“Kelly was terrific and took very good care of our kitties. She went above and beyond when our power went out while we were away. She also kept in touch with us during the entire duration so we knew everything was good at home.”

About: I have volunteered at a vet clinic, as well as volunteering at an animal rescue group. Recently adopted my very own feral cats Max and Mickey. I do 3 overnight shifts a week, so can spend all day with your animals making sure that they are having lots of walks, cuddles and play time. I only pet sit in clients home, due to apartment regulations as well as I have two cats. I always do a meet and greet with each client to discuss the pet’s needs and the best ways to take care of them.

About: I have years of experience caring for pets of all ages, including senior dogs who need extra patience and gentleness. I'm also a runner and love taking high-energy dogs on long walks, runs, or outdoor adventures to help them burn off steam. I treat every animal like family and always aim to match their energy, personality, and needs. With an open and flexible schedule, I’m able to dedicate my full attention to pet care. I’m available throughout the day for walks, playtime, feedings, and any other needs your pet may have. I treat every home and pet with the same care and respect I would my own. I keep routines consistent, maintain a calm and clean environment, and make sure pets feel safe, loved, and relaxed while you're away. Whether it's house sitting, pet sitting, or daily walks, I prioritize trust, communication, and keeping your pets happy and healthy.

About: I am originally from Abitibi-Témiscamingue, a region in Quebec where nature plays a significant role in daily life. Recently retired as a teacher, I’ve relocated to Nanaimo to be closer to my daughter, while staying active by offering support to families in need of assistance with their pets and homes during their absence. Having previously required such services, I deeply appreciate the importance of those who care for loved ones. My experience has equipped me to attend to animals' needs, including walks, health care, diet, always taking into account the specific preferences of both the pets and their owners. I have been delighted to offer pet-sitting services at home, whether for days or weeks. I travel across Vancouver Island and its surroundings (Victoria, Quadra Island, Cumberland, Comox, Gabriola Island, Cedar, etc.), always excited to discover new places while taking care of the animals. I look after your pet at home, ensuring your environment is preserved while guaranteeing your companion's safety. I take into account their personality, routine, and instructions regarding outings (locations, interaction with other animals, etc.).

“Kayla did a drop in visit for us and she was awesome from start to finish. She's very communicative and clearly adores animals. I'll definitely use her services again! Thank you Kayla ?”

I would 100% recommend her and use her again in the future! Thank you so much for everything Jacqueline.”

About: I’ve been very fortunate to get to spend my life around animals, and each one has brought so much joy and purpose to my days. From energetic puppies to sweet seniors, I’ve cared for furry friends of all ages and personalities, always striving to understand and meet their unique needs. Whether it’s ensuring they get plenty of exercise, sticking to their feeding routine, or providing extra cuddles, I make their happiness my priority. I take pride in anticipating their needs—whether it’s noticing when they’re ready for a water break during a walk, spotting when they’re feeling anxious, or offering an extra blanket on a chilly night. My goal is to make sure your loved ones feels safe, loved, and completely at ease while you’re away, giving you peace of mind. I'm a retiree, living independently without pets of my own to care for, due to roommate allergies. I have a reliable vehicle and am available for house/pet-sitting both in the Courtenay/Comox area and Tsawwassen/Delta (where my daughter lives). Needless to say, my schedule is flexible and I'll do my best to accommodate you and your pet's schedule. At this time I am unable to care for pets in my home however, I am very flexible in caring for your furry loved ones in their home, where they're most comfortable :)

About: If given the choice between becoming a multi-millionaire or having my beloved pets live as long as I do, I would choose the latter—without hesitation. Hi, I’m Codie, founder of Tails of the North, a pet care service I co-created with my fiancé, Jordan, here in beautiful North Vancouver. We are passionate about building a reliable, heart-led service for your four-legged companions. I’m currently welcoming new dog walking clients—both solo and pack walks, Monday through Friday—as well as housesitting opportunities. ⸻ 🐾 About Me Animals have always been at the center of my world. I bring a calm, grounded energy to every interaction and believe that animals can sense when they are in safe, loving hands. From a young age, I was taught that trust must be earned with animals—and I carry that principle into every introduction with your pet. I take pride in creating bonds that are rooted in empathy, curiosity, and care. I use positive reinforcement, structure, and lots of love to help animals feel secure, seen, and celebrated. Whether it’s a long walk in the rain or simply being present with a nervous pup, I am committed to being a consistent, compassionate presence in your pet’s life. ⸻ 🌿 My Background Originally from Vancouver Island, I recently relocated to the North Shore, leaving behind a loyal group of furry friends and clients that I cared for deeply. The journey of Tails of the North began when I adopted my spirited little mini Husky, Misha, during the pandemic. She reminded me of what truly lights me up—and helped me take the leap from the corporate world into a life and career filled with meaning. I’ve never looked back. This work is my calling. ⸻ 🐕 My Experience Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, temperaments, and needs. From playful puppies to wise seniors, from calm cuddlers to anxious or reactive pups—I meet every dog where they’re at with patience, understanding, and intention. My approach is gentle yet structured, informed by years of hands-on experience, client feedback, and ongoing research into animal behavior. Every dog I care for teaches me something new, and I’m endlessly inspired to continue learning and evolving. ⸻ 🐶 My Pets My bond with animals runs deep. At age ten, I met my first true teacher: Sammy, a 120-lb Shepherd-Malamute with a heart as big as his paws. He was my childhood protector, friend, and gentle giant. Today, I share my life with Misha, my brave and joyful mini Husky who continues to inspire me with her fearless curiosity and boundless spirit. She may be small, but her presence is mighty. To me, pets are not just companions—they are family. ⸻ 💫 My Promise to You When you trust me with your pet, you’re not just hiring a dog walker or sitter—you’re gaining a dedicated, detail-oriented caregiver who treats your animals and home with the highest level of respect and love. ✅ Your dog will be: • Safe, stimulated, exercised, and cared for • Showered with love and attention • Given personalized, routine-consistent care • Provided with frequent photo and video updates (yes, I’m that person) ✅ Your home will be: • Clean, tidy, and respected • Left exactly as you found it—or better My goal is to give both you and your pets peace of mind, joy, and support while you’re away or busy with life’s demands. ⸻ Let’s Connect I know how hard it can be to find someone you truly trust with your fur family. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions—or ask for references. I’d be happy to help you feel completely comfortable and confident in your decision. Looking forward to meeting you and your pet soon! Warmly, Codie Founder, Tails of the North North Vancouver, BC 🐾 ⸻ My schedule is fairly flexible. Ask me about dog walks and house sitting. I have most of the summer off to dedicate my time to your fur babies. I’m a naturally calm and grounded person, which allows me to tune into your pet’s unique personality, needs, and boundaries. I approach every animal with deep respect—honouring their routines and preferences, and caring for them as if they were my own. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and emotional well-being are my top priorities. I follow all your instructions with care and attention to detail, and I take pride in maintaining a clean, respectful presence in your home. Most of our day is spent playing, exploring, walking, or visiting the beach—providing your dog with the physical activity and mental stimulation they need to stay happy and balanced. For pups who prefer a slower pace, I offer gentle companionship, enrichment activities, and quiet bonding time. I make sure your dog’s water and food are topped up as needed, and that they receive plenty of affection and attention along the way. My goal is always to ensure your pet feels safe, seen, and loved in your absence.

About: I have about 15 years of pet-sitting experience, with plenty of references in the San Francisco Bay Area, and British Columbia. The vast majority of my pet-sits have been through word-of-mouth, as previous clients automatically refer me to their friends, but I am also appreciating the service that Rover provides! I’m responsible, trustworthy, and care deeply about animals. I keep homes filled with warm energy, and bring comfort and fun to animal companions. I have sat for dogs, cats, chickens and a lizard! I have also dealt with special needs animals, including medication administration. I look forward to hearing from you! Why I love dog sitting Lifetime animal lover. Had dogs and cats in my extended family, and have experience taking care of many different types of animals. Makes me feel good to help animals live the best life they live. :-) I have a flexible schedule that I can arrange myself, and I enjoy giving pets as much time as I possibly can. I am very pet-centered. I care by paying attention. It's like having a child in the house; they are dependent on me as their caregiver, and they deserve to have their needs attended to. I don’t have much of a weekly routine, so it fits in quite nicely! I decide what my days look like for the most part. I care for pets in other people’s homes by paying attention to them! They are dependent on me for their care and survival and they deserve happy lives. I actually don’t have a routine, so it fits in quite well! I am able to plan my days around pet care instead of the other way around. I am not one who can just ignore an animal and pretend it’s not there because its wants and needs are inconvenient. They are beings that depend on us for love and survival, so I am very attentive to their needs.
