“Jessica took such wonderful care of our Jerry while we were away. She kept us updated regularly with photos and messages, letting us know what he was doing and how he was feeling, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that Jerry was happy, comfortable, and well loved the entire time. We could tell she genuinely cared for him as if he were her own. We are so grateful for all the love and attention she gave him and would absolutely trust her again. Thank you so much, Jessica!”

About: Having shared my life with animals for as long as I can recall, it all began with the responsibility of caring eight chicks when I was just seven years old. By the age of ten, I proudly welcomed my first Bernese Mountain Dog into my family. Over the years, I've also frequently assisted in caring for a friend's cats while they were away. Currently, I am diligently tending to the needs of two beloved pet rabbits. This extensive journey has provided me with a wealth of experience, allowing me to understand and adapt to diverse animal personalities. I am a college student with a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate regular time to outdoor exercise every week. I have a huge fenced backyard and I live with my retired parents who are both 48 years old have ample free time. Over the past decade, they have lovingly cared for East German Shepherd and Rottweiler. Drawing upon our family's experience in caring for animals , we are wholeheartedly committed to that same level of care and affection. I have consistently regarded my pets as cherished members of my family. Their unwavering affection is a testament to the love I pour into caring them, and this feeling bring me full happiness! I always sharing my room with my dog at bedtime. And engaging in a lot of outdoor activities together strengthens our bond. I'm particularly conscientious about ensuring the safety and well-being of my pets, paying close attention to their dietary needs, nutrition, and overall health.
“Un immense merci ! Je laisserais mon chien avec Juliette les yeux fermés.Elle a pris le temps de donner des nouvelles tout au long de la journée. Ça fait vraiment plaisir de pouvoir confier son chien à quelqu’un d’aussi fiable, qui aime sincèrement les animaux et qui en prend si bien soin. Je recommande à 100 % ! 🐶✨”

“Sarah is unbelievably kind and gentle with my new puppy Joni. Sarah used to be our Montreal Sitter for our first dog May as well. We highly recommend Sarah. She has great instincts with dogs. She is also a dog groomer!!!!”

“Margot has been absolutely fantastic with Link. She always makes sure he’s comfortable and properly socialised with any other dogs she’s taking care of that day. Her love for dogs is clear and she has the skills to match. Margo is also very communicative and keeps us up-to-date with information and pictures throughout the day. Taking the boy on many walks and making sure he’s properly loved. It’s become a second home for Link, and we couldn’t be happier.”

About: Hi! I’m Angela, and I’ve been surrounded by animals for as long as I can remember. Caring for pets (both my own and others’) has always been a big part of my life. I’ve had the joy of raising both cats and dogs, and I’m known among my friends and family as the “dog whisperer” because of my calm, patient approach and ability to connect with just about any pup (a few treats always help, too!). I truly believe every pet deserves love, attention, and understanding—whether they’re playful and outgoing or a little shy and nervous. I’d be honored to care for your furry family member like they’re my own. I have a flexible hybrid work schedule, which gives me plenty of time to care for and spend quality time with your pet! On weekdays, I’m available for walks and visits after 5 PM, and my weekends are wide open for daytime walks, playtime, or overnight care. Whether it’s weekday evening walks or weekend drop-ins, I’m happy to work with your pet’s routine to make sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and never rushed. While I’m caring for pets in your home or taking them out on walks, their safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to understand each pet’s personality, routine, and needs, and I always follow your instructions closely—from feeding schedules and medication to walk routines and favorite toys. I create a calm, pet-friendly environment where animals feel secure and cared for. I’m attentive to details like securely leashing pets during walks, double-checking gates and doors, and keeping a clean, hazard-free space. I also keep you updated regularly with photos and messages so you know your pet is in loving hands. My goal is to build trust not just with your pet, but with you as well
“Amazing experience with Nomida on! We’ll definitely book with her again whenever we need to. Billy had a fantastic time and was truly treated with so much love and care. Nomida was attentive, reliable, and made us feel completely at ease from the start. She kept us updated throughout the stay and sent us photos regularly, which really reassured this dog mom’s heart (haha!). Billy came back happy, relaxed, and clearly well taken care of. Highly recommend! 🐾”

About: *N’hésitez pas à m’écrire en français ou en anglais Animal care is a lifelong passion of mine. We had family cats and dogs growing up, and volunteered as a family at our local rescue. I have continued volunteering into adulthood, with responsibilities ranging from basic care, to fostering (feral cats, litters of kittens, pregnant cats and neonatal kittens, puppies, dogs with severe reactivity, bite history, or training challenges, and everything in between!), to managing adoptions for a small rescue. I have also completed dog trainer training courses in basic obedience and tricks, and love building positive-reinforcement based training into my day-to-day with my lab, Murphy. I am competent and comfortable giving basic medications. I am experienced, affectionate, and ready to meet your pet where they're at to provide the care they deserve. Send me a message telling me about your furry friend! I am currently freelancing from home, so I’m extremely flexible and am available at any time during the day, weekdays and weekends. The only exception is a short volunteer shift that takes me out of the house from 10am to 2pm on Fridays. I share my space with my partner (also an animal lover, though I will be handling caring for your pet) and our five year old lab, Murphy. Murphy is calm and well-socialized with both cats and dogs of all breeds and sizes. He knows cats well, and mostly just ignores them but is happy to share the couch or his bed. We typically go for three walks a day, plus a potty break before bed. On walks, I am confident and calm handling a leash with positive reinforcement, and let your pup take all the time they want to sniff and explore. I can walk your dog with Murphy or walk them separately according to your preference, and our schedule is flexible to meet your furry friend’s needs. Whether it’s an occasional walk or a longer stay in our home, there will always be an open dialogue between us so I can ensure your animal gets the best care I can provide.
“Mathilde & César are wonderful pet parents and were tremendous with taking care of my large senior dog. Got lots of pictures during the day, and Lewis (their friendly Beagle) got along great with my dog on walks and at the park. Looking forward to the next one with them, merci encore!”

“Naomi and Oscar were great with Jack. There was good communication and I received pictures throughout the day so I knew he was calm and confortable. I really recommend them!”

“Sarah s’est très bien occupée de Uta, disponible toute la journée. Il s’est très bien entendu avec Mocha, la chienne de Sarah. Malgré la neige et le temps, elle l’a emmené se promener quand même, et ne s’est pas uniquement contentée de son jardin! Très apprécié. Je recommande et n’hésiterais pas dans le futur!”

“Phoenix is not used to being left with strangers but when we picked him up after 5 hours with Joy, he didn’t want to leave her side. I heartily recommend Joy. She is a true dog whisperer.”

“Max was getting very anxious when he sees that we are getting ready to head out and doesn't touch his food. Misa took care of Max and took hom for walks. Max looked happy and he ate as well at her place. Her 2 dogs are also very friendly and accommodating to other dogs.”

About: Taking care of dogs has always been a part of my life from an early age. I grew up with my dog, Lady; and dog sitting for my neighbours. I also have experience in special needs dog sanctuaries. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine! As a part-time university student, I have a flexible schedule that gives me plenty of time to focus on your pup’s needs—whether that’s long walks, playtime, feeding, or simply keeping them company. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for while you're away. I treat every client’s home with the same respect I would my own. I follow all instructions carefully—from feeding routines to walk schedules and house rules. I make sure pets feel safe and loved in their familiar space, keeping their routines consistent to reduce stress while you’re away. I also can keep you updated with messages and photos so you can relax knowing your pet (and home!) are in good hands.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Mont-Royal
Cheng was fantastic with our dog, Dax! She was kind, reliable, and kept us updated with photos and messages throughout his stay. Dax came home happy and well cared for, and we had complete peace of mind while we were away. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Cheng again. Highly recommend!

Excellent first time experience with a Rover dog sitter, especially for a last-minute request. Chloe was really great with communication and sharing photos of her day with my dog. My dog seemed happy to meet her dogs and was in a very cheerful mood when I picked him up. I would definitely recommend Chloe and her boyfriend as dog sitters. Thank you guys again.

Sarah is amazing, couldn’t be happier to have left my dog with her and her family (including her dog Mocha) today. She took excellent care of my senior 13 year old German Shepherd, checked in regularly through messages and pictures and was careful to consider his needs and limitations. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a loving home and day companion for their dog!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Mont-Royal commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in QC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 86% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
