Maria took such great care of Suki. She’s been a bit nervous since our move and can get anxious when she’s alone at my apartment, but she was very comfortable and did so well. She’s very kind and communicative. When I picked Suki up, she was calm and happy instead of her usual big reaction, which really showed how safe and comfortable she felt. I’ll definitely be booking again!

About: I’ve spent the past 3 years working full-time as a professional dog trainer, helping dogs of all breeds and personalities build confidence and structure. I’m also a certified Master Canine Training and Behavior Specialist through Starmark Academy. I’m experienced with everything from energetic puppies to nervous or reactive dogs, always focusing on calm, positive experiences. Your dog will get patience, structure, and genuine care while they stay with me — whether we’re training, walking, or just relaxing together. If you’re looking for someone who truly understands dogs and treats them like family, I’d love to care for yours. Pet care is a core part of my daily life. I currently work full-time as a professional dog trainer with a very flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. Starting in November, I’ll be transitioning to work from home, so caring for dogs will continue to be my main focus throughout the day—just as it is now. When dogs stay with me, I focus on keeping them safe, comfortable, and confident. I maintain a calm and structured environment with plenty of exercise, enrichment, and rest so they feel secure and relaxed. I have two well-socialized dogs who get along with most dogs and are also accustomed to the crate-and-rotate method when needed. This allows every dog to have their own space and ensures a safe, low-stress environment for everyone. Each dog receives care that fits their personality, whether that means extra attention, quiet time, or more activity to burn energy. I keep routines consistent with what they are used to at home, including feeding times, walks, and training cues. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their space with respect and provide the same level of patience, consistency, and love. My goal is always to make every dog feel happy, understood, and cared for while their family is away.

About: 30+ years of experience with my own pets, fosters, puppies, seniors, and rescues. Experienced with small and senior dogs, special needs, anxiety, and smart, high-energy dogs! I love to walk and will take your dogs if that’s what they enjoy! Dogs get tons of exercise and attention at our house. Daily walks, games, and toys are all normal. I love smart and energetic breeds, but due to some balance issues, I’m better with dogs under 60 pounds. I teach from my home several days a week, so I’m often home to keep the dogs company. - For small dogs in my home they have access to our large, secure fenced yard through several dog doors. I’ll also walk them and take them out often. - For any dogs in your home, they will get plenty of exercise, cuddles, and any games they want to play. - I have experience with dogs with anxiety, rescues, special needs (older, limited mobility), and giving medication.

About: I’ve cared and watched over many different breeds of pets. I am a fond advocate of good animal care and strongly against abuse and neglect of any kind. I’m not biased to only dogs, but love animals of every kind. I’m currently working part time and also attend school, but I am not tied down to a 9-5 so I can generally work around things if need be. I have great time management and work well maintaining a schedule/routine. In my home: I will make sure they are well fed as instructed and get plenty of fresh air and socializing with me. In client’s home: I am great at following directions however the client would like or asks of.

About: I have taken care of pets since I was a young child. The families I have taken care of relied on me to take care of their loved ones and make sure they are given the correct and proper care that they need. My normal tasks are walking, feeding, giving baths when needed, and of course playtime. I am currently working full-time. I have days off during the week and also get a one-hour lunch break during my work weeks. My schedule is very flexible and can make certain accommodations. My apartment has a fenced-in yard where the dogs can roam around freely. I do not currently have any pets so your animals will have my undivided attention.

We also have a lot of dog toys to play with including balls and frisbees. I have taken care of a lot of my friends houses and animals. Jennifer was amazing with my old man! Very communicative, and accommodating for our last minute plans. She took some amazing pictures amd I could tell my pooch had a wonderful time in her home. This was my first time using Rover and she certainly set the bar very high! If I'm ever in the area again, Jennifer will be my first call. I cannot recommend her enough.

About: My 15 years as a dog owner has taught me they are family too. I will treat your dog, cat, or any other animal as if they were my family. I have always known to be good with dogs because of my kindness, patience, and neck massages. I will care for babies, the elderly, and large breeds. I have returned to college as a full-time student and drive for Lyft part-time. So, I have plenty of time to watch, visit, or board. My home is spacious, with a fenced-backed yard. I have a doggy camera if you like to check on them. I also have 2 small dogs and kids that will keep your pet company. When they come to my house they will be extra taken care of using love and affection.

As responsible pet owners, we are very selective about who takes care of our Havanese, Hannah. We have found Ashley to be a safe place of love and focused attention to Hannah's needs in our absence. When we pick Hannah up, she smiles like a joy filled child who just experienced the best play date available. We highly recommend Ashley!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Amarillo on Rover is $26.75 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

As of July 2026, there are 40 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Amarillo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Amarillo commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 40 sitters in Amarillo, 94% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
