About: I grew up with dogs and have always considered them family. Our first dog, Sasha, was adopted four months before I was born and had significant behavioural needs. She was my best friend for thirteen wonderful years, and caring for her taught me patience, attentiveness, and how important it is to meet each dog where they are. Since then, my family has had two more dogs, and I’ve gained experience caring for seniors, managing specialized diets, preparing food, and handling unexpected veterinary concerns. Our current dog, Zyler, has canine megaesophagus and requires specialized food preparation and feeding techniques. He’s a lot of work, but he’s also the absolute love of my life! I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and taking the time to make sure each dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. I am a full time student. I have 3-5 hours of non-negotiable commitments during the week, but I am a homebody and I can be around constantly outside of synchronous in-person classes. I am free Tuesdays. Saturday’s and Sunday’s without restrictions I care for pets by taking my cues from your animal. Having been a foster volunteer, I am aware of signals and cues and how to respect an animal’s boundaries while caring for their needs.
