“Kylie did a wonderful job dropping in on our cats during our week long trip! We met beforehand and she made sure we were comfortable. She really paid careful attention to detail—disposed all litter and food cans so I didn’t come home to a stinky mess. Swept up scattered litter, and even took care of the trash bins. Over the years we’ve had friends and family members, and sometimes paid neighbor kids to watch our cats while we’re gone. This is by far the best experience for all! Thank you so so much!! We will definitely be booking other visits with you in the future.”

About: Animals seem to gravitate to me, I have never had an issue befriending a stray dog, cat, or even llama. I’m always that one guy in the room petting the dog. I have a natural knack for animal care as well and spend a lot of time just being friends with my pets. I am currently looking for a part time, flexible job that allows me to be with my family more. Therefore I am currently not working as I look and I am fully available. I have a couple of schedule items that I work around but overall I have a very open schedule that pet care will work wonderfully with. In my home we have more of a relaxed environment. Dogs are allowed to run around the home freely for most hours of the day. Cats are allowed to roam the catio outside freely. No cats are indoors and dogs are let outside twice daily to run and play and a third time just to use the restroom. Dogs and cats are fed twice daily and water is freely available. In a clients home I follow any guidelines they have.
“I appreciated Paulin's quick action and availability to visit my dog at such short notice. She had great communication, professionalism, and sweetness towards my dog. Looking forward to booking Paulin again.”

About: Caring for animals isn't just something I do it's something I truly love. It all started with my first job as a dog bather, where I learned how to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. That passion grew into earning my Veterinary Assistant license in high school, followed by two years of hands on experience as a Kennel Technician first at a boarding facility, then at a veterinary clinic caring for dogs and cats of all ages and needs. Let's set up a meet and greet so I can start spoiling your pet! 🐶🐱 I’m currently freelancing, which means I have plenty of availability for daily walks, drop-in visits, and home care the perfect way for your pet to get all the attention, exercise, and love they need while you’re away! 🐾 I'll keep your dog or cat's routine steady with feeding, playtime, and lots of love, while your home stays clean and cozy. I'll send photos and videos along the way, so you always have a little smile waiting for you. 🐾📸💕
About: I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life! We had a family dog when I was growing up and I would house/ pet sit for my neighbors when they would go out of town. I currently have three fur babies. A 3 year old Cane Corso/ Stafford Terrier named Moose, a 3 year old pit bull mix named Oakley and a cat named Romeo! Having three animals under one roof has been quite the experience but I’ve loved every moment of the chaos. Since I currently work from home full time I’m available Monday- Sunday most weeks and my schedule is pretty flexible. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out. Working from home allows me to keep a close eye on your baby and adhere to whatever potty break or play schedule you have set.
“Sabrina was excellent!! She took great care of our cats and our home!!! The kitty’s loved her and they look forward to having her back again!!!! She gets so the stars!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Jeanette is so warm with my dogs and adapts to each of their personalities. She’s very patient with my shy girl and playful and loving with my dogs that are ready for a new friend. Jeanette made going back to work much less stressful”

“Monic was an amazing cat sitter, and I highly recommend her! She arrived on time for every visit, completed all of the care tasks exactly as requested, and spent quality time playing with our cats, in stead of just stopping by to refill food and water and scoop the litter box. From our very first meet and greet, it was obvious how much she genuinely loves animals. She was so patient and kind with our cats, and they were comfortable with her right away. It made us feel completely at ease knowing they were in such caring hands while we were away. She also kept us updated throughout the visits, and coming home to a sweet handwritten note was such a thoughtful touch. It really showed how much she cares about both the pets and their owners. Thank you so much, Monic, for taking such great care of our cats! We wouldn’t hesitate to book with you again and will definitely reach out the next time we need a sitter.”

About: I’ve had my beautiful dog buttercup for about 10 years now and my cat Donnie for about 4 years. I’ve had multiple jobs housesitting for multi animal houses and can’t wait to add your loved ones to my experience. I have no professional obligations currently. The only task I have throughout the day is to drop my partner off to work at 5 AM and pick him up at 3 PM. Open to all care needs. About: I've loved dogs for as long as I can remember! For years, friends and family have trusted me to walk, feed, and care for their dogs while they're away. I understand that pets are family, and I enjoy making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether it's going for a walk, sticking to their feeding routine, or giving them extra attention and affection, I treat every pet with the same care I'd want for my own! I currently serve part-time in the Air Force Reserve, which gives me flexibility to care for your pets throughout most of the month! I’ll always communicate my availability in advance to ensure your furry family members receive the time, attention, and care they deserve! I have a fenced-in yard and no pets of my own, so your furry friend can enjoy a comfortable environment with plenty of attention! I’m happy to accommodate your dog’s usual routine, whether that means crate time, sleeping in their own bed, or having their bed right next to mine. I want every pet in my care to feel safe, secure, and at home. I’ll always respect your instructions, follow your pet’s routine, and make their safety and well-being my top priority!
About: As a former doggy daycare worker and someone who has taken care of two cats all of my life and two golden retrievers for the last 3 years, I’m the perfect fit to become your pet’s new bestie! With experience in giving medication to animals, and plenty of play time and walking experience, I’m fully equipped to handle any new task that comes my way. I can’t wait to meet your dog (or cat!) At the moment I work two jobs. I work at a medical rehabilitation facility on Saturday/Sunday 8-5 every weekend, with an hour in between (where I would be able to check in on your pup!) I also work around 12-5 Mon-Thurs, but these days are more flexible. Ideally, I’d prefer bookings with pups who are able to be at home by themselves for a few hours during the day! I will treat your home and pet supplies with the utmost respect. As your pet’s caretaker, whether it be to give them some playtime, cuddles, or just food or a walk, I promise to value your space like it’s my own.
About: I have experience with animals since I could walk. In my personal life I would best describe my passion as a certified collector of strays (cats , dogs, birds and insects . The list is very long :) . In my professional experience I’m very exposed to the knowledge and unique design in caring for animals . STORY TIME : * ****I met a pit bull ****At the age of 17 I went to one of my first parties with my friend ( I was still very shy and reserved, but was looking to dismantle my comfort zone ). I had a bad time and unfortunately I was followed walking on my route and hoped to just make it back home in the same pieces that I came with lol . Anyways I approached a dark neighborhood on my path and only two streetlights worked and sarcastically I was excited to be walking under one the moment I locked eyes with THEE most Beautiful & intimidating Pit Bull I’d ever been blessed with eyes to see and a body to run that couldn’t move and was actually not breathing to well either 😅So I did what any rational human would in this situation and called her and told her to come here “sweetie” and she Bolted towards me … arms out stretched shaking in my wee lil boots I prayed lol and she jumped up on my shoulder and licked my face and I was at awe 🥹. She walked me home (2miles) and we actually got stopped by a couple who told me I have a beautiful dog and I explained she wasn’t mine and asked if they wanted to try and keep her but she never left my side . I’ve never felt so safe and happy all at once at 12 midnight imagine what love can do !!! I lived in that same area for three extra years and never seen her again . The End My professional experience consists of working side by side as an acting vet assistant where I learned to chip dogs , feed them medicine, clean kennels, walk them and feed them their food . I also worked as a canine coach where I oversaw 1-28 dogs at a time play with them talk to them prevent them from being in danger making it the best environment possible . I aspire to build my abundance in what I love and that’s more love the definition manifested in all creations especially ones with big beautiful baby eyes and youthful hearts Animals :) Hi I’m Ta Manda and I’m your PETS NEW BESTIE🦄❤️🎁!! ( so cheesy and I love it lol) I am currently invested in becoming independent, I am open to gaining more experience so other than Uber I’m all yours ❤️ please just reach out :) I love forming lasting bonds with the pets I care for and would be thrilled to stay connected and visit them even after my services are complete. I believe that doctor dolittle was inspired by Myself so honestly I do have conversations with them down to moths I believe they are listening and if you’re still enough you can tell they understand you .
About: I’ve cared for dogs for over 25 years and used to have two Yorkies and a Maltipoo — they were my babies! I naturally connect with dogs and treat every one as family. Friends often call me their dogs’ favorite pet grandma because I spoil them with love, gentle cuddles, and lots of attention. I create a calm, safe, and happy space where each pup feels understood, cared for, and truly at home. I recently moved from Ukraine to be closer to my kids and grandkids. I’m available throughout the whole week and have a very flexible schedule. Caring for dogs brings me joy, so I’m happy to spend quality time with your furry friends whenever you need — weekdays or weekends.h I have open front and back yards where I can safely walk your furry babies or take them for a relaxing stroll to the closest park. I always make sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved — just like they’re part of my own family.
About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs through my work as a pet bather and trainee, where I bathed, groomed, and safely handled dogs of different sizes and temperaments. I also have experience caring for my own dog and recently fostered a dog for a week. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, bathing, playtime, basic routines, and giving pets patience and attention. I understand that every pet has different needs and personalities, so I focus on keeping them comfortable, safe, and cared for. I currently have a flexible schedule and can dedicate plenty of time to caring for pets. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, and boarding depending on the day and service needed. I’m able to give pets consistent attention, playtime, exercise, feeding, and companionship rather than simply stopping by and leaving. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
