Every workday I start each morning with a trip to the gym, then come home and take the pups on a nice, extended walk through the Metroparks near my house. Once we’re home, I settle into work for a few hours while the dogs get some downtime. I have a fenced-in yard, so I like to let them out regularly throughout the morning to stretch their legs, sniff around, and get some fresh air. Lunchtime means another extended walk! It’s a great way to break up the workday and give everyone a chance to burn off some energy. Afterward, my own dog usually settles in for a well-earned afternoon nap while I finish up work. Once the workday wraps up, we usually head outside for one more walk before settling in for the evening. If everyone’s feeling a little less energetic, we’ll skip the walk and have some backyard fun instead, such as fetch, tug-of-war, or just general goofing around.
