About: I've been around dogs my whole life, my parents raised seeing eye dogs, and I helped with training and daily care from a young age. In my teens, I helped my mom run a small dog-boarding business out of our home, so I'm used to dogs with all kinds of temperaments and routines. Over the years, I've often been the go-to friend for dogs that need a little extra patience or understanding, whether that's a shy senior or a high-energy handful. I recently lost my own pup, and while l'm not ready for another full-time, I miss having a dog around and love being able to offer that care and attention to someone else's. I'm currently working on fixing up my very old duplex so I'm home, tinkering around most of the time, and my schedule is flexible. If you're worried about your pet being in a construction zone, not to worry! The living area is safe and segmented from anything that might be hazardous yet intriguing to your pet. I have a partially fenced yard, perfect for supervised play. Living in midtown means that there's plenty of interesting things to smell along walks. I can crate your dog if needed, and you're welcome to bring their own if that makes them most comfortable. I have quite a few house plants in my space, so please let me know if your pup is prone to chewing on them and I will move them out of the way for their visit.

“Lizabeth went above and beyond for a last minute emergency pet sitting, due to do the owner suffering a medical emergency. i highly recommend her services, she was absolutely fantastic!”

“Kayla was awesome. She took great care of our two cats and our house. She’s a good communicator and and kept us informed during her stay. One of our cats requires medication three times a day, and Kayla didn’t flinch at this extra work. We’re grateful for her attentiveness and gladly recommend her without reservation.”

“We felt very comfortable leaving for our long weekend knowing Katie was with our senior pup. Katie communicated throughout her stay and kept us updated. Our dog, Sally, was happy upon our return and we plan on having Katie stay over again soon!”

“Danni was absolutely amazing!! Extremely communicative, always on time, and she took a ton of photos. I know that dodger was in great hands and will be more than happy to use Danni as a sitter again in the future.”

About: Hiya! I’m John, a lifelong animal lover with over 15 years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all kinds. From my loyal Black Lab Doc, playful Mini Aussie Sakura, and regal Siberian cat Louis, to my tiny but demanding pea puffers, I’ve built a life surrounded by animals, learning how to meet their needs with patience, compassion, and respect. I’ve helped care for animals with a range of personalities and needs, from high-energy pups to sensitive or reactive pets who need a little extra space and understanding. I’m confident with medication management, basic training, and making even the shyest pets feel safe and seen. I bring the same sense of care and responsibility to pet sitting that I carried in my service as a U.S. Navy Veteran, and now as a Pre-Med Biology student. When I’m not studying or volunteering with the Belle Isle Conservancy, I’m often biking around Detroit or spending time with animals. They’re a grounding and joyful part of my life. Your pet’s comfort and well-being are my top priority. Whether they need a cuddle buddy, a calm presence, or a structured routine while you’re away, I’m here to treat them like family. My schedule is generally open and flexible, and I do my best to accommodate the unique needs of each pet and their family. While I occasionally travel, I only accept bookings when I know I can fully commit to your pet’s care. When I’m with your animals, they have my full attention, I stick to their routines, respect their comfort levels, and make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for every step of the way. When I enter someone’s home, I treat the space with the same care and respect I’d want for my own. I always aim to leave things just as I found them, if not a little tidier. I also take time to scan the environment for anything that could pose a risk or distraction to your pet, making sure the space stays safe, calm, and just the way you left it. Your home and your pet’s routine are in good hands.

Art Center pet parents share their Rover experiences
Abdullah was a great sitter for my old pup, had prompt communication and pictures, and followed the notes for feeding and walking times. My dog is older in life, about 75 lbs, with limited use of his hind legs and takes daily medication. Abdullah was able to maneuver him into his wagon, help him while outside in the grass, and take care of any accidents. It was a great experience working with Abdullah from initial communication about the booking to post trip follow-up.

This was my first time using Rover and I was admittedly pretty nervous. Loryn made everything so easy and calmed any nerves I had. My dog is pretty high energy, anxious and requires a lot of attention. Loryn took it all in stride and made it seem like no big deal at all. She kept me updated the entire week and sent pictures and videos and left my house in great shape. I will not hesitate to book her again.
