About: I’ve always loved being around animals and have experience caring for both dogs and cats. I’m responsible, attentive, and make sure pets feel comfortable and safe while their owners are away. I’m happy to help with feeding, walks, playtime, litter boxes, medication if needed, and keeping pets on their usual routines. I enjoy spending time outdoors and making sure dogs get the exercise and attention they need. I treat every pet like my own and always make sure owners get updates and photos during visits. I’m available on Fridays and weekends, and I have plenty of time during those days to give your pets attention, walks, and playtime. I’m reliable and consistent, and I’ll make sure to stick to your pet’s usual routine so they feel comfortable and cared for. I have a fenced yard and experience being around dogs, so I’m comfortable with different personalities and energy levels. I focus on keeping pets safe with supervised time, secure spaces, and following any instructions you leave. I want your pet to feel relaxed, safe, and at home while they’re with me.

About: I'm excited to meet new pets and their people! While I'm new to Rover, I'm not new to caring for animals. I have over 20 years of professional experience caring for pets and homes, along with a lifetime of loving animals of my own. Animals have been part of my life since childhood. I've cared for dogs of every size, age, and personality, as well as cats, birds, and other small animals. Most recently, I spent four years living in Hawaii with my own dog, cat, and bird, and have cared for pets throughout the Bay Area, including Marin, San Francisco, Oakland, Contra Costa, and Napa. I'm an outdoor enthusiast who loves mountain biking, hiking, camping, and exploring nature. If your dog enjoys adventure and you're comfortable with it, I'm happy to include longer walks or outdoor adventures tailored to their energy level. I enjoy keeping active dogs both physically and mentally engaged, while always respecting each pet's individual needs and routine. During COVID, while my massage therapy practice was on pause, I got a certification in canine massage, deepening my understanding of canine anatomy, mobility, and comfort. This experience has been especially valuable when caring for senior dogs, anxious pets, and those who benefit from right amount of exercise and a calm, gentle touch. Every pet is different, and I take pride in carefully following your instructions so they feel safe, loved, and at home while you're away. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind, knowing your beloved companion is receiving attentive, experienced care. I've always believed animals are some of life's greatest gifts. To me, they are like guardian angels on Earth. They teach us unconditional love, presence, and joy. It's a privilege to earn their trust and care for them as if they were my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily life. I currently work part-time with a flexible schedule, which allows me to plan my work around the pets I'm caring for whenever possible. I intentionally limit my commitments so I can provide each pet with the time, attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, quiet companionship, or simply keeping their normal routine, I'm happy to adapt my schedule to meet their needs. I understand that consistency helps pets feel safe and comfortable while you're away, and I strive to make their time with me feel as familiar and stress-free as possible. Clear communication is important to me, and I'll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is happy, loved, and well cared for. Every pet is unique, so I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and preferences before you leave. I carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, medications, exercise, favorite walking routes, sleeping arrangements, and any special needs to help your pet feel safe and comfortable. Whether your companion enjoys long walks and outdoor adventures, playtime, enrichment activities, or simply relaxing on the couch, I tailor my care to what makes them happiest. I believe consistency and patience help pets feel secure while their family is away.

About: I spend time with my friend's dogs just for fun. I have been taking care of animals most of my life. Animals inherently trust me, and I just completely adore them. I am active, love running with dogs, love playing with them, and love cuddling them. I worked on a farm as well for a year, and took care of 60 animals, so I am used to working hard for animals, and thoroughly enjoy it! I have not met a dog I didn't like, and I am good with all different breeds and sizes. I love the dog park, it is a slice of heaven for me, and I would spend every day there if I was able to. Hope to hear from you. Thanks!

About: Spending time with your pet is my pleasure, and I would care for them as if they were my own. As far back as I can remember I have been a go-to petsitter for friends, family, and coworkers and am known for being flexible, low maintenance, responsible, and having a blast with pups. I will follow any special instructions to the letter and will give your pet a full measure of attention and playtime. I can also send pictures daily if requested. I am easy to communicate with, and I'm easy to reach by phone, WhatsApp, or your preferred messaging service. I love the outdoors, so if your pup wants to enjoy trails and time at the beach or in the mountains, I'm your girl. I am also happy to have a cuddly kitty or lapdog sit with me in the sun as I work on my laptop. I run my own online business and work from home, so I can provide around-the-clock care for your pet. My schedule is highly flexible, so I can provide regular walks throughout the day and attend to any special needs as they come up. We'll discuss your pet's special needs and unique behaviors ahead of time and meet to acquaint ourselves. Knowing how your pet will react to dogs, cats, wildlife, people, children, noises or other unexpected stimuli is important to know ahead of time. I can care for any special dietary needs or medications, or any other unique needs your pet has. Send me a message and let's chat about your pet!

About: With three decades of hands-on experience, I’ve had the joy and responsibility of caring for a wide range of animals and homes. From energetic puppies to senior pets needing medication, multi-pet households to quiet countryside retreats, I’ve built a reputation for being dependable, detail-oriented, and deeply caring. Over the years, I’ve cared for: • Dogs of all breeds, ages, and energy levels • Cats with a wide range of personalities and needs • Rabbits, turtles, fish, and other small animals • Homes big and small—always kept clean, secure, and well-tended What sets me apart is my consistency and calm presence. I show up on time, follow routines as requested, and keep in regular communication while you’re away. Whether it’s administering medication, watering plants, bringing in the mail, or offering your pets lots of playtime and affection, I approach each sit with the same level of care and respect I would want for my own home and animals. Over the years, many of my clients have become repeat families and even friends—because they know they can trust me to show up with integrity, kindness, and competence every single time. I am a yoga facilitator and artist focused on intentional living. I love nature wanders and being present with all creatures I get to encounter. I follow each animal’s schedule—morning walks, feeding, medication, play, and check-ins—while keeping the home clean and calm. I stay observant and responsive, making sure pets feel safe, loved, and well cared for every step of the way. In your home or mine, I follow each pet’s routine with care—feeding, walks, meds, play, and rest. I create a calm, safe space and stay attentive to their needs, keeping them happy, healthy, and loved while you’re away.

About: Since my teen years I've been entrusted with the care of dogs, cats and the homes of many friends, family, acquaintances, and community members at large. I am detail oriented, patient, dependable and empathetic. I am a lover of dogs and cats alike and I truly I feel that I have connected deeply with every animal I have ever met. I have had some experience with puppies and kittens, as well as senior/ disabled animals. I grew up with animals but do not currently have any of my own. I work as a creative professional and often work at home, but I have developed a mobile workspace. I would be honored to assist you and your furry ones! I am a freelance musician and video producer. On occasion, I am in the field filming, or performing, however I spend most of my time at home on the computer coordinating and editing projects. I have been blessed with a flexible schedule which has enabled me to have the availability to assist others with their sweet pets. I am flexible and willing to exercise, administer meds, clean-up after, and provide company, play, and cuddles. I am sensitive to your needs and the needs of your loved one(s).

About: I have experience caring for multiple dogs at a time, including caring for three dogs in one household and two dogs in another. I was responsible for their daily care and making sure they were safe, fed, exercised, and comfortable. Managing several dogs at once taught me how to stay patient, attentive, and organized, even when they were energetic or had different personalities and needs. I genuinely enjoy being around dogs and would treat every pet in my care like they were my own. I only have a college class twice a week for only one hour of my day and I have a part-time job that is only certain days of the week. Rover will be the perfect fill-in for all that extra time that I have, and I will always put my customers first. I live in a very mellow neighborhood where there are also many dogs around me where people are walking their dogs and having them on leashes, I live in an apartment that is very dog friendly and I will spend all of my time taking the dog or taking it out on the grass, we do have a dog area at my apartment.

About: Have a rescue type animal with personality identification disorders, social anxiety, destructive aggression, etc... $200 for a 8 hour, 10 mile walk through GG park and ocean side playtime with tons of story line pictures for you to enjoy! --------------------------------- Due to my poor planning and Paul’s wonderful flexibility Dory and Paul were unable to meet prior to his stay. Her non welcoming behavior would have sent any sitter running. Within minutes I received photos of a happy, wagging girl. He certainly knows how to work with challenging dogs. --------------------------------- Paul was so patient with my new rescue dog who is very hesitant and hostile with new people. He was careful with a slow intro. Paul is so intuitive and understanding of dogs and it was amazing to see him work a little magic with my dog. --------------------------------- Paul was terrific with my anxious little pup that’s a huge bundle of energy. He spent more time than allotted to make sure he could run out his energy in the park and sent a ton of photos. ---------------------------------- It was so great having Paul watch our cats. They were showed so much love and attention. Some of the best care they’ve had on rover. Really fun photo updates so we never had to worry about them while away. Thanks, Paul! ---------------------------------- Paul was so good with my dog, I swear she was a teeny bit disappointed when I arrived home and walked through the door instead of him. Paul was very communicative and sent tons of pictures to keep me updated on his journey with my boston terrier, Brooklyn. Brooklyn is very high energy and he totally matched her level of bonkers. I can tell she had a great time. Thanks, Paul! Willing to travel anywhere in the country. Nikka and I love to travel, and would be willing to make our way to your place, regardless of city, or state. You will not find a better care taker in the city, as I am referred to as Tarzan. Things we love to do... Eat chicken, steak, fish and veggies off the grill, then long trail walks and heavy naps with friends off all sizes, breeds and age. This service is as much as $250 a day, and worth every single penny. Please refer to my client comments. You'll see after reviewing all other caretaker comments Tarzan stands alone, and provides what no other can.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Bivalve

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
