About: I have 5 dogs that are my kids. I am a stay at home dog mom. Your dog will be my dog while in my care. 4 are small and 1 medium sized. They are all fixed, UTD on shots and heart worm. All adopted from different states and shelters. They are between the ages of 10 and 12, and 1 senior who we believe is about 16. They are only crated at night if I go out for an extended period of time, except Charlie, the old man, he is out 24/7. We live on a half acre, fully fenced back yard (5 ft aluminum with puppy pickets). They can get on the furniture if they want and I have dog beds throughout the house. My dogs typically get on very well with other dogs. I dog sit 2 dogs in my home a few times a year for a few days to a week at a time. 1 medium and 1 large. I have fostered various dogs for Big Fluffy Dog Rescue in the past and I have helped and run adoption events at Petco for about a year for Simpson County Animal Shelter/Friends of the Shelter in Franklin KY. I am a stay at home dog mom. I can pet sit any time of the day or week, for just a few hours, a day or overnights. I only leave the house to go to the store or run a few errands. Typically not out for extended periods. If I am dog sitting, I prefer to be at home as often as possible. I am always around my dogs. I have dog beds in all areas of the house. I keep an eye on them when they go outside. I play with them regularly. When I get a new foster dog, I usually will keep them leashed for a little while until they get acclimated and used to the other dogs. You, my customer are more than welcome to come into my house and yard and meet myself, and my dogs.
“Jennifer and Michael are fabulous and very accommodating with my schedule. They treat Mack like one of their own and part of the family. I would highly recommend them!”

“Such a really nice couple who cared so well for our German Shepard!!! Maverick came home super happy and exhausted! We will definitely be using them in the future!!!”

“Megan was awesome! She was super communicative. I appreciated that she was so warm and welcoming to my two dogs, and even sent me pics! One of my dogs can be anxious leaving me and he was drawn to her immediately!”

“Jamie was a wonderful sitter ❤️ she was attentive and gracious and kept my puppy safe. Kuzco loved playing with her dogs and he was happy and well worn at the end of the day, which is hard to do with the puppy energy! Jamie was flexible with my last minute, changing schedule around the holidays and I am very thankful!”

About: Every dog is different, and I believe their care should be too. I take the time to learn each dog’s routine, personality, and preferences so they feel as comfortable as possible while you’re away. Whether your dog is playful, laid back, anxious, a puppy, or a senior, I’m happy to adjust my care to fit their individual needs. I understand that leaving your dog with someone new can be stressful, and I do everything I can to make the experience comfortable for both you and your dog. Whether you have a calm companion or a high-energy working breed that thrives on activity and engagement, I’m happy to tailor my care to fit their individual needs. Your dog’s safety and comfort will always come first. I never assume unfamiliar dogs will get along simply because they’re friendly. Introductions are done slowly, interactions are always supervised, and I’m happy to separate dogs whenever needed. Every dog deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and respected during their stay.

“Alexis and her family were wonderful with my 7 month old mini poodle pup. We ended up in a big jam and needed last minute day care for four days. I sent an inquiry at 8:30 the night before, and Alexis responded within a couple of minutes! She was also great at reporting in and sending photos. My pup was well cared for and had a wonderful time playing with their darling young son and sweet dog. Big thanks to Alexis and her terrific family!!”

“Simone was an absolutely wonderful sitter for Liam! At first I was a little hesitant because I saw she had three dogs, but do not let that deter you. Her dogs are so cute , and friendly, and my dog had such a fun time with them. In fact it was a plus!!! Her husband was also very kind with Liam. I highly recommend Simone.. and I would use her again in a heartbeat!!”

“Samantha was so kind and communicative. She accepted us last minute and was very accommodating with my work schedule that impacted a pick up time one evening. She was great with Jett and had her own harness, bowls, toys, and crate that she let Jett use during daycare. Highly recommend; would use her again!”

“I am so grateful for the wonderful care of my older "puppy" Grover who spent the day being cared for. I always know that he's in great hands. Highly recommend and will definitely rebook when needed.”

About: Hi I I'm Lexi and I’m completely OBSESSED with animals. I personally own a dog, 2 cats, a python and a bearded dragon. About: Hi, I’m Carrie! 🐾 Animals have always been at the heart of my life. For over 2 years I’ve volunteered at my local animal shelter, caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. That hands-on experience taught me patience, compassion, and the importance of treating every pet like family. Currently, I’m home full-time caring for my sweet senior dog, Sophia (15 years old, living with Cushing’s Disease). Making sure she is comfortable and loved has given me an even deeper appreciation for the trust it takes to leave your furry family member in someone else’s care. Because I’m at home, I can dedicate all the time and attention your dog deserves. Here’s what you can expect when your pet stays with me: Lots of love & attention – every pet is treated like my own family. No crating (unless required by you or for very brief times when I must step out). Safe, comfortable environment tailored to your pet’s needs. Experience with senior and special-needs dogs who may require extra patience and care. Regular updates & photos so you can feel confident and at ease while you’re away. Whether your dog loves long walks, snuggles on the couch, or simply a calm and caring presence, I’m here to provide the same quality of care I give my own beloved Sophia. Your pup’s happiness, safety, and comfort will always be my top priority. ❤️ I'm currently out of work to care for my senior girl, Sophia, that has had some complications with Cushing's Disease. Your pet will be under my full-time loving care at my home, or in your home. I offer both services. Your pet will only be crated when I need to step out momentarily. In my home, pets are part of the family! 🐾 I have a fully fenced one-acre yard where they can safely run and play, and when the weather’s nice, we’ll spend lots of time outside together. Indoors, your pup will be right by my side, whether that’s hanging out in the kitchen watching me cook or relaxing nearby. I don’t crate unless you request it or for brief times when needed. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I stick to their routine and give them plenty of attention, exercise, and love so they feel safe and comfortable until you’re back.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,047 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Boston. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Boston commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,047 sitters in Boston, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
