“Stephen was fantastic. He came to my rescue for my cat as the other sitter I had was not working out and I was already overseas. He came and spent more time than request with Reno.”

“Gwen cared for my two kitties as if they were her own. She was able to notice a change in behavior of my 16 yo cat and alerted us in time to help her. She stayed with her until we were able to make arrangements to come home early. My cats really liked her too- which is highly unusual. Would 100% recommend Gwen and would entrust our pets care to her again.”

About: I’ve been pet sitting since I was 11 years old. I’ve worked with a variety of dogs, cats, guinea pigs and bearded dragons. I'm currently in grad school so I work during the day. Weekends work best but I can also do weekdays; just ask! I'm happy to discuss scheduling with you. I do not care for pets in my home, but for my clients' homes, I make sure that the house is in perfect order when my client returns.
“Great sitter! Conscientious and truly an animal lover. Our cats warmed up to her instantly and she was very diligent in making sure that our routine was safe and replicable by her. Would absolutely recommend.”

About: I have been watching people’s furry family members for 10 years, giving them the love and care they need while their humans are away. I have experience with special needs pets, elderly pets, and other pets (chinchillas, bearded dragons, chickens, fish). I am comfortable administering medicines and other treatments, as well as cleaning up after/bathing animals when needed. I am currently working full-time at a cafe/brunch restaurant. My typical shifts are 9-4 Wednesday-Thursday. If needed I have no issue with visiting your pets on my lunch break, given that they are a feasible distance from my job. I am available to watch your pets/home for any length of time. I am aware of how stressful it can be for your pet to not only be without their family, but to have a stranger come into their home. I make a point to gain your pets trust using experience and respect. I adapt to the needs of your pet, making sure their are cared for to the fullest, while also staying within their boundaries.

“Chloe has been the best with Pheebs! Phoebe can be shy and loud towards new people and doesn’t often let them pet her. Chloe has been so patient and sweet enough to come by twice to interact with her while I was home before her official rover visit just so pheebs could get to know her. She really has gone above and beyond. Grateful to have found her!”

“Kalah did a stellar job with Piper so can be dog aggressive at times. This was our first time with anyone helping us out. She made it such a breeze. Even helped with her special diet. The pictures were so reassuring. Will be calling on her again!!”

About: Your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness will always be my priority. Whether it’s going for walks, playing, feeding, or just keeping them company, I’ll make sure they get plenty of attention and care while you’re away. I know every dog and cat has their own personality and routine, and I’ll take the time to get to know what makes your pet happiest and most comfortable. I worked as a veterinary assistant for around two years, where I gained hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. I’ve also pet sat for family and friends over the years, so I understand how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your pets while you’re away. My veterinary experience gave me the skills to care for animals safely while being attentive to their individual needs, personalities, and comfort levels. I’m currently a graduate student at UNC and would love to spend some of my time outside of school caring for your pets. I’m responsible, dependable, and excited to give your pet the same love and attention I would want for my own! I’m currently a graduate student, so I’m looking to provide pet care around my school schedule, primarily weekends/long weekends. My schedule can vary throughout the week, but I’m happy to coordinate with you to find times that work for both of us! I will care for your pets in the comfort of their own home, where they can stay in a familiar environment and maintain their normal routine. I’ll follow any instructions you provide for feeding, walks, playtime, medications, or other needs. With my previous experience as a veterinary assistant, I’m comfortable caring for both dogs and cats and will always prioritize their safety and well-being.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 1,645 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Asbury. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Asbury. On Rover:

- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
