“We are first time users of Rover, but long time owners of cats! We have never tried Rover and in the past, have utilized family members to come care for my cats when we go on vacation, but our experience with Douglas has truly changed our vacations from now on. We were immediately comfortable upon meeting Douglas for the meet and greet. We had peace of mind on our vacation knowing our cats were in such good hands. Douglas truly took such good care of them, even winning the affection of one of that cats (and as some of you may know, as cat owners, that can be a challenge)! We loved all the photos and all the updates! Douglas replied quickly and is very responsible and reliable!!!”

“Valerie did a great job with my 2 cats! She made sure they had food and water, cleaned the litter box, and spent time brushing and petting them. I will definitely be booking with her again.”

About: My previous experience was primarily in vet medicine by being a vet technician. I've cared for puppies and kittens all the way to their golden senior years. I've been by their side through happy events to some anxious times, and provided calm through it all. I can provide a safe and calming environment for pets. I also have personal experience with having a dog and cat of my own. Most of my availability is Friday-Monday. I can pet sit overnight, or make a check-in during the day. Please let me know at least two days in advance with information on your loved fur-baby, so I can be prepared and make accommodations for them. I will care for your pets as I do mine. Sometimes they come up for pets and cuddles, other times they require space. I will acknowledge their needs and try to understand their body language to bridge the language barrier. Also, if they need play time, require more attention, or have anxiety, I can accomodate.

About: I have never owned a dog before, but I do know how they are and when they are approachable. Looking for this app to help me reach the patience and skills I need before I own an animal. I actually am still looking for employment, so I usually just spend my days looking for employment, so I am available to attend the needs of the dog and or client I love animals, and I understand that they cant help it. I am very passionate about dogs, I love how they come in all shapes and sizes so, I like to build the trust of dogs I see on the street. If your dog is cute, I will ask to pet it.

About: With a lifetime of experience caring for cats of all temperaments and the daily companionship of my own playful 2-year-old orange cat, I have developed a deep understanding of feline behavior, needs, and care. From providing medication and enrichment to ensuring comfort and security, I am dedicated to treating every cat as if they were my own. My patience, attentiveness, and love for animals make me an excellent choice for a dependable and compassionate pet sitter. As a part-time project management consultant, I have the flexibility to dedicate ample time to pet care during weekdays. I structure my schedule to ensure your cats receive consistent attention and care, whether it’s for feeding, playtime, or companionship. My experience with time management allows me to balance responsibilities effectively, so your furry friends are always my top priority when they’re in my care. When caring for pets in my client’s home, I prioritize creating a comfortable and familiar environment for them. I follow their established routines for feeding, playtime, and litter box maintenance, ensuring minimal disruption to their daily lives. I take time to bond with each cat, respecting their unique temperament, and provide plenty of affection or space as needed. Safety is always my top priority, and I keep the home secure while maintaining a clean and tidy space. If I were to care for pets in my own home, I would ensure they have a safe, clean, and enriching space with access to toys, cozy napping spots, and plenty of attention. I always maintain open communication with pet owners, providing updates and photos to keep them connected to their furry companions.

About: I’ve owned 2 dogs for the better part of 10 years. In that time I’ve trained one as a service dog, walked, fed, bathed and cuddled them 1000 times. I’ve also babysat a blind and def 16 year old dog including feeding and walking her. I’ve also lived with cats, rats, guinea pigs and rabbits all while having dogs and know how to balance small animals with all types of dogs. Pet care is a regular part of my daily life. I start each morning by walking my dog and feeding my two guinea pigs. Then it’s off to work, but I always make time during breaks or after work for another walk and to let the piggies free roam and explore safely. I spend a lot of my downtime hanging out with my pets—cuddling, relaxing, and just enjoying their company. Taking care of animals isn’t just something I do—it’s something that naturally fits into my routine. I’m used to being attentive, consistent, and making space in my day for the little things that help pets feel safe and happy. I follow any routines and instructions closely—whether it’s feeding schedules, medications, walk times, or favorite toys. I give pets space to settle in, especially if they’re shy or new to me, and then offer attention, play, and calm companionship once they’re ready. I’m always keeping an eye on behavior and body language to make sure they’re doing okay. For in-home visits, I respect the client’s space, clean up after myself (and the pets), and make sure everything’s locked up and secure before I leave. In my own home, pets are supervised and have access to safe spaces, and I keep my dog and guinea pigs separated from guest pets unless everyone is comfortable and it’s okay with the owner. My goal is to make each pet feel like they’re right where they belong.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and truly consider myself a dog person. I have experience caring for all kinds of pups with different needs. In my free time, I volunteer at the San Bernardino Animal Shelter, so I’m pretty good at reading dog body language and making sure everyone stays safe. My home has a fenced backyard with grass for playtime and potty breaks. At night, your pup is welcome to sleep wherever they’re most comfortable, whether that’s a dog bed, the couch, or even my bed! My goal is to make sure your dog feels safe, happy, and right at home. I am currently a full-time college student living about 10 minutes from campus. I have a hybrid schedule, so I have plenty of time to stay at home with your pup. My schedule is flexible and open to adjusting to you and your pups needs! I like to care for dogs based on their usual daily routine because it helps them feel happy, comfortable, and right at home! If your pup loves to stay active, I’m happy to take them for a run, a long walk, or let them play freely in my fenced grassy backyard. If they prefer to relax, they’re welcome to nap inside or soak up the sun outside. My main goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and totally at ease during their stay. Even though I’m a full-time student, I have plenty of time before and after class to give your fur baby the love and attention they need, and I’m never away for long!

America C.
“I am pleased to recommend America for a dog walking and pet care position through Rover. As a graduate of a Veterinary Assistant program, America brings a strong background in animal care, along with the professionalism, compassion, and reliability that pet owners value and trust. America has consistently demonstrated her natural connection with animals, as well as her ability to handle a wide range of situations with calmness and care. Her veterinary training gives her a solid understanding of animal behavior, basic medical needs, and emergency preparedness—skills that set her apart from typical pet care providers. Whether walking dogs, feeding, administering medications, or simply providing companionship, America approaches each responsibility with dedication and heart. Her attention to detail, clear communication, and warm demeanor make her an ideal candidate for pet owners looking for someone they can rely on. She is respectful of clients’ homes, attentive to specific pet needs, and always goes the extra mile to ensure both the pets and their owners feel secure and happy. America would be an exceptional addition to the Rover community, and I have no doubt she will build lasting relationships with the pets and families she serves. Please feel free to reach out with any questions regarding her qualifications or experience.”

Stacy R.
“To whom it may concern. Stacy Rios use to be my pet sitter part time when we were roommates. Working two jobs it’s difficult taking care of my dog but thanks to Stacy my dog remained engaged with other animals as she would take her out to dog parks and make sure she was socialized. As someone who has her own pet Stacy takes great care of other peoples animals and is always willing to go the extra mile for the fur babies. She doesn’t see them as some else pet but treats them as her own.”

Belvedere Heights cat parents share their Rover experiences
Quetzaly was fantastic! She visited our cats daily, followed all requests, and sent us the cutest photos and updates every day. She’s dependable, reasonably priced, with great communication. I would definitely use her services again and highly recommend her. Thank you Quetzaly!!!

Douglas is extraordinary. Truly, I have never felt more comfortable having a sitter in my home taking care of my kitties. He displayed high professionalism, kindness, and dedication to this job and animals. During the meet and greet he was very personable, asked questions, and we could tell he was incredibly knowledgeable about cats. I requested extra photos, and he went above and beyond, even sending me videos and giving me updates during the sit and not just via the Rover Card! I left very detailed notes, and he did every single thing I asked for, even opening and closing my curtains for my plants! My kitties LOVED him. I've never seen them warm up to a new person SO quickly, especially my male cat, who is usually broody and will hide. Not only did he not hide, but he took treats from Douglas!! I am very impressed by Douglas and his work ethic, not only meeting the needs of my kitties and caring for them with compassion but also exceeding my expectations (which is admittedly VERY hard to do lol.) He was extremely communicative and took extra measures to make sure my kitties AND myself were comfortable. I cannot emphasize how relieved and worry-free I was during my camping trip, where I didn't have service most of the time. I was not stressed at all, knowing they were in good hands, which has never happened with a sitter before. Even sitters I trusted, I still worried. We have had several sitters over the years and none of them even come close to Douglas. If you're not booking with him, you're crazy. He is a MUST HAVE and I will never book with anyone else again (desperately praying that he will always be available lmao.) I'm so incredibly grateful to him!!!!
