“Megan did an extraordinarily beautiful job kitty sitting with Rosie. She was there for Rosie in all the most important ways, giving her truely undivided attention. She gave Rosie whole assurance that she was completely there for her, taking care and overseeing all her needs as well as being truly a faithful companion and a dear playful friend which she needed. Megan has a special intelligence and truely a deep for working with animals. She brought constancy in the way she followed through with everything she did for Rosie. I would most highly recommend her as a kitty sitter Megan brought an invaluable intelligence to the job. She brought invaluable skills to the job with a deep understanding for Rosie’s needs.”

“Elijah was so great with our dogs and respectful of our home. He sent daily photos so we could stay connected. I will always ask him first when we need help again.”

“This was the first time we've asked someone to stay in our home while we were away, and Susan was absolutely the perfect choice. She was great with our dog, took excellent care of the house, and even received raving reviews from our next door neighbors. We really look forward to working with Susan in the future!”

“I was nervous about someone we just met staying in my home with my dogs while we were away. Also, I have three pitties who come with a LOT of energy. Chris did an excellent job of making us feel comfortable at the two meet and greets, as well as this past weekend while we were in Tennessee. She was communicative and very helpful. She left the house cleaner than when she arrived. It’s safe to say that, given how it has gone so far, we are much more confident going to France for almost two weeks in a few days here. We’re confident Chris will take care of our home and pups. Got ourselves a dog sitter.”

“I know Levon works mostly with dogs and I was very happy he was available on short notice (I had another rover sitter cancel within a week of my trip) to watch my sweet Anna. She can be shy and she was comfortable with Levon and he was able to give her the medication she needs. He was responsive and kept me updated. I would book with him again!”

“Hannah was very communicative and seemed to have a deep care for all of my animals. I received regular updates, as well as updates when anything unusual occurred (which only happened once, thankfully!). I felt secure knowing my animals were being looked after by Hannah.”

“Michael is absolutely fantastic. This was the second time he stayed with my pups. It was a unique situation involving a hospital stay and unknown discharge date. He was flexible and worked with me to ensure my pups were well taken care and never left alone.”

“Amy is always up for anything you need done and quick to stay in touch! She's once again saved our weekend, and extra props for doing so during Helene and having to work our generator. Thank you so much Amy, would be a missed opportunity to not book you ❤️”

“Juliann went above and beyond as our house and pet sitter. She was always available for communication, offered to do more than was asked. Very caring for our pet. Highly recommended!”

“Anne was amazing! She took my dog on hikes, walks, adventures and kept me in the loop over the weekend. She treated him so well! House was clean, I felt completely relaxed the entire wknd, she truly went above and beyond for my little guy. I could tell my dog was happy with her!”

“I would happily recommend Kate to anyone looking for a house sitter for their fur babies!! She takes amazing care of our two older cats and high energy dog! We get several updates every day which I really appreciate. Not only that but she takes great care of our home - she's very respectful and thoughtful. Highly recommend!!!”

About: Live and work in downtown Asheville and usually available on short notice with an open schedule. I've lived and cared for dogs for over 15 years. Current doggo: a 3-year-old pitty mix that we are training up to be the very best dog (better than she already is!). In a way, I'm training myself as I train her to reduce reactions and improve leash skills. Previous expeirence with mid-sized (20-30ish lbs) spaniels and a Shiba Inu. I am attentive to the needs of your pets, whatever they may be. I'm a pretty big guy who can be as much of a 'rassler as your dog needs, even if that means being a couch potato for a few hours at a time. I'm not much of a runner, but getting a mile or three of walking in is no problem if that's what your furbaby requires. Overnights, drop-ins, longer-stays. I am a writer by trade, so my work can follow me just about anywhere. No problem with administering medications. And yes, I can definitely send you a picture of your dog because you miss them. I have an extremely flexible schedule. If I'm in town I can drop in or walk on short notice and am usually available for overnights with 24-48 hour notice. I have a dog-friendly home with a small-ish, fenced in yard and a docile (lazy?) dog who will likely love getting to know your pup. I have a reliable truck equippped with a back-seat hammock in case your pup needs a ride anywhere. I am a clean human, responsible, who is very careful to be an exceptional guest in other people's homes (because that's what I expect out of people who stay in my home!).

“Chelsea did an excellent job staying for the weekend at my home with my two dogs! The house was left clean and the dogs were happy! I would definitely recommend her!”

About: For eight years, I volunteered with the Wake County Animal Center in Raleigh, NC, where I fostered 60 dogs—from newborn puppies to senior dogs and every age and personality in between. While I’m not a certified dog trainer, I’ve worked with pups who had anxiety, reactivity, resource guarding, medical needs, and even deafness (I taught one dog 15 different signs!). I’ve handled recovery care after surgery, heartworm treatment, skin and eye issues, potty training, and medication routines that required attention multiple times a day. I feel confident and comfortable with any dog—big or small, shy or hyper, special needs or seniors. I haven’t had to give injectable medication before, but I’m completely comfortable learning and have no hesitation. I work part-time as an assistant for a local Asheville artist. I’m often able to adjust my hours around your pet’s needs, especially for midday walks, extended stays, or regular check-ins. Pet care isn’t just something I fit into my day—it’s a huge part of what makes me feel grounded, happy, and fulfilled. I haven’t fostered since moving to Asheville, and working with dogs again is a way I’m reconnecting with that part of myself. I share custody of three senior dogs—now 14, 13, and 12—and they’ve been with me most of their lives. My 13-year-old tripod, a boxer-hound mix, lives with me full-time and is my best friend. Because of him, I’m especially tuned into the needs of older or special-needs pets. At home, I live in an apartment with three private dog parks on the property. They’re usually empty, which gives us a safe place to play, run, or just sniff around. For boarding, your dog will need to meet mine first to ensure everyone vibes well together. In your home, I always do a meet & greet beforehand to get to know your pet and their environment, plus give you a chance to get to know me. Through my years of volunteering at a busy municipal shelter, I’ve developed a strong ability to read dog body language—whether that means giving space to a nervous dog, redirecting rough play, or stepping in safely if a situation escalates. I also know how to interrupt and break up dog fights safely, though I do everything possible to prevent them from happening in the first place! Your pet’s comfort and safety, and mine, are my top priorities- wherever we are.

“Maria did an excellent job house sitting my dog while I was away for a long weekend. She consistently checked in with photos and was easy to reach. My pup seemed very content when I got home and my house was kept clean and orderly. I’d be happy to have Maria sit for me again in the future!”

“Our dogs took to Melissa immediately during the meet & greet. She was very caring with our dogs and even let me know she accidentally left out a supplement they both take in their food. She let me know that our older dog did not seem to feel well. I appreciated the communication and concern. We will use her again.”

“Susanna was wonderful! Returned home to a happy pup! She is a true animal lover, I felt confident leaving her with my fur baby. Would definitely recommend!”

“Alli was amazing! She went out of her way to meet us and our anxious pup before we left. She made sure our animals were safe, loved, and cared for while we were away.”

“Elizabeth watched my Zoey over Christmas and did such a great job communicating and sending pictures every day. We did a meet and greet before our trip and was so happy that her sweet dog indie was a perfect play partner for Zoey and felt super comfortable having them play in the yard. She took Zoey for walks and play dates with her dog and Zoey was a happy pup! I recommend Elizabeth!”
