About: I have been taking care of animals for over 35 years. Everything from dogs, cats, chickens, fish, birds, cattle, horses.... you name it, I love them all! I am available for early morning, lunch and evening walks and pet care throughout the weekdays and full-time availability on weekends. Please don't hesitate to contact with any requests. My schedule is pretty flexible. I have 3 large dogs now who love being a part of anything I’m doing. Indoors, outdoors, rain or shine, they are a part of the family in every way they can be. They all have totally different personalities, just like kids, and all have their unique traits. Two of them are rescues, that I’ve had since they were 4 weeks old. I am also very familiar with cats and farm animals from helping my family and family friends growing up and through college and beyond. I would care for your fur baby like it's my own.
“Abby was patient with my shy, anxious girl while we were away. She responded quickly to messages and put in extra effort trying to locate Koko in the house when she arrived for daily visits. Prior to booking, Abby was gracious about waiting for me to finalize dates after the M&G due to another fur baby being very ill. Happily recommend.”

“Rachel has been amazing on her visits with my baby Oxy. Rachel always goes above and beyond when pet sitting Oxy. She has scooped poop in the yard, and even taken out my trash all without being asked or expected to do so. If you're looking for a great pet sitter Rachel is amazing.”

About: I have been around dogs in the home since I was little and have experience in both dog kennels and vet offices, which trained me in how to handle dogs of all breeds, ages, and sizes. This background and experience taught me a lot about how to adapt to different needs and take care of health-related things like administering medication. I am currently a student at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center and I have a pretty flexible schedule. Being away from home, I miss our family dogs so I am always happy to love on other dogs! I currently have various school-related obligations for a few hours in the morning about 3 days during the week but otherwise have a very flexible schedule. I am busy in the afternoons but can take breaks as needed. When taking care of your dog, I will follow all instructions to make sure your dog is comfortable at all times in your home while you are away. They will get plenty of exercise and attention!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
