“Melissa is amazing!! She sent so many pics and videos during our pups stay and gave us updates frequently. Can’t wait for our pup to stay with Melissa again. Highly recommend!!!”

“This was our first time using rover for our dogs and we couldn’t have picked a better sitter, we felt that our dogs were in great hands. Loryn gave us a detailed update and photos of our dogs, she even made some cute magnets for us too. We will definitely be using Loryn again!!”

“My dog was in daycare all week with Melissa and he came home with his energy spent! Melissa and her family love dogs, and I liked that their dog, same size as mine, played together a lot. I highly recommend Melissa to care for your dog!”

“Truly incredible!! Thank you again SO MUCH for helping us out on such short notice! My family and I had decided to keep our dogs at home while we hosted a kids birthday party instead of organizing them to go to a sitter. Long story short we ended up needing to find a sitter asap (they were too overstimulated with the amount of people) and were so lucky to have found Amanda and her husband. Not only were we short notice (reaching out and bringing them by within the same hour) but this was also our first time meeting them. Things could not have gone better!! She was so kind, understanding, and extremely helpful in our time of need. We will definitely be booking again with her in the future! (Next time we’ll be sure to plan ahead of time though 😉☺️)”

“I couldn't be happier with the care my dog received. From the very beginning, it was clear that you genuinely love and understand dogs. You took the time to make sure my dog felt comfortable, safe, and happy throughout the stay. I really appreciated the regular photo updates and messages. It gave me great peace of mind knowing that my dog was being so well cared for while I was away. You were attentive to every detail, from feeding and walks to making sure my dog got plenty of attention and affection. When I picked my dog up, he/she was relaxed, happy, and clearly had a wonderful time. It's not easy to find someone you can completely trust with your pet, but you exceeded all my expectations. Thank you for treating my dog like part of your family. I would absolutely book with you again and highly recommend you to anyone looking for a caring, responsible, and trustworthy pet sitter.”

“I recently had the pleasure of leaving my dog, Tobi, and M&M, in the care of Vanessa for daycare and two nights of boarding. I cannot express how grateful I am for the exceptional care they received. Vanessa’s genuine love for animals is evident in every interaction. Tobi, usually anxious when away from home, was calm and happy upon my return. M&M, who can be quite playful, were equally content and well-looked after. Vanessa provided regular updates with photos, which was incredibly reassuring. She ensured they were all well-fed, exercised, and loved. Her attention to detail and dedication went above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend Vanessa for any pet care needs. She truly treats them as her own, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with her services. Thank you, Vanessa, for your outstanding care and professionalism!”

“My beagle pup loved his stay with Liliana. This is his second time away from us. Previously, with another sitter he wasn’t comfortable and never had a nap/slept. But I was happy that he was comfortable with Liliana. She regularly kept updating us on what he is doing and sent us pictures which was making our time away from him less-stressful. I’ll definitely recommend Liliana to others and will be dropping our puppy often with Liliana.”

Kripa was absolutely incredible. I had a last‑minute plan come up and needed an early drop‑off and a very late pickup. She was extremely accommodating, communicated quickly, and made everything feel effortless. Throughout the day she cared for my dog like he had his own personal assistant, keeping him entertained, happy, and healthy. I received tons of photo and video updates, which gave me complete peace of mind. Kripa is truly a dream pet sitter. I’m pretty sure my dog is already looking for an excuse to stay with her again. Highly recommend.

Julia was a very kind and caring sitter who took excellent care of Barney. She was also very accommodating with the early morning drop-off time I had requested, which I really appreciated. Her little pup, Jenny, is very loving and provided wonderful company as well. Barney was happy and well cared for, and I would gladly book with Julia again. Highly recommended!

My pup has stayed with Shelby before. This was a daycare visit that I booked a couple of weeks ago. Two days ago he injured his foot and had minor surgery. I let Shelby know that he had to have his foot covered and couldn’t be too rambunctious. She still took him and did an amazing job caring for him! I was felt really bad leaving him and was unsure but she sent me pictures and videos letting me know that he was fine. I am so grateful for her kind care of my pup.

Archie really enjoyed his time Chris! He shared timely updates and also used his training commands as we shared. Archie seemed at ease around Chris during the meet and greet and we are glad we moved forward with Chris! We're definitely going to be a repeat client.

Elisha took great care of my dog, Jackson, for an evening and everything went great. She was reliable, communicative, and made sure Jackson was well looked after. She was also super accommodating when I asked if I could change the drop off/pick up time. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Louise is 100% recommended!! From the moment we met her, I felt completely at his leaving my dog in her care. She’s a professional and showed a natural connection with my dog. She also took time to understand my dog’s routine preferences and quirks. Thank you Louise!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Oshawa commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 85% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
