“Shontae provided a great environment for my dog with a dog door, backyard, and her puppy for my dog to socialize with. My dog seemed happy and cared for in the photos she sent and when I picked him up. Great experience!!”

“Karen and her family were amazing! She was super flexible and willing to work with our schedule. She was patient with one of my dogs as my dog was a little nervous at first. My dogs definitely had lots of fun! Karen has lots of toys, bones, and yard space for lots of playing. Thank you Karen!! We will definitely be using you again.”

“Jessica was great. Maggie and Claire could not have had better treatment. I’m surprised they came home with me. I was updated how they were doing and it was obvious they were getting the best of care and plenty of attention. A sleepy dog is always a good sign they had fun at daycare!”

“Amber was awesome, she took great care of Calvin and he had a blast with all the furfriends at her house. She was respectful of his boudaries and followed all care instructions. I'm definitely booking with her again!”

“Justine is awesome and super easy to work with. Muri was well cared for and she had a blast. I’m hoping to continue having Justine care for Muri while I’m at work each week.”

“Brooke and her husband took great care of my dog! I could tell he had great fun; he was exhausted when I picked him up, and very happy to go back to their house in the morning! I loved receiving pictures and videos capturing him playing with the other dogs in their great backyard. Also, very very much appreciated their flexibility and graciousness keeping him for longer hours during the days!”

“Mikelle was amazing! Our high-energy puppy came home every day happy and tired. She was our first Rover sitter and if we return to SLC in the future, we will definitely be booking her again!”

About: Dogs have been a big part of my life pretty much since I was born. No, really….my parents had a sheep dog named Cassie and as a toddler we were best buddies. Cassie would slide across our kitchen tiled floor and knock into me. I laughed hysterically as I tumbled to the floor and clapped my hands signaling her to do it again! Then, as a preteen, Santa Claus brought a Golden Retriever puppy named Kessler to our home and she claimed me as hers-cuddling up in my bed at night, catching my softballs in the backyard during my practices, and comforting me through all the tough parts that come with growing up. When it was time to start my own family, my husband and I adopted a corgi named Tuff and he became our first “child”. He kept me company during those first years of long nights with babies. After tuff died, Pearl, a one year old Portuguese Water Dog, recently joined our family. She is a best friend not only to me but also my 5 kids who adore her. We are an active family of 7 and Pearl joins us hiking, swimming, paddle boarding, on walks around our neighborhood, and playing catch in the fields and parks by our house. Dogs have been the most loyal, trustworthy, loving, joyful best friends of my life. I have happily taken care of neighbors and friends' dogs over the years. Now that all my kids are in full-day school, I am ready to welcome your furry best friend into our home while you are away. I just ask that your dog be potty trained, kid friendly as well as dog friendly, and hypoallergenic if I am boarding them in my home. I am also available with extremely flexible hours for house calls, potty breaks, and walks for all breeds. I can't wait to Meet you and your furry friend! Our house is located in a family and dog friendly community with numerous parks, dog parks, trails, and even a lake. While you are away, he or she will hardly know that you are gone because they will be so busy having fun and being loved! Dogs are allowed on our furniture and beds. Your dog will receive exercise equal to his wants and needs with plenty of cuddle time in between.
“Alaetria did such a wonderful job taking care of Ace. I was always updated and got so many cute pictures and videos. She’s seriously amazing and wonderful. If you need someone to take care of your fur baby I highly recommend her💕💕”

“Jen is great, very friendly and accommodating. I wanted to find new friends for my dog. She welcomed my fur baby into her home and family. My dog had so much fun. Jen would share pictures and video throughout the stay. My dog seemed to have had so much fun!”

“Sara is SO responsive and literally spent all day playing with/ entertaining my energizer bunny of a GSP. You can tell she loves animals which is who I’d want caring for my dog every time!”

“We've always used big doggie daycare places for our pup, but that's not the environment we want for him if we go out of town. He loves people and we want him to feel loved. Jessie is great with dogs and Apollo loved having other dogs to play with during his stay.”
“Sharon was so good with Max! I so appreciated her communication and updates with how he was doing! It helped put me as ease as a new dog mom! Will definitely use her again! Thank you Sharon!!”

“Rachel is absolutely amazing, my puppy loves going to her house. She always sends updates and pictures of my lil guy and is the sweetest little lady I love working with her. She's my 1st pick always 😁”

“Gia ALWAYS has a great time with Karen. Lots of play time and 2 walks every day. And she is very flexible with my dropoff and pickup schedule. Definitely my SLC go-to for doggie daycare!”

“Sachi did a great job taking care of my pup! I needed recurring dog sitting last minute, and she accommodated our needs. My pup always got so excited to go to her house and play with his doggy friends.”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Bingham Canyon commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in UT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
