-aid kit on hand, and provide calm, consistent, attentive care throughout the day. Pet care is a central part of my daily routine. As a homemaker and breeder, my days naturally revolve around caring for dogs; feeding, supervision, routines, and quality time. This allows me to be fully present and provide calm, consistent, attentive care throughout the day. I provide a clean, calm, and secure environment. I follow routines carefully, supervise interactions, keep basic pet health supplies on hand, and make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Saint-Léonard
Sarah is amazing, couldn’t be happier to have left my dog with her and her family (including her dog Mocha) today. She took excellent care of my senior 13 year old German Shepherd, checked in regularly through messages and pictures and was careful to consider his needs and limitations. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a loving home and day companion for their dog!

Liu was amazing with Scooby! She was very caring, patient, and kept us updated during the day, which gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away. Scooby came back happy, relaxed, and clearly well taken care of. We would definitely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and kind dog sitter!

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalized care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Saint-Léonard commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in QC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 85% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
