About: We have had pets our entire life. Now retired and travel a few months a year, so currently without a pet because of our travels. Missing the love of our own pets (Scruffy lived to 17 and Cedes lived to 16). So we have decided that the love of your pets, would be lovely and would benefit all involved. We live 2 blocks from the beach, which gives the dogs a great run and or swim permitting of course :) My wife and I are both retired and walk to the beach everyday, would be nice to have a dog to walk with us. For the evenings it would be nice to cuddle up to a dog or cat. We live on the bottom floor of a pet friendly building, with access to a yard. We do have a wrap around deck with a 2 foot brick wall/planter that is gated to large partially fenced yard. Pics attached. We both have knowledge of caring for both dogs and cats.

“Kelly was terrific and took very good care of our kitties. She went above and beyond when our power went out while we were away. She also kept in touch with us during the entire duration so we knew everything was good at home.”

About: I'm a lifelong dog lover from the UK currently traveling around Canada. I’ve had dogs in my home all my life and have spent the last 7 years dog sitting for a wide range of breeds from energetic dogs who need long, adventurous walks, to older dogs who just enjoy a gentle stroll and relaxing in the park. I’ve also trained my own dog and a friends so I’m comfortable reinforcing commands. Being around dogs is something i miss while traveling, so I’d love the chance to help care for yours as if they were my own. I’m not working so I will be able to follow any routine the dog or animal has. I love to go on long walks so will happily take the dog out for as long as you recommend I am constantly aware of the animals in my care and keep an eye on them whether it’s in the garden at the park or in the house. This also mean I will follow any rules that the owner has set out

About: We love spending time with animals and caring for pets brings us true joy. Back home, my husband and I have a lively team of five mischiefs: three senior dogs, one young dog, and a cat. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or providing care, We’ll ensure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved. We are working part time and can choose our own schedule for taking care of your pets. We are available every day except for some specific days. Sometimes we’ll be taking care of your pets together and other times one of us may take the lead, as we both enjoy spending time with dogs and cats. Feel free to ask and get to know us:) We provide care for pets in the comfort of their own home, ensuring they feel safe and secure in their familiar environment. Our services include: • Feeding and Fresh Water: Making sure your pet stays nourished and hydrated according to their regular schedule. • Exercise and Playtime: Engaging in walks, play sessions, or other activities to keep them physically and mentally stimulated. • Litter Box and Clean-Up: Keeping their living space clean by managing litter boxes or cleaning up any accidents. • Medication Administration: If your pet requires medication, I can administer it responsibly and as directed. • Companionship and Comfort: Spending quality time with your pet to reduce loneliness and ensure they feel loved while you’re away. • Routine Maintenance: Ensuring their bedding, toys, and feeding areas are tidy and in good condition. • Safety Checks: Monitoring your pet’s well-being and ensuring their environment remains hazard-free.

I love all animals and give intentional care for their needs, as every pet is different! Also lots of experience house sitting with or without animals present. I am able to do overnight care during week days but work during the day. Weekends are dedicated to walks, adventure, and play, wherever we end up! My suite has a fenced grass yard and enough space to offer downtime for my dog and yours if they need it. We live close to trails and I have a very pet friendly and safe suv for outings! Note: My doggo indie is my partner in adventure and joins me if we go places locally. She is well trained and loves people, dogs, and cats!

“Kathryn took good care of my cats and they really seemed to like her based on the photos. She made it easier to leave for my trip knowing they were in good hands”

About: I am originally from Abitibi-Témiscamingue, a region in Quebec where nature plays a significant role in daily life. Recently retired as a teacher, I’ve relocated to Nanaimo to be closer to my daughter, while staying active by offering support to families in need of assistance with their pets and homes during their absence. Having previously required such services, I deeply appreciate the importance of those who care for loved ones. My experience has equipped me to attend to animals' needs, including walks, health care, diet, always taking into account the specific preferences of both the pets and their owners. I have been delighted to offer pet-sitting services at home, whether for days or weeks. I travel across Vancouver Island and its surroundings (Victoria, Quadra Island, Cumberland, Comox, Gabriola Island, Cedar, etc.), always excited to discover new places while taking care of the animals. I look after your pet at home, ensuring your environment is preserved while guaranteeing your companion's safety. I take into account their personality, routine, and instructions regarding outings (locations, interaction with other animals, etc.).

“What an amazing experience! I was super nervous to leave Sitka for such a long trip. My worries were instantly dismissed when I met barb . Sitka can be a grouchy lil lady and barb handled it with such grace! I loved all the photos that got sent each day!”

About: I have been a dog mom for over 12 years. Moon (my Boston Terrier cross) is a kind, charismatic guy who loves to make new friends. I no longer offer boarding in my own home, but we are happy to come to you! Moon is the perfect guest - extremely well behaved and completely house trained. He doesn't chew on anything except his own toys. We will leave your home clean & tidy, just like we like our own house to be. More about pet care experience: My first Boston Terrier, Hugo, lived for 10 years. Unfortunately, he suffered from heart disease, so the last 2 years of his life involved a lot of vet visits and medication. I had to adapt my work schedule to fit his care. I am now self employed, with knowledge of how to care for a sick/senior animal and administer medication on a schedule. In addition to the little guys, I have experience caring for large breeds as well! My brother had a 120lb Cane Corso for 12 years who I used to babysit when he wasn't around. I also took care of my friend's 90lb Siberian Husky in my home for 4 months after she had knee surgery and could't get him the exercise he needed. I am a self employed photographer/content creator who works from home when I'm not out exploring. Each morning I take my dog Moon for a long walk (at least 3km) around our neighbourhood. In the afternoon we like to visit a local dog park for social time. I'm able to work remotely and like to keep my environment clean. You'll always come home to a tidy house! Where I go, Moon goes - so your dog (or cat) will have a pal during the stay. He is also very clean and respectful.

“Jillian is such a sweetheart, and my girl Roxy really seems to like her. She stayed with Roxy while my partner and I went out for dinner as Roxy has separation anxiety and Roxy was chill and slept while we were gone! Would recommend Jillian to anyone!”

About: I have experience in dog walking, training, daycare and grooming. I have also volunteered in many shelters, walking shelter dogs. I know basic dog first aid and also happen to love dog photography! I have experience with all dog breeds and there is no dog too big or small. I have owned dogs all my life and have lots of experience with puppies all the way to seniors. I am also happy to provide ear cleanings, nail trims and baths. If you’re looking for someone who loves your pet just as much as you do, you have found the right person! In my personal life I do contracting work and am available almost any time for you and your dogs needs! Im looking for some more furry friends to fill my days! I have two of my own dogs! A French bulldog and a dachshund. I am open to having group walks or just one on one walks. I am also open to taking your pups on various hikes as it is one of my passions. I am available for check ins or staying around if your pup has anxiety with being home alone. I am available to send updates anytime you would like to know how your dog is doing during our time together.

Isobel S.Star Sitter
“Isobel has looked after our home and pets on many occasions, staying in our home so our pets are disrupted as little as possible. Our pets include, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 rabbit, 1 hamster, 4 chickens and a tortoise, so quite a complex list of needs to meet. Isobel took such good care of them I'm fairly sure the dogs looked sad we were home. Our home was really well taken care of in our absence and I would have no reservations recommending Isobel to someone.”
