“Amanda is the BEST! Being a new Rover user, I am very impressed with the ease and communication. We have a new puppy, Gruff, and working on the weekends was a bit worrisome leaving and finding good & loving care for his break. I reached out to Rover and instantly Amanda responded and we met the next day and our schedules aligned. She has very clear and concise communication which I love knowing when she arrives and leaves. She's very trustworthy and flexible for her visits. I feel very fortunate that we found Amanda and highly recommend her. Gruff seems very happy when we return which is a HUGE relief as he is our baby :) We are 100% satisfied and very grateful for Amanda and Rover. Thank you!”

“Karly came to my house once a day for 4 days to feed my 2 cats, the fish in my aquarium, my 14 hens and one wild hen turkey who recently moved in with the chickens. I also asked if she’d collect eggs. She had never fed chickens so I gave her directions for feeding. And collecting eggs. Oh - and she cleaned the cat box. So the cats hid each day she was here. Never saw them once. Seems like everything went smoothly. I think as a Rover pet sitter she went above and beyond the call of duty. I am very thankful she was here taking care of my critters. I hope she’s willing to return one day.”

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life, growing up with breeds of all sizes, energy levels, and personalities. From an energetic German Shorthaired Pointer who needed structure and consistency, to a retired, injured Rottweiler who required gentle care, patience, and awareness of physical limitations, I’ve learned how different every dog’s needs can be. I’ve also cared for a small but strong-willed Schnauzer who was loyal and protective, as well as a large, laid-back Sheepadoodle who loved affection and slow days. These dogs are family to me and through my 22 years of loving them I have become the ultimate dog lover. Beyond my own dogs, I’ve regularly watched friends’ and family members’ pets, giving me experience adapting to new routines, homes, and temperaments. I’m comfortable leash walking, reinforcing basic training, and maintaining boundaries while still making dogs feel safe and spoiled. I’ve helped raise and train my dogs from puppyhood, focusing on consistency, calm correction, and positive reinforcement. What sets me apart is my ability to balance genuine love for animals with attentiveness and responsibility. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m a recent graduate and am currently not working another job which means I have plenty of time and flexibility to focus fully on your pet’s needs. My schedule allows me to plan my day around walks, feedings, playtime, and any specific routines your pet is used to, rather than squeezing them in between commitments. In my home, pets have access to a yard for outdoor time, play, and bathroom breaks, along with plenty of indoor space to relax. I supervise outdoor time and make sure pets are always safe and comfortable. In a client’s home, I follow their established routines closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any training or care instructions. I prioritize keeping pets comfortable in their own environment.
About: I have been dogsitting and dog walking for over 10 years, with experience from puppies, to mature senior dogs. My dog recently passed away, at the ripe old age of 12, so I am accustomed to accommodating elderly dog's needs. I love to run and hike, and having a dog come along is the best part of those activities! I am recent graduate with my MSW from Boise State and I am spending my summer in Central Oregon as I transition into a career job! I will be working part time (occasionally full time) at the Bend Parks and Rec summer camp department, and would love to take your dog on outdoor adventures with me! I have my own vehicle that is well suited to transporting dogs to parks and trail networks. I can’t take dogs at my house, but would be happy to provide drop in visits and longer outings throughout the week. I will be working at the Bend Parks and Rec summer camp program, usually about 20-35 hours per week, so I might have some flexibility in my schedule. Currently I cannot care for pets at my home during this summer. I have my own vehicle and can visit homes to care for dogs in the central Oregon area.
About: Animals make the world go round, let me be a helping hand for any of your pets needs! I’m reliable, outdoorsy, and love animals more than anything. I’ve been surrounded by all sorts of animals my entire life and would love to spend some time with your pet, they will be in the most caring hands :) We can go over it in more detail if you decide to book with me, but I do have a very flexible schedule and will always make the time :) I’m very easy going, whatever you need me to do for your pet I’m there. If that’s pets, walking, feeding, dog park, river. I’m there!
“Our kitty was very well taken care of while we were gone for 4 days. We could relax and not worry about her. I looked forward to Jordana’s daily reports plus pictures. We will be requesting her services again!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
