“George did such a good job watching Milo! He was attentive to him being comfortable and communicated with me multiple times a day! I could tell Milo was taken care of very well! Would use him again!!”

“Jazmine (and her boyfriend Norman) took wonderful care of our 12-year-old black Lab, Judy, who is a cancer survivor and a bit particular—sweet, but needy and not a fan of other dogs. Jazmine cared for her in her home, made sure she had her morning medicine, and sent us daily updates with snuggle photos that made us feel completely at ease. Judy was clearly loved and beautifully looked after. Warm, professional, and trustworthy—highly recommend.”

“Roberta made my pup feel right at home! My dog will often not eat in new environments until she gets settled, but she was eating right away which is a testament to how accommodating and welcoming Roberta was. She also updated me with pictures every day!”

“Gwen and family took such good care of Spencer. I love how happy he seemed when I picked him up. It’s clearly a safe and fun place for him to be. Thank you so much!”

“Carole was especially helpful to our last minute needs. We had flight delays and was unable to pick up at our scheduled time. She was communicative and flexible. Sadie looks like she had plenty of space to run and play with several other dogs.”

“I highly recommend Doug rover is lucky to have him on their site he. Is highly communicative quick to respond kind and very knowledgeable about dogs My Judah loves his maverick and I feel blessed to have met this dog loving family”

“Joanne was amazing with our doggo. He tried to go on a hunger strike but she completely got him to eat…he had lots of walks and love!! Would absolutely have him stay with her again!!”

“Loved loved loveddd Maria and her family! From the beginning she was very open and communication was great! She kept me updated and loved on my dog like she was part of the family. My dog is definitely sad to leave but I will be rebooking with Maria the next time I need help! Thank you and your family for loving my girl she had a blast!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️”

“Brittni's home was the absolute perfect place our dog Rolo could have gone for the week! I was so worried because she is an older dog who is set in her ways, but Brittni and family took her in as a part of their family and we are so grateful! I genuinely think it was a vacation for Rolo as well with all of the walks around their beautiful property paired with being spoiled in their home as well! Brittni's kindness and gentle nature was immediately obvious with our dog, who seemed to warm up to her right away. Communication was excellent and everything went smoothly. We highly recommended Brittni to take care of any animal!”

“Our girl Luna was in very good hands here, she felt right at home and was taken very good care of. Thank you so much Michael! We appreciate all you did for our girl while we went on vacation. We would definitely book with you again in the future!!”

“Keri Ann H. and family were great with my Charle during his recent stay. I'm new to the area and was a bit hesitant to leave him. But, needed to go out of town and couldn't take him with me on this trip. However, I got frequent updates and pictures of him having a great time. Keri Ann definitely earned my business and will book with her again. Charle was well cared for during his stay.”

“Renata took excellent care of Meg, I knew from her profile that our Meg would be happy and loved and she really didn't disappoint. I can honestly say she is now family and I won't leave Meg with anyone else. THANKS RENATA and Thanks Rover for helping us find her”

“Thank you both so much for the peace of mind and the communication & check-ins. The peace of mind that I had while Kaya was with you during the last few days was so very much appreciated!! She'll see you next week. 😊”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
