“Deanna was an absolute gem as my dog sitter. My dog, Koji, and I feel so lucky to have found her. She is a truly kind and wonderful person who provided thoughtful, gentle, and loving care to my senior dog. It gave me such peace of mind knowing Koji was in such capable and compassionate hands. I wholeheartedly recommend Deanna’s services.”

About: I am as reliable, flexible, and obsessed with animals as they come! Having grown up helping my parents with their petsitting business, I am experienced and familiar with the ins and outs of caring for other people's pets and homes. I also have three cats of my own who are the loves of my life, and have lived with several wonderful dogs over the years. As a long time Rover user, I know all too well how important it is for a sitter to send timely, thoughtful, and detailed updates after each visit. I strive to provide the same level of communication that I'd hope to receive about my own pets because I know how much this helps put your mind at ease while you're away. In addition to the services listed on my profile, I'm eager to help out in other ways that you might need - watering plants, receiving packages/bringing in the mail, etc. I'm happy to discuss this in more detail if there's anything else I can do for you. Looking forward to meeting you and your pets! :) I care for pets full-time, which allows me to be adaptable to other people's varying schedules when needed. Plans change, and things happen! We'll make it work. The flexibility in my schedule allows me to accommodate last minute bookings under most circumstances. I currently cannot care for pets in my home, as I unfortunately do not have the space needed to provide this service to customers right now.
“Erin is absolutely fantastic and our dogs love her! I was able to connect with her same day and she was over at a moments notice. Immediately trusted her with my high energy German short hair to run/walk off leash. Birdie loves Erin and so do we!”

“Rachel was excellent! I needed a pet sitter last-minute (on a holiday no less!) and she came to the rescue. Rachel was very responsive, punctual and my dogs were smiling in all the photos so I think things went well!”

“Susan did a wonderful job taking care of my pets this weekend! She was able to schedule a meet-and-greet on short notice and was very thorough collecting the care instructions for my two large dogs and three cats. She was so patient with my very large and active Labradoodle and St. Bernadoodle. My dogs seemed very attached to her quite quickly and she did a fantastic job with them. She arrived promptly according to the care schedule, sent detailed updates and was extremely professional and lovely to work with. I am so happy to have found such an excellent sitter in my area and will gladly continue to rebook Susan!! Highly recommended!”

“Mike was great! We had lots of conversation before the walks. Mike was prompt and messaged me throughout his visit. I highly recommend Mike if you’re looking for a pet sitter of any kind.”

About: Grew up with a senior dog as well as sitting for all of my neighbors. Experience with all equipment (harnesses, leaders, muzzles, etc.) Available 24/7 for whatever care you need, want to make everyone happy and comfortable! :) I just graduated from Fordham in May and am fully remote for my internship this summer, so I am around all the time for whatever needs you and your family might have! When house sitting, I can stay in your home full-time if necessary to keep your dog's routine as normal as possible. I follow your feeding schedule, walk schedule, and any specific instructions you leave, I believe consistency is key to keeping dogs calm and comfortable while you're away. I'm attentive to your dog's behavior and energy levels throughout the day, and I make sure they're getting enough activity, stimulation, and rest. I'm comfortable with all walking equipment including harnesses, gentle leaders, and muzzles, and always keep dogs secure on leash. I treat your home with the same respect I'd want for my own. I send regular photo updates throughout the stay so you're never left wondering how your pup is doing. I'm happy to accommodate any special needs, medications, dietary restrictions, or quirks — just let me know what your dog needs and I'll make it happen.
“Trish (Patricia) is wonderful. Her communication is great and her love for animals is apparent. I know my pepper is in good hands. I’m so glad I found her. I highly recommend Trish for your pet needs.”

About: I’ve been working with and caring for animals my entire life. My experience includes working as a vet tech, groomer, trap & release, spay & nueter programs, pet sitting, dog walking, animal transport, rescue and fostering. I am also comforable with administering medications and working with all personality traits. I understand the pack dynamic and am not intimidated when handling multiple pet type homes and dogs of all sizes. I am patient and animals respond well to my calm and confident nature. I work full time through out the school year and part time during the summer and can easily adjust my work schedule to accommodate drop in visits and dog walking services. Visiting pets can be crated if needed or gated in their own room while I am away from home. While I am home they will be free to roam the house and enjoy outside time safely in my fenced in yard.

“Olivia was amazing! Kept me updated with pictures of my dogs and answered any questions I had! She even took it a step further to help clean up his hair balls (I have a husky)! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!”

“Isis was very professional and helped walk our dog Reba 3 days. My dog is very timid but Isis did not disappoint, she helped us out so much! Communication was also top notch and I really appreciate that. Thanks Isis! Will be booking you again in the future!”

About: Hi! I’m Shauna, and I’ve been caring for pets through Rover for about six years. My boyfriend, Nixley, is my helping hand, so it may be me, him, or both of us caring for your fur babies! About: I’ve always loved animals and have several years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes, and personalities. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pets like family. I’m comfortable with everything from energetic puppies to older dogs who may need a little extra patience and attention. I’m responsible, attentive, and happy to follow each pet’s individual routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, and any special care instructions. I know that every dog is different, so I take the time to get to know their personality and make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while they’re in my care. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel completely at ease while you’re away. Pet care fits well into my schedule, and I’m able to provide care before and after work as well as on weekends. I have a consistent weekday schedule, so I’m able to plan visits and walks around my work hours and make sure I can give each pet the time and attention they need. I’m also available for longer visits and extended care when my schedule allows. I’m reliable and communicative, and I’ll always make sure we agree on a schedule that works well for both you and your pet. When caring for pets in my clients’ homes, I make it a priority to keep their normal routine as consistent as possible. I follow all feeding, walking, medication, and care instructions closely and make sure pets receive plenty of attention, playtime, and affection. I’m respectful of clients’ homes and always leave everything clean and as I found it. I understand that being away from their owner can be stressful for some pets, so I’m patient and attentive to their individual needs and personalities. I’m also happy to provide updates and photos so you can feel reassured that your pet is safe, comfortable, and having a great time while you’re away.
About: I’m a 41 year old professional who loves animals. I have a 4 year old cat of my own and have always wanted a puppy as a child. Animals are loving and calming to me. I help care for them they help me. I will dog walk which keeps them happy and me active. I will drop in on cats and dogs to feed play with and help go to the bathroom. If it’s the right fit for your family and pup I would stay 1 night a week and definitely weekends overnight while people are away or traveling. I am an open communicator, reliable, respectful, trustworthy professional. Please get to know me so I can get to know you and your animal has the best experience possible. I currently have lots of availability and I would be my pleasure to walk and check in for your pups and cats several times a week. I have a yard on a dead end street, a big basement and am very close to Wilcox Park, ready for long walks in great neighborhood with lots to explore.
About: I've had at least one dog in my house since I was in first grade. My first dog is no longer with us however, I currently have a 9-year-old black lab and a 7-month-old silver lab. My dogs love to go on hiking trails, and with your permission, I can also take your dog to new locations. I unfortunately don't have experience with other people's dogs except for friends and family. I'm currently working part-time, so I'm very flexible with times. I will put my dogs' needs first, however, making sure I have time to give them the exercise and attention they deserve. My dogs are my best friends. I always show love and respect towards them. I also understand how a dog's life can be boring sometimes. Giving them a new environment to sniff out creates a happy and exhausted pup. I try to take my older dog on a new walk/hike every week to give them an adventure and something to look forward to. I'm hoping to provide the same for your dogs. I am also a runner, so I wouldn't mind running alongside your dog. Walking/hiking/running, whatever you prefer.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
