“Amanda was very communicative throughout the entire process and did an incredible job checking in on my cat. Would 100% recommend Amanda and will definitely be using her services again in the future!”

About: I am a middle school teacher who also happens to love animals. I have a 3 year old Border Collie / Great Pyrenees mix that I absolutely adore named Titan. I have experience walking, playing with, and boarding dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages. During the week, I am available for early morning, late afternoon/evening walks. I am completely open on weekends and holidays. Because I am a teacher, I will also have periods of extended availability due to the school breaks. As a teacher, I’m patient, attentive, and used to caring for others. I’ll treat your pet like my own, making sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, affection, and playtime. I’ll follow your routines and instructions closely and keep you updated so you can feel confident your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.
About: My daughter Trenna and I grew up with dogs and cats and we love all their different personalities and they bring so much joy to our lives. When you get a dog it’s a commitment. They are our kids. I am looking for a partime job. What a fun opportunity to do something I love. I have three dogs/kids myself. I can’t wait to get home from work and. see their wiggly tails. They don’t care what kind of day you just had, they just want to love on you. When I am home they are wherever I am. During the day they are in their kennels. Two of them are not even 2 yet so they like their toys.
“This is our second time booking drop in visits with Ronda for our cats- both have been great experiences! She’s reliable and easy to work with. Easy to communicate with and extremely competent! Not to mention she was readily available over the holiday so we could visit family out of town.”

About: For most of my life I've had a dog, his name Orvis, a beautiful Chesapeake Bay Retriever I love Orvis and took him out on many walks. A family friend who has two dogs had me take care of their babies for a couple of nights. My friend and I had a sleep over and it was really the 3 of us, me him and the cat, Midnight, still my favorite cat. Currently I pet sit full time, while also studying for my future. I love pets, dogs, cats, big and small. I love how they are cuddly and also a workout ;) I am a big rule follower, if you are telling me the pets need to be fed at an exact time, they will be fed then. These are your babies safety is my number one priority. I have even taken care of 2 dogs at the same time who had to be fed at the same time but different rooms.
“I’m so grateful to Vanessa for taking care of our two kitties. She met them for the first time and did a wonderful job. She is responsive and careful. I asked her to try to take a picture of each one of them every day, and she did. It gave me reassurance that they didn’t get stuck somewhere and were okay. She took the time to find them and show us a picture so we could rest assured. I will definitely have her back to cat sit for our girls during my next trip!”

“She took care of my girl and followed instructions! No issues my dog was so happy and comfortable. I will definitely be booking again for future visits! :) I needed someone to come hang out with my dog on Christmas Eve and it was so last minute. Extremely grateful!”

“Tina was very reliable and amenable to changing plans for the day, and our pups got plenty of attention on multiple walks throughout the day. Will use her services again and highly recommend.”

“Nate did a great job!!!! He was good with our dogs and they loved him. He used good judgment and took great care of them. He goes above and beyond. We will try and book Nate whenever we travel. It’s wonderful to leave town and know that your animals are well cared for. Nate does an outstanding job! Highly recommend.”

“Arianne was great with our boy Carbon. It was his first time spending a night without me or my husband present since we got him 3+ years ago, and she made sure that it wasn't a bad experience for him. We definitely went overboard when it came to providing information about him, but Arianne was able to handle it all without issue. 6/5.”

“Kristin is absolutely our top fav #1 sitter! Gretel and I have called Kristin in a couple times now to help us out and, as always, she is incredible. Gretel absolutely loved her from the start and i would say they are besties now! She is very punctual and flexible to our schedule and so very attentive to Gretel's needs. Gretel is everything to me and Kristin is very respectful of that. Actually, I think Gretel stole a piece of her heart as well as she did the rest of us! I would highly recommend Kristin to anyone that needs more than just a sitter. She has a good heart, and it easily shows! If we could give more stars, we would! Gretel the Ravenous and I give her the highest recommendation possible! Thank you Kristin!”

About: I'm an active gal who loves the companionship of a pooch while out and about. I love taking dogs on long walks or hikes through the woods or just down the city blocks for a quick leg stretch (and a bathroom stop). I'll be attentive to the needs of your dog, making sure they get plenty of activity, are well hydrated, and fed appropriately. While I don't have a dog of my own currently, I was a dog walker when I lived in New York City and I volunteered for two years with Border Paws Rescue in Rapid City caring for 5 - 10 pups for their pre-bedtime outings. I'm comfortable working with and providing a safe environment for the most goofy and social as well as the most solo and independent pups. I'm happy to accommodate any special needs you and your pup may have. I'm prompt and reliable. I hope to meet you and your pup soon! I work full time, but have flexibility to do bathroom breaks over lunch for kiddos that need more frequent outings. I can take pups on walks in the morning or evening depending on their activity needs. I have a small fenced in yard that is available for outside hangs. I am patient and kind and love to meet the needs of each pup where they are at. I have volunteered in a rescue and am comfortable around dogs of different temperaments.

“Mary was great with Fleurie, our 5-month old kitten. As new cat parents, we were a bit worried to leave our energetic little kitten at home by herself for four days, but Mary instantly put us at ease. Upon meeting Mary, we could tell that she really knows what she’s doing—perhaps more so than us. She had insight on how much food to leave Fleurie and tips regarding house lighting and the temperature level while away. She also kept in contact during her visits—with pictures and assurances that all was well. We’ll happily use Mary’s services in the future.”

I love active dogs and I will do whatever to make your dog feel at home! It can be scary leaving your dog with a stranger but I will treat your dog like my own! I am willing to take care of a dog over 50 lbs but under 70 lbs as long as they are well behaved and not aggressive, this is for the safety of me, my dog, and your dog. Let me know if your dog is an escape artist or jumps fences! I ask all pets to be up to date on their basic vaccinations please! I work in the military full time but have no social life so I am available on the weekends as needed! I am also available Friday nights! I have my own yard. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
