I've cared for cats of various ages, energy levels, and social patterns, and have experience with multiples together too (up to three at one time)! I've cared for both indoor and outdoor cats, and I'm familiar with feeding, administering medication, and litter box changing. I have amateur dog training experience and by request, I can support your dog's training needs while I am looking out for them. No charge! Jackson is certified in American Service Pet training as well, so you can rest assured they are in good, capable hands during their stay. We both work outside of the home - Jackson as a maintenance worker and Nichole as a doctor - so our fur babies are usually lounging inside or in our fenced in yard. That said, we always make sure one of us will be home when we have any pets staying with us. On the weekends, we love spending time out in nature, especially around bodies of water and would love to safely bring your pet along. When you trust us to watch your animals, we’ll follow whatever rules you’d like. They can run around in our fenced in yard or stay inside. We have a large crate as well if your animal prefers that. We have a Bernedoodle that loves playing with new friends, as long as they are not aggressive. We have two indoor cats that love playing with our dog, but would also not do well with an aggressive dog. There were 2 days of our 16-day vacay that we needed a reliable pet sitter for adventures we couldn’t bring Ezra on: zip-lining in Barnardsville and driving the Blue Ridge Parkway in a 2-seater Polaris Slingshot. Even after a considerately planned meet-and-greet the afternoon before his 1st stay with Paul, Ezra was a little nervous after we dropped him off. Thoughtfully, I received updates and videos to keep me posted. Paul and his fiancé worked with him to build trust and also Ezra’s confidence. By day 2, Ezra did not want his stay to end at pick-up time! When he finally did get in the car, he was happily exhausted and slept the entire drive home. I’m big on maintaining consistency between your home and ours. If your dog is crate trained or currently learning we’re happy to continue their normal routine. Dogs can be fed separately to ensure everyone eats their own food, and we have an extra crate available or are happy to use your dog’s own crate if that makes them more comfortable. I love providing enrichment beyond simply letting dogs hang out! Depending on your pup, that might include sniff walks, Kongs, lick mats, snuffle mats, sprinkler or kiddie-pool play in the yard, fetch, or supervised creek adventures. With your permission, well-suited pups can also join us for dog-friendly walking trails or an occasional brewery outing.
