“Chona was a fantastic sitter for our Frenchie, Coco. She communicated often with texts and photos, took Coco on walks and outings, and made sure she was comfortable and calm the whole stay. We came home to a happy, relaxed dog and would definitely book with Chona again.”

“Mrs. Rochelle is simply amazing and has a beautiful family that helps her. She is very patient and kind. Our Taz can be a bit rambunctious but she said he did well. She sent photos while we were away on our trip. My grandpups were well taken care of. We will definitely use Mrs. Rochelle again. Thank you so much for caring for our fur babies.”

“I've only boarded my dog once in her life, when she was less than a year old. She hasn't been around other dogs very much and is skittish with them. I was worried about how she would react. Lisa sent me multiple pictures per day for the week I was gone and it really helped me to not worry about my dog. My girl looked happy with the other dogs! I am very pleased with Lisa and will certainly book again.”

“Weilin was awesome and phenomenal with Leo. This was our first time leaving Leo for a long time for boarding for almost a month and we were super nervous in leaving our fur baby alone. However, Weilin was amazing with him. Right from start she recommended a meet and greet, and drove close to our place to meet Leo and also brought one of her dog and made us super comfortable. She was always available whenever I had question, even though it was late for her. She sent me daily videos and pictures of Leo, and also picked and dropped him off to our place. Weilin also spotted a potential ear infection in Leo, quickly messaged me and took him to vet. She was also kind enough to treat him by applying medicine in his ears. Weilin's dogs were also super amazing. They played with Leo and made him feel even more comfortable while away. Leo will sleep on her dog QQ's bed and both Weilin and QQ made sure that Leo feels loved and happy at their place. Leo was super sad after she dropped Leo back when we returned, as he missed Weilin and her dogs. When she dropped off Leo, Leo wanted to go back with her. I couldn't have been more happier and will be using Weilin as my long term sitter, as I can relax and enjoy my vacation, with peace of my mind knowing Leo has been cared well for. Thank you Weilin and QQ, wuv wuv for all your love and affection towards Leo, and making him part of your home. We are super greatful to you in taking care of our fur baby, like yours.”

“"Maria A. did an amazing job watching Max! He had a blast at the lake, went on adventures, and even made a new friend Bruno - same size, so perfect playmate! Loved that he got lots of love and playtime with bigger buddiesu. Thanks, Maria!" 😊”

“Annmarie K. did an excellent job caring for my dog, Cassie, for 6 nights and 7 days. Cassie was relaxed and happy with her stay. Annmarie sent me lots of messages and pictures so I could feel comfortable with leaving her. Cassie is a rescue and requires some special handling, Annmarie was great with all Cassie's needs. Their two small dogs and cat are extremely friendly and helped put Cassie at ease with staying with her. Cassie had lots of fun and that was what I wanted for her while I was gone.”

About: I love animals and I love being of service to dog owners who want peace of mind when leaving their pup for the day week or month! I am a full time dog trainer, the only thing I am currently doing is training and caring for dogs full time all day every day. I have a fenced backyard, and I will be watching your pup every moment of the day to ensure their safety. As safety is my number one priority.
About: Hi, my name is Angela! I have extensive experience with high-energy dogs that thrive on special activities and routines. As the proud owner of an Australian Shepherd named Mila, I understand the needs of smart, active dogs who require both physical and mental stimulation to stay happy and well-behaved. I absolutely adore my Aussie, and I will love and care for your pet just as much! 🐾 I also volunteer, which gives me a very flexible schedule to meet the needs of you and your furry family member. Your pet will be treated like my own, with plenty of love, attention, and care. I live in a spacious three-bedroom home, offering plenty of room for your pet to roam, explore, and even enjoy some playtime with Mila. I look forward to meeting your fur baby and providing them with the best care possible. 💜 Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. As a dog owner myself, I’m already accustomed to planning my days around activities like walks, playtime, feeding, and training sessions. I schedule my work flexibly, so I can dedicate the time and attention needed for each pet I care for. Whether it’s daily visits, extended stays, or specific routines, I seamlessly integrate pet care into my week to ensure every furry friend feels loved and well-cared for. My girl Mila is very well cared for (some might say spoiled!), and I make sure she’s fed on a consistent schedule every single day. She has plenty of toys to keep her entertained, and you can expect the same level of care and attention for your furry friend.
“Five stars all day, every day! Shayne has been watching Yosie overnight twice a week for a year now. She and her awesome family treat my dog like she’s their own. Yosie is a very high energy dog but she is ALWAYS exhausted from playing on the farm all day. I recommend her to all of my friends!”

“Tyler did an amazing job taking care of my cat, Sasha! He was caring, responsible, and attentive, and I felt completely comfortable knowing Sasha was in good hands. Tyler kept me updated and made sure Sasha was happy and well taken care of. I really appreciate how dependable and thoughtful he was. I would absolutely recommend Tyler to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pets!”

“Jahmilya and her family were so great with our 2 pups. She took them on at the last minute for us and sent pics and I couldn't thank her enough. Will definitely be using her services again.”

“Bertha had a great overnight stay with Rotoria. The whole family was so nice and they have a beautiful home. It was Bertha's first time sleeping away from us, and I can tell she really enjoyed it there. She was happily exhausted by the time we picked her up. Rotoria even took her took the dog park, which Bertha loves. We also received plenty of amazing pictures throughout the stay. We will definitely use her again for our out-of-town vacations. I highly recommend!”

“Solo came home a happy boy and I'm pretty sure he got a bath during his stay! He even seemed a little sad as Cameron walked away from the car. Thanks for taking care of my boy!”

“Celeste and her family took great care of my girl Curry. I was so dumb and in a rush I forgot to bring her food, but she handled it like a champ! I will never do that again. I will definitely book with Celeste again. It almost seems like my dog misses them.LOL.”

“We have been so fortunate to find Ronald. He is an excellent dog sitter. He took such good care of our dog Boomer. Also Boomer had learned some really good habits coming from his house. First time we had Boomer board his place we were in the process of training Boomer to not mark inside house. We mentioned this to Ronald earlier and he still had no issues to board Boomer. We were surprised to see that after Boomer returned he no longer had that habit anymore. I couldn’t be more thankful to him and maybe his dog :) Also Ronald has accommodated last minute requests for me. I would highly recommended him to anyone who is looking for a safe, friendly and playful environment for their fur babies.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - August
Weilin was wonderful and took great care of our pup. She was super accommodating when our trip took a little longer than expected. She sent lots of pictures and videos so we could see how our girl was doing. I highly recommend her and would definitely book with her again.

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Maria and her husband both took such wonderful care of Kingston and treated him like one of their own. He was taken on daily walks. ireceived pictures, and videos daily, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Kingston was happy, comfortable, and very well cared for. I truly appreciate the love and attention they gave him, and I wouldn’t hesitate to have them care for Kingston again. Highly recommend! ❤️🐾

Absolutely loved Chona … at short notice had to go out of town and she was available. She took great care of my dog. I have never left him with anyone but Chona made me feel overly assured that he was in good hands. I would definitely leave him again and recommend her

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their August home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your August.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your August sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
