“Really appreciate Joslin's help with Arthur. He can sometimes get separation anxiety and shed a lot after a trip, but he didn't have that at all. She was also flexible with some of his feeding issues. 10/10 would recommend!”

About: My daughter Trenna and I grew up with dogs and cats and we love all their different personalities and they bring so much joy to our lives. When you get a dog it’s a commitment. They are our kids. I am looking for a partime job. What a fun opportunity to do something I love. I have three dogs/kids myself. I can’t wait to get home from work and. see their wiggly tails. They don’t care what kind of day you just had, they just want to love on you. When I am home they are wherever I am. During the day they are in their kennels. Two of them are not even 2 yet so they like their toys.
“Ronda always takes such great care of our kitty. Always appreciate her flexibility and Nola clearly loves the attention! Highly recommend Ronda for excellent cat sitting!”

“Amanda was very communicative throughout the entire process and did an incredible job checking in on my cat. Would 100% recommend Amanda and will definitely be using her services again in the future!”

“I’m so grateful to Vanessa for taking care of our two kitties. She met them for the first time and did a wonderful job. She is responsive and careful. I asked her to try to take a picture of each one of them every day, and she did. It gave me reassurance that they didn’t get stuck somewhere and were okay. She took the time to find them and show us a picture so we could rest assured. I will definitely have her back to cat sit for our girls during my next trip!”

“Such an amazing sitter! Kristin went above and beyond with caring for our cat. Can’t thank her enough! She gave us daily report cards of how he was doing and sent pictures too. Will definitely be booking again.”

“Arianne was great with our boy Carbon. It was his first time spending a night without me or my husband present since we got him 3+ years ago, and she made sure that it wasn't a bad experience for him. We definitely went overboard when it came to providing information about him, but Arianne was able to handle it all without issue. 6/5.”

“Marley was a life saver while we were out of town. She made sure that our cat Sophie had plenty of anything and everything she needed, including lots of love and affection. Marley sent us pics with every visit. I would definitely recommend Marley for your pet care needs”

“This was Cecilia and Kiya's first time meeting. I think it went pretty well. Kiya is a bit of a nervous cat and will stay away until she knows you better. She also has to have medicine every other day and sometimes is hard to catch. She likes having someone in the house all the time so me being gone stresses her. I think the second day Kiya actually played a little with Cecilia and wanted to be petted. Hopefully the next time I have to be gone things will be even better.”

“You’re so awesome! Thank you for the constant updates & making us feel secure and safe with our baby. I know he appreciated all of your love & we do too. Loved all of the pictures! Can’t wait to use you again!”

About: Over 10 years caring for dogs of all types—including high-energy breeds, seniors, and dogs with behavioral challenges. I've successfully boarded dogs with food aggression and anxiety, always providing a calm, safe, and structured environment. What Sets Me Apart: 🐾 Experience with difficult behaviors like food aggression 🐾 Comfortable with administering meds or special diets 🐾 Patient and confident handling all breeds and temperaments 🐾 Reliable and calm under pressure I treat every dog like family—with structure, respect, and lots of tail wags. Whether it’s a walk, drop-in, or overnight stay, I’ll keep your pup safe, active, and cared for like my own. Pet care is a regular part of my daily life, and I love building my schedule around it. I'm currently available mid-mornings through early evenings, which makes me a great fit for mid-day walks, afternoon check-ins, or evening feeding routines. I’m reliable, flexible, and make sure each pet gets the attention, exercise, and care they need—whether it’s a quick potty break or a longer walk. Right now, I have open spots in my schedule, so your pet will get plenty of dedicated one-on-one time! I provide dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting with a high level of care and attention. In a pet’s home, I stick to their regular routine as closely as possible—feeding, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and any special instructions like medication or crate time. I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and not alone while their owners are away. For walks and drop-ins, I focus on giving them exercise, mental stimulation, and affection. During house sitting, I also keep the home tidy and secure, so you come back to a happy pet and a well-cared-for space.
About: With 15 years of pet care experience, I've built a reputation as the sitter friends and family turn to when they need someone they can truly trust. Growing up surrounded by dogs and cats gave me an intuitive understanding of pet behavior, and over the years I've cared for countless breeds - from gentle giants to tiny lap dogs, anxious rescues to energetic puppies. What makes me different is my versatility and adaptability. I'm equally comfortable managing multi-dog households, caring for dogs and cats simultaneously, and adjusting to each pet's unique personality and needs. Whether you have a senior dog requiring gentle, patient care or a high-energy breed that needs extra playtime, I know how to read their cues and provide exactly what they need to feel safe and loved. My experience with diverse breeds and household dynamics means I can handle whatever curveballs your pets might throw - from managing pack dynamics to understanding breed-specific behaviors. I take pride in maintaining each pet's individual routine while ensuring harmony in multi-pet homes. You'll receive regular updates and photos throughout my visits, so you can relax knowing your furry family members are not just being watched, but truly cared for by someone who understands that every pet is someone's beloved companion. I have a flexible weekend schedule that allows me to prioritize your pet's needs. Having recently moved to western South Dakota, I'm excited to build lasting relationships with local pet owners and become a trusted part of this community. My open availability means I can easily accommodate various scheduling needs - whether you need early morning walks, midday check-ins, overnight stays, or last-minute care. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so pet sitting never feels like work to me. It's actually the highlight of my day! I'm happy to work around your pet's established routine and can be flexible with timing to ensure they receive consistent, reliable care. Whether your pet thrives on a strict schedule or is more go-with-the-flow, I'll adapt to what works best for them and your family. I believe the key to excellent pet care is maintaining consistency with your pet's established routine and household rules. When caring for pets in your home, I take detailed notes about their daily schedule, feeding times, favorite spots, and any house rules—whether that means staying off certain furniture or having free rein of the couch. Your pet's comfort stems from familiarity, so I ensure that nothing changes from their normal routine. I provide the same level of attentive care - regular exercise, plenty of affection, and constant supervision. I also maintain open communication throughout, sending updates and photos so you can see how well your pet is settling in and enjoying their time with me.

“Morgan was an amazing dog sitter! I received timely updates and notifications, which was great as I was out of town. Morgan was clearly committed to helping Sam despite less than ideal weather conditions. I will book her again without a doubt!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
