Can My Dog Eat Cake?

Caring for Your Dog
By Kiki Kane

Maybe. If the cake does not contain chocolate, it is not toxic for dogs. However, cake contains unhealthy ingredients like sugar, fats, and wheat that are not optimal for a dog’s health. At best, they’re simply empty calories, and at worst, could trigger allergies or indigestion. If your dog has eaten cake, especially a large amount, keep an eye out for unusual behavior. Call your vet immediately if you see any of the following symptoms.
