“The BEST dog sitter ever! Treated our little guy with such love and care for the entire time. Kept us updated the entire stay with messages and pictures. Overall The best experience ever 💙”

“We were so grateful to Lisa for accepting Hina in the 11th hour when we made a last minute decision to go away for a weekend. We constantly received pics of update how Sukahina was doing and loved that Hina had other small breed dogs she could play with during her stay with Lisa. We were also grateful that Lisa was flexible in allowing us to extend Hina’s stay for one more day. I will definitely be using Lisa’s services again in the future!”

“"Maria A. did an amazing job watching Max! He had a blast at the lake, went on adventures, and even made a new friend Bruno - same size, so perfect playmate! Loved that he got lots of love and playtime with bigger buddiesu. Thanks, Maria!" 😊”

“Very sweet and understanding. Actively played with our pug so she didn't get lonely. Lots of walks and communication and pictures. Would definitely recommend her to everyone.”

About: Hi, my name is Angela! I have extensive experience with high-energy dogs that thrive on special activities and routines. As the proud owner of an Australian Shepherd named Mila, I understand the needs of smart, active dogs who require both physical and mental stimulation to stay happy and well-behaved. I absolutely adore my Aussie, and I will love and care for your pet just as much! 🐾 I also volunteer, which gives me a very flexible schedule to meet the needs of you and your furry family member. Your pet will be treated like my own, with plenty of love, attention, and care. I live in a spacious three-bedroom home, offering plenty of room for your pet to roam, explore, and even enjoy some playtime with Mila. I look forward to meeting your fur baby and providing them with the best care possible. 💜 Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. As a dog owner myself, I’m already accustomed to planning my days around activities like walks, playtime, feeding, and training sessions. I schedule my work flexibly, so I can dedicate the time and attention needed for each pet I care for. Whether it’s daily visits, extended stays, or specific routines, I seamlessly integrate pet care into my week to ensure every furry friend feels loved and well-cared for. My girl Mila is very well cared for (some might say spoiled!), and I make sure she’s fed on a consistent schedule every single day. She has plenty of toys to keep her entertained, and you can expect the same level of care and attention for your furry friend.
“I am so happy with my experience. They did an excellent job. Bridget is amazing and made me feel so secure and took such good care of my fur babies. I will definitely be using her again and again.”

About: My mother worked at a zoo when I was a child. I love all animals and they love me. I'm patient and kind. I'm compassionate and genuinely take my time. I can be trusted with your family pet. I can be your regular person to keep your pets safe while you are on vacation. I'm a stay at home mom and grand mother. I can care for your pets round the clock. Let me know everything about your pet and I will take care of them like they are my own. I don't have a yard. I live in an apartment home. 3 bdrm and 2 bath. I can take the dogs for walks in my neighborhood that is pet friendly. I live in a beautiful community. The animal must be on a leash.
“We have been so fortunate to find Ronald. He is an excellent dog sitter. He took such good care of our dog Boomer. Also Boomer had learned some really good habits coming from his house. First time we had Boomer board his place we were in the process of training Boomer to not mark inside house. We mentioned this to Ronald earlier and he still had no issues to board Boomer. We were surprised to see that after Boomer returned he no longer had that habit anymore. I couldn’t be more thankful to him and maybe his dog :) Also Ronald has accommodated last minute requests for me. I would highly recommended him to anyone who is looking for a safe, friendly and playful environment for their fur babies.”

About: I have over 10 years of experience in pet boarding and looking after the pets of my friends and family. I have assisted in training puppies as well as adult dogs, so I am more than happy to assist in training your animals while you're away by keeping up a specific schedule or regimen. I also have personal experience caring for elderly dogs as well as dogs with anxiety disorders, happy to work with them in any special ways needed. I typically find myself doing a lot of my busy work and essential activities in the afternoons and evenings. For this reason, majority of my availability for short visits will be in the mornings, but happy to discuss other arrangements if needed. I have a large backyard and property that your bestie will just love, if they stay over at my place. I have multiple sized dog beds so no matter babies size they'll have a lovely place to rest their head.

“Justine did an amazing job with Willa. This was Willa's first boarding so that is always a little nerve-wracking but Justine was very communicative the whole time. Will be booking again in the near future.”

“Patricia’s home was perfect for our Princess. We were sent daily pics. Princess was given so much play time and attention. She was so patient with Princess who was anxious the first night. I would definitely use her again.”

“Angel took great care of our beagles. Dogs seemed to be well taken care of upon pickup. Definitely would recommend and also plan to use her services again in the future”

“Angelo is an amazing guy! Took great care of my dogs while I was gone on an unexpected emergency trip. I’d recommend him to anyone needing help with getting their dogs watched any time. My pups were sad to leave his care for sure.”

“Nathan and family were great! Very communicative and our dog seemed right at home! Which is huge because she has high anxiety but she loved it with Nathan and crew. Will definitely be rebooking soon.”

“Reyes is now my go to person to watch Goose! He communicated well and is so friendly. Goose can be shy, but was very comfortable with Reyes. We will definitely be asking him to watch Goose again!”

“We are very lucky to have found Brittany and James for our 1 year old male Australian Cattle Dog, Uni. Brittany is very responsive as well as responsible. Uni is energetic & reactive and needs handlers who understand his behaviors / personalities well. They did an amazing job 👏 Thank you Brittany and James and looking forward to our longer stay in the summer! I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a responsible, loving dog care!”

About: I truly love animals, especially dogs. They’re not just pets — they’re family. Caring for them brings me so much joy, and I treat every dog with patience, kindness, and lots of love. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I plan my schedule around walks, feedings, and check-ins to make sure each pet gets consistent attention and care. Whether it’s morning walks, midday potty breaks, or evening visits, I make time to give every dog the love, exercise, and reliability they deserve. I care for pets as if they were my own, whether in my home or my client’s home. I follow each pet’s routine closely — including feeding schedules, walk times, playtime, and any specific instructions provided. In my client’s home, I make sure their pet feels comfortable in their familiar environment while keeping the space clean and secure.
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Kennedy
Rochelle and her family were great with Vinny! We went on vacation for four days and had never left him with anyone but family. This was our first time leaving him with a stranger and upon meeting, Rochelle and her children made us feel welcome. We knew he would be in good care while we were gone. They loved Vinny right away and vice versa. They were so sweet with him. The kids didn’t even want him to leave when we came to pick him up. I would definitely bring him back next time we needed to go out of town

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Kennedy home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Kennedy.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Kennedy sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
