About: Hello! I’m a tenured physics Professor and a lifelong animal lover. I currently care for three cats of my own and have many years of experience caring for both cats and dogs. I have experience caring for senior pets and understand the importance of routines, medication schedules, and paying close attention to changes in behavior and health. I am patient, reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to making pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. As a professor, I bring professionalism, responsibility, and strong communication to every pet-sitting job. My schedule is especially flexible during evenings, weekends, holidays, and university breaks. Whether you need house sitting, drop-in visits, dog walking, feeding, litter box cleaning, or care for senior pets, I will treat your pets and home with the same care and respect I give my own.
“We tried Janae after our regular walker wasn’t available & another didn’t respond. She responded right away, was very accommodating, arrived early, & took good care of our Shelby. We would definitely recommend.”

About: I have pet sitting experience for more than 10+ years. I have fostered as well as owned a dog myself and implemented a training routine for them to follow commands as well as socialize with other dogs and people. I’m a huge animal lover and will take care of your pet like my own. I’m very active and able to handle any dog breed (Great Dane, pitbulls, etc.). I love being outside and I live close to a park so your dog will get plenty of exercise as well as lots of love! In my spare time you’ll find me on a volleyball court, at the gym, or at my church 😊
About: I love dogs, I grew up around them and have one of my own now. She is a rescue that I got as a puppy so I know how to take care of dogs of all ages. I'm experienced in their needs & taking care of them :) I am at home with my pup during all days of the week so I am able to give great attention & care to all pups staying with me :) I have a dog at home that lovesss other dogs and would be able to play. She can also be separated if needed as well. Dogs can be allowed on the furniture and sleep wherever they like! We will go on walks and play & whatever else may be needed to keep them in their normal routine :)

About: I grew up near a state park and lived alongside the wildlife it had to offer (gators, deer, black bears, reptiles, even a FL panther...). My pet experience began with my sweet puppy of 17 years. I was so excited to adopt my own dog, and my parents helped me prepare by giving me books and films on dog training. I watched her grow and change through all her stages of life (puppy to very geriatric); she passed last year and was the best girl. Grad school turned me into a cat mom of 2, and they probably know as much about the Krebs cycle as I do. I've been pet-sitting since I was 8 years old. I love animals, I love being outside, I would love to care for your pet! Right now I am waiting to start a new job, so I have a lot of availability through the next month! I can be flexible :) I try to start introductions slowly and let the pet know they are safe with me before attempting things like walks. I know I am in their home!

“Got to meet Tabitha beforehand. She was awesome. Sent me a text when she arrived and a picture after. She even found some money that dropped out of my car in the garage. Definitely want to have her again.”

About: I have taken care of animals since I was about 10 years old, I’ve been trusted with families as well as family, friends, and family to watch dogs. Ever since I was born, I’ve grown up with a yellow lab, and a Labradoodle, who I currently have still I’ve cared for dogs, my whole life, and understand the importance of finding someone who is reliable and trustworthy to watch your dog. I am a sophomore at the University of Kentucky and home for the summer. I have a Summer job that I work three times a week but I do not work all day, so watching your dog would be a simple task. I understand the importance of making sure your dog is safe and with someone who is trusted, which is why I will ensure to send pictures and give my full attention to your dog whether it’s helping with medicine, which I have to do with my current dog understanding its behaviors.
“Annie is the most incredible dog sitter/dog walker, etc. Blue is so happy to see her every time she visits and I know he is in the best possible hands. I trust her entirely!!”

About: I was fortunate enough to be raised in a home with a variety of animals! I have had dogs my entire life, and cats for the last decade, with bunnies, frogs, hamsters, hermit crabs, and more along the way! Anyone who knows me, knows how important my pets are to me. They are more than pets, they are my family! I have had big, medium, and small dog breeds, and worked with cats with all different personality types and backgrounds. I understand how important it is to have peace of mind with the person responsible for your family members when you're away, and with me you will never doubt that your fur babies are being spoiled! Working with me, you'll find that I can accommodate any request or 'weird pet quirk' that you may throw my way. I find that animals respond well to my calm and genuine nature, and it provides enjoyment for me as well! I just recently got engaged and am hoping to help fund my wedding and future home, please reach out if you have any questions or special requests! I am also known to send probably too many pictures while you're gone, for that extra reassurance that all is well! I look forward to becoming a part of your village, please don't hesitate to reach out for all pet and house care needs! I work from home as a mental health professional and create my own schedule, so pet care can fit very easily into my routine. I will be as flexible as possible with the families I work with, and communication will never be a concern! At this time, in order to protect my own fur babies and yours, I will not be bringing client's pets' into my own home. I find that pets are more comfortable in their own environment most of the time, and I would rather keep their comfort a priority. I follow directions provided by the families on how to best keep their pet comfortable with a new person entering their space. Reading their behavior and body language is so important!
“Ashlea was great with my introverted senior dog. It was a same day request, but she was very accommodating. My dog came home happy after her walk with Ashlea. So glad to have found her!”

About: Since graduating high school, I’ve worked as a house and pet sitter for neighbors, friends, and family. I’ve pet‑sat on and off over the last few years and am hoping to take on more jobs this summer before starting my senior year of college in August. I’m patient, responsible, and caring, and I truly enjoy spending time with animals. I can’t wait for the opportunity to work with you and your pets! I’m a college student currently on summer break, so I have plenty of free time each day to focus on caring for pets. My schedule is very flexible, and I’m able to give consistent attention and maintain a reliable routine for your pet. I always prioritize safety and comfort, whether that means supervised outdoor play, quiet indoor time, or crating if needed. I follow each pet’s routine closely, keep their environment clean, and make sure they feel secure, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
