“I can't even tell you how wonderful Tolley and Tom are. Not only did they take care of our crazy pup who had a great time there, they went above and beyond. I will be using them again and highly recommend to anyone who needs these types of services. Thank you Tolley and Tom for the great experience.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities for over 20 years. As a neonatal nurse practitioner, providing attentive, compassionate care is part of who I am, and I bring that same level of responsibility and love to every pet I watch. I’m the proud owner of Kona, my friendly 9-year-old Lab/Shar-Pei mix, and I have two young children who have grown up around dogs and are gentle and respectful with animals. Because of my flexible schedule, I’m available most days of the week and can provide plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks, and companionship. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing fetch, or simply relaxing with people, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. “Thomas is amazing! Your pup will be in great hands with him! His love for dogs is very apparent and he was attentive to all of my dogs many needs lol. Thomas was also great at communication and Abner could not have asked for a better stay! Highly recommended!”

About: My husband, Keith and I love dogs and have had them all of our lives. Our beloved rescue dog passed in April. We miss having a dog to love on and play with. Your dog(s)will be treated like they are part of our family. My husband and I make a great team as he likes to take the dogs for daily walks no matter the weather and I like to play fetch, or work on commands. I work from home full-time while my husband works from home 3 days a week so we are here on site daily. We are active people and love to go on walks ourselves so we will take the dog with us. There are no kids or other pets in our home. We have an invisible fence so we will ensure all dogs are taken out on a leash when they need to go outside.

About: My husband and I own a very sweet, playful Great Dane/mastiff and a pure bred English Mastiff. We have experience with all kinds of dogs and other animals. We have a large finished upstairs where our dog loves to run and play. We have a large backyard that is fully fenced/gated. We walk daily (in nice weather). We have fun toys to play with and a whole room for your dog to sleep in (instead of a cage) but if your dog prefers a cage we have a huge one he can sleep in (or you can bring your own). I stay home so your pet will have plenty of company! We have three young girls who absolutely love playing with dogs. They are gentle and dogs always love them.

“Kayla took excellent care of Eddie. She introduced him to the pack and even got him accustomed to a cat, which doesn’t happen very often to him. We would rebook her without question again!”

“Wubbie seemed like she was right at home! Sarah kept me updated with lots of pictures and daily walk updates! I would love to have Wubbie stay with them again in the future when needed! Thanks so much for taking such good care of Wubbie!”

“Sharon was great with Ellie for day care. Communication was prompt and she was available last minute when another sitter fell through. I will definitely be coming back!”

“We really appreciate the Rover service we got. Our PAWsome sitter, Abby A. took the time to meet with us before taking care of our precious baby goldendoodle -Winnie. We also love that she is absolutely great with pets and took the time to understand the rest of our needs and requests for our fur-baby. Thank You! Will definitely request again!”

“I cannot express enough how amazing Samantha is!! I needed a last minute sitter for my goldens and she responded within minutes that she was willing and available. She sent the cutest pics of the dogs throughout the day and it was clear the dogs were having the best time! You could see how happy and cared for they were with Samantha! I will book with Samantha anytime I can in the future if the pups need a sitter! She is AMAZING!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Hong did a fabulous job taking care of Rover. He seemed like he did not want to leave her house when I picked him up. She took a ton of pictures so that I was able to see how much fun he was having during his stay. I will definitely be letting Rover stay with Hong again soon.”

“Super easy to get along with. My dog loved being able to go outside and run around and play with their dogs. They sent a lot of pictures and I know my dog had a great time!! Will love to use them again!”
“Megan communicates well on Rover. She had toys and an environment that our dog enjoyed and felt safe in. She took our dog outside and was conscious of our dogs comfort and actions while outside with her.”

About: I grew up with dogs my entire life and started watching dogs for family and friends while in college and couldn't have my own. I've enjoyed watching pets for my loved ones and now that I am in a house and working remotely I want to be able to provide my pet care experience to more fur babies. While the majority of my experience is with dogs I've also taken care of cats, fish, anoles, bearded dragons, rabbits, chinchillas, and hedgehogs. I'm open to caring for all sorts of animals and I'm able to be flexible with your needs. I work outside the house part time so when pets are with me they are my first priority and I only accept pets when I know I have enough time to give them all the attention they need. I have caged animals that I let out when I can supervise them so they house is animal proofed and anything potentially harmful is locked away. I have baby gates that can be put up to keep puppies/ elderly dogs from falling down the stairs. My back yard is enclosed on 3 sides by fencing and would be watched and leashed at all times when outside.
“As a rescue dog with limited time outside her new safe and friendly home, I was unsure how she would do in a first time little known environment. She not surprisingly took a little time to adjust but appeared to have a very fun day and came home well behaved, after an exciting new experience. The flow of pictures and videos really helped keep my mind at rest and I look forward to having Mocha enjoy many future vacation days at your house among other well behaved and friendly active dogs like herself. Thanks for the great day and keeping our mind at rest.”

“Mariia was amazing! She accommodated me last minute and was super understanding and easy to communicate with. I was just thankful to have someone to even watch my pup but she gave her amazing above and beyond care- taking her on a 45mn walk and sending me updates so i wouldn't worry. Mariia is very caring and professional and I would absolutely recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for someone to take care of their pet. Thanks Mariia!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Avon commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
