Becky did a wonderful job with our dogs. She was available last minute to help out when another sitter fell through, paid great attention to detail, and I fully trusted her while we were away. She made sure to check in multiple times a day and sent pictures and videos of our pups. Would be happy to book again in the future.

Kari was AWESOME!!! She got along with Gunny like they had been family for years. Her communication was excellent, and she took several pictures of Gunny enjoying himself and texted them to me. My wife ran saw her yesterday and Kari told her how much she enjoyed spending time with Gunny and that she felt like she should have "visitation" time with him. She is welcome to visit whenever she would like. I have no hesitation recommending her to watch your pooch.

We've booked Taylor with a couple times now, and it's always been a fantastic experience! Taylor sends lots of pictures and updates, and follows the provided feeding instructions to a "T". This last booking was for a couple days, and our apartment and pupper Charlotte were in excellent hands. Our pup Charlotte loves Taylor soooo much now that she sings an excite-song upon Taylor's arrival which is usually reserved for family and friends. Highly recommended and would not hesitate to book Taylor again! -Marc

Molli was a great cat and house sitter. My Mom has 2 cats that are always used to someone being at home throughout the day and especially overnight. My Mom had an unexpected family emergency that needed her away for 2 weeks and after meeting with Molli she already felt at ease. Molli sent us daily pictures and videos, she played with the cats, and took great care of the house. We would highly recommend Molli and will definitely be using her in the future for pet sitting. Thank you Molli!

About: Always had pets growing up, primarily mid to large sized dogs and random critters. While I can't currently own any of my own, I would love to hang out with and give some attention to yours! Right now my schedule is 8 days on, 6 days off. So essentially, all day every day every other week I can be available for walking and sitting, or just home visits mid day to let pets ourlt for potty breaks etc. I do not currently have the ability to bring any pets to my home, but depending on the set up at the home of the client, monitored backyard runs or leashed walks would probably be the starting point of interacting with new pets.

Elizabeth is amazing! I always feel so confident that our dogs and cat are well cared for and loved just like they would be if we were home! A multi-pet household with our crazy babies can be hard to manage but she does it flawlessly! She’s watched our pets for twice now and we will always reach out to her first when we need care!

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a little girl and had the pleasure of assisting many families with their pet sitting needs prior to Rover. My care includes but is not limited to: walks, scritches, feeding, bathing, playtime, treats and tricks, and tucking in the sleepy pups for bed. I also can assist with administration of medicine per request and with instruction, as well as open line of communication. I have had to give my own pets medication and I am not afraid to assist in that field. I haven't worked too much with seniors but with instructions I am eager to learn! Puppies are a blast, and any training that needs working on I can absolutely assist with. As of right now I am completely open with my schedule other than Tuesdays. I can fit my schedule to your pets sitting needs without any issues. My schedule consists of errands and my own physical health and making sure my own fur babies get the care and love they need. I can work around my schedule to meet clients needs, and will communicate if I am unable to pet sit due to vacations or trips back home to my family. My care includes but is not limited to: walks, scritches, feeding, bathing, playtime, treats and tricks, and tucking in the sleepy pups for bed. I also can assist with administration of medicine per request and with instruction, as well as open line of communication with pet parents via txt and phone call. Videos, pics, and or FaceTime can also be requested per pet visit. I can't wait to meet your fur baby and become best buds!

About: I am a senior lady who loves to take care of animals! All are unique in personality and I love figuring them out! I have had many dogs live good long lives, and I am well versed in Senior Care. My experience includes birds, guinea pigs, cats, hamsters, dogs, and open to more! I will keep your home secure and your pets safe, while you are gone and your pets and I will have fun along the way! I am retired, so my daily routine will revol around you home and pet needs. I am up for exercise for myself and your dog, walking is my first choice! Cats are a bit harder and it generally is play, also I am not opposed to leashing and taking your cat outside if that is part of their routine. I need to sit at your home, and I will care for it like it was my own. I notice and decifer the animals que's very quickly, so after a morning potty, usually it's time to eat. Then we would get in some exercise. After that a nap is usually in order.

About: Hi, I’m Lacy! I’ve been caring for animals since I was 9 through 4-H, where I learned how to care for animals like family. I’m now a dog mom myself, and when I’m not helping people around Yuma as a Realtor, I’d love to help care for your pup too. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone new, so I’ll make sure they feel safe like they’re my own. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because my schedule is pretty open for the most part. I’m happy to work with each pet’s routine and make sure they get the care, attention, and love they’re used to. I’m very open to caring for pets in their own home, where they may already feel most comfortable. I’m happy to follow their normal routine with feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and any special instructions you provide.

Arayvia took great care of my two pups for the week and gave me updates throughout her stay. On my way home I missed my connection, so I wouldn’t be getting home until the next day and Arayvia was super helpful and more than willing to stay another night with my pups! Thanks so much for caring for my babies like they were yours!

FAQs for House Sitting - Bard

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 68 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bard. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bard walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bard maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bard choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bard. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
