Kick off your day in the East Village with a “Bark & Stormy” cold brew for you and a treat for your dog at Boris & Horton, New York City’s first-ever cafe to be approved by the Department of Health.
After a sip and a nibble, stretch your paws at Tompkins Square Dog Park. Head downtown on Avenue A toward E 12th St, turn left at E 9th Street, turn right onto Avenue B and the dog park will be on the right.
Next up, saddle up to the bar or stake a spot on the patio at D.B.A. East Village for a cold craft beer. Head southwest on Avenue B toward E 8th St. Turn right onto E 7th St and left onto 1st Avenue and destination will be on the right.
Finish out your day with authentic Mexican cuisine catered to dogs at La Contenta Oeste. Head uptown on 1st Ave toward E 3rd and turn left onto E 4th Street. Continue onto West 4th Street and turn right onto Washington Square E and instantly turn left into Washington Square Park. Go through the park and take a right toward 5th Ave. Take 5th Ave for .2 miles and turn left onto W 11st Street. The destination will be on your left after 0.2 miles.

Tompkins Square Dog Run

Tompkins Square Park is a 10.5-acre public park in the Alphabet City section of East Village. The run features separate fenced-in areas for large and small dogs, a watering area, dirt & gravel ground cover, and a unique boardwalk-style seating area in the small-dog section. Bench seating, cleaning equipment, poop bags and waste bins are also available.
