“My husband and I are new to the area and don’t know many people yet, so using Rover for the first time made us a little nerve wracking. Briana was absolutely AMAZING and took such incredible care of our dog. He truly loved her, which made us feel even more at ease. She went above and beyond, sending tons of pictures and frequent updates throughout the day which completely put our minds at ease. Knowing our boy was in such loving and capable hands meant everything to us, and we will 100% be using her again!”

“Charlotte did a great job sitting our pup in our home! She provided updates throughout the day and kept Jackson busy and out of trouble :) Highly responsive and professional. Would definitely recommend caring for your pet!”

About: I've grown up around labs since my grandparents were breeders. All my aunts have had labs (usually more than one at a time), so I've gotten the chance to look after them and give them walks when they were away on vacation. My most recent experience was with my roommate's St Bernard. Optimus is the largest dog I've ever cared for let alone lived with. He's been a ton of work considering his previous owner's unfortunate lack of care. We've dealt with ear infections and bulking up to a healthy weight. Throughout all, patience and determination prevailed and he's our big buddy. I'm currently working three 12-hour shifts each week providing me evenings on work days and full days twice during week and all weekend for caring for cats. I'm unavailable Wednesday evenings and weekend mornings for religious reasons. I have a clean home vacuumed every morning with plenty of windows for looking out of. Scratching posts are in every room with plenty of toys and treats to go around. I love petting cats and giving belly rubs if that's their thing.
“Jennifer deserves a 10 five-stars. She is a kind, caring, and compassionate woman who loves animals and took such terrific care of both Zeus and beauty. I appreciate her honesty and integrity .”

“Andrew is the best! He was very attentive to our cats and send photos daily. We weren’t worried at all! Communication was wonderful and no issues at all. Would highly recommend him.”

About: Hi my name is Michael. I am a current senior at Wilkes who is looking to get involved in the local community. I have spent several years caring for dogs. I have two of my own at home in Stroudsburg (pit mixes), and in high school and over breaks I have pet sat and walked dogs for over a dozen homes in my community. I take pride in being a student leader and a future educator, as well as being responsible, dependable, and knowledgeable. For instance, I am well versed in dog body language, basic obedience, and many different breeds and personalities (small to big, guardian breeds, I love them all!). I am happy to reinforce the rules, expectations, and training that you have with your pet, or teach small new things like leash manners. Whether your dog needs to burn some energy, or just needs someone to check in on them throughout the week, I hope that you will consider me! Being a college student, my schedule is actually pretty flexible. I am generally available for: Morning/Midday walks/check-ins throughout the work week. Afternoon and evening visits on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Weekend stays or longer visits potentially as well. If you have any questions please reach out and I can see if we can work something out! Being a pet parent myself, I understand the varying needs and concerns when it comes to a pet sitter. Because of that, I take time to speak with all owners about expectations, routines, and how they would like me to approach their home and pets. I usually like to meet all pets with the owners before beginning care as well, simply to ensure that they are comfortable with me. Generally, I will also take notice and respond to any body language or comfort concerns, exercise and training expectations, feeding and medication routines, and any other requests that an owner or pet may bring! If you have any questions please also reach out!
“Leandra was great! It was such short notice and my anxiety about leaving my animals with a stranger in a new-to-us city was very high, but after meeting her I felt so much better taking my trip! She did not mind catering to my senior dog's needs and was fine with my larger dog too. I got updates and photos throughout the stay and it was really helpful for my peace of mind. I would hire her again in a heartbeat, highly recommend for someone patient and reliable! 10/10”

“Noelle is great and goes above and beyond. She stayed with my two dogs for multiple nights which is not easy. My dogs are lovable but they are rescues who were abused so they have behavioral issues. Noelle wasn’t worried and came to spend time with them ahead of our travel to ensure she understood their challenges and learned how to handle them. One of my dogs is people selective but loved Noelle from the start. I felt very comfortable leaving my dogs with her. She even worked on some training techniques with them during her stay. She is a true animal lover and it’s evident in her care towards all animals, treating them as her own. I highly recommend her!”

About: I grew up with dogs my entire life, including two Newfoundlands, an Australian Shepherd, a Newfie-Aussie mix, and a Chocolate Lab. My four legged friends have always had my heart, and I'll treat yours like family too! I'm a recent law school graduate, studying for the bar full-time. Pet care fits easily into my routine and I love breaking up study time with walks, playtime, and cuddles. Your pet will always be a happy priority! I always focus on keeping pets safe, comfortable, and happy, whether I am in my home or yours. I follow your pet's routine closely and make sure they get lots of attention, playtime, and supervision to ensure they feel relaxed, loved, and right at home.

“Jule was GREAT with our spoiled pups! She won the hearts of both our energetic big boy and our couch-potato old lady. We came home to two happy pups and a clean house, and will definitely be using her in the future. Thank you Jule!!”
“This was our first time using Rover and having a pet sitter for our dog. We really hit the jackpot when we booked Cristel; she is amazing!! From the moment we first contacted her, it was clear that Cristel is a compassionate and responsible professional who truly cares about animals. During our week-long booking, Cristel provided regular updates through text, photos, and videos, ensuring that we always felt connected with our girl. She provided daily walks, playtime in the backyard, and gave her plenty of love and attention. This kind of care and attentiveness isn’t just comforting; it builds real trust. Pets are family and knowing they’re in the hands of someone who treats them with that same level of love makes all the difference. We also appreciated that Cristel was comfortable caring for our pet axolotl – a first for her! 😊. Her willingness to take on the additional responsibility shows that she is not only skilled but also flexible and accommodating. We look forward to hiring Cristel again and highly recommend her to others.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ashley
We had a wonderful experience with Andrew and would absolutely recommend him! From the start, his communication was excellent; he was responsive, reliable, and kept us updated throughout our time away, which gave us so much peace of mind. Andrew was incredibly professional and took great care of our two cats. It was clear that he was attentive to their individual needs and genuinely cared about making sure they were comfortable and well cared for while we were gone. We came home to two happy cats and everything exactly as it should be. It can be nerve-wracking using a new sitter for the first time, but Andrew made the entire experience easy and stress-free. We felt completely comfortable having him care for our cats and will be happily booking him in the future!

Briana was great with our pups. Sending us pictures so we knew they were happy and having a good time. She was great at the end and left the house in great shape for us. We couldn't have been happier. We know our duo can be a lot sometimes but they were great when we got home and that's all we can ask for.

Chrissy went so far above and beyond while staying with my dogs while I was away. She’s so thorough, communicative and kind. She’s extremely knowledgeable about the heath and wellbeing of animals as well. I felt so at ease leaving my pups with her and would recommend her to anyone!

The average cost of House Sitting in Ashley is $33 per night as of October 2026. Most bookings cost between $24 and $33 per night. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the price shown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.
As of October 2026, there are 199 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ashley. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ashley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ashley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ashley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
