“She is a true gift for people who don’t want to leave their babies or have a fear of the unknown of traveling without them… Kimberly cared for our senior pitbull, cat, and hamster for 5 days while we were out of town and stayed in our home. She also gave our dog his medicine 2x a day & watered our plants..She sent updates and photos daily and responded quickly to my messages… we are very picky with our pets and have some odd routines with our pets as the cat and dog have to be separated and our dog can be very needy due to incontinence and separation anxiety… we felt really comfortable with Kimberly and after retuning home I can tell she gave our babies a lot of love because our dog acted like we had never even left, he was bouncy and happy instead of his usual moping like he has done in the past after boarding or staying with family and she left our house clean with almost no trace she was here.. this was a great experience and I 100% recommend her.. I wish we had found her years ago.. there are no words to describe how happy & grateful we are.. will definitely be using Kimberly again!”

“Would give six stars if I could. Liberty was absolutely amazing with our three cats and went above and beyond by watering our plants and picking up our mail. We got updates with photos and videos at least once a day. She played with them, hung out with them, and kept track of their many quirks. I could tell the cats loved her and warmed up to her right away. We've been reluctant to travel before now because of not wanting to board our cats and not knowing someone who could come by to take care of them. The peace of mind we had on this trip, knowing they were being so well taken care of and having such a great time, made such a difference.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Sahara! This was the very first time I left my dogs with someone outside of my immediate family, so I was naturally nervous. From the moment I left for vacation, she made me and my fur babies feel completely at ease. She was caring, reliable, attentive, and treated my dogs like they were her own. Thank you!!!!!!”

“Hayda was amazing! I am always so worried about leaving my dogs, but she made me feel so comfortable and sent me pictures of them throughout her stay with them! She truly spent time to make them all happy and have a great time! Thank you again so much Hayda! We will absolutely be requesting your services again😊”

“Lauren is terrific!! My dogs loved her immediately. They get more excited to see her than they ever do to see me. She did an exceptional job taking care of my fur kids while I was away”

About: I’ve loved animals my whole life. I grew up with cats and dogs around the house, so caring for them feels second nature, not a job. Whether it’s a quick drop-in visit, a daytime hang, a walk around the block, or an overnight stay, I treat every pet like part of the family while you’re away. I’m attentive to each animal’s routine and personality: feeding schedules, medication needs, favorite toys, or just knowing when a dog wants to play and when a cat wants to be left alone. You can expect regular updates and photos so you always know your pet is safe, comfortable, and well-loved. I offer boarding, daycare, walks, and drop-in visits - happy to work around whatever your pet needs. Mornings start with a check-in cuddle and a feeding if it’s their usual time, followed by a walk or some yard time to burn off morning energy. Throughout the day, your pet gets plenty of attention: playtime, belly rubs, and naps on the couch if that’s their style. My son is part of the routine too. He adores dogs and loves helping with walks and playtime, so your pet gets even more love and energy throughout the day. Evenings wind down with a calm walk, dinner, and settling in for the night, with updates and photos sent your way so you can see how their day went. Every pet’s routine looks a little different, and I’m happy to follow whatever schedule keeps them happiest and most comfortable. Your pet’s safety always comes first, whether in my home or theirs. I keep a close eye on pets at all times, never leaving them unsupervised in unfamiliar situations, and I make sure my home is pet-proofed with no hazardous items within reach, and a calm, comfortable space for them to settle in. In a client’s home, I respect their routines and rules, keep the house secure, and make sure doors and gates stay closed so pets can’t slip out. For dogs especially, walks are on a secure leash, and I’m attentive to other animals, traffic, and anything that could startle them. My son knows the same safety rules and never handles a pet without me nearby, so there’s always responsible supervision. I also keep emergency contacts and vet information on hand in case anything unexpected comes up.
“Mckayle was very attentive to our dogs! She was willing to go above and beyond, kept our house in order and took great care of our boys! We will definitely be reaching out to her in the future if we need a house sitter! Thank you Mckayle for doing an amazing job!”

“Edi was so wonderful, she took amazing care of our three pets, was communicative, brought in mail and watered plants. She took such good care of our animals, I would have her back anytime.”

“Charlotte was absolutely wonderful! She sent thoughtful pictures and updates every day, and I came home to a spotless house and very happy dogs. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would gladly trust her again.”

“Always love using Emily to watch our pup. She is amazing with communication and we can tell she truly loves pet sitting! We have started booking trips around her availability so we can keep getting the best service.”

“Patty was great as usual! She communicates really well and always sends awesome pics. Pippin had a little limp on the first day, and she let us know right away and sent videos — thankfully he was fine, but we really appreciated how on top of it she was. He was super happy when we got home, which says a lot. Way better than boarding — so glad we booked with Patty again!”

“This was our first time using Rover and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Shawn was awesome! He gave us updates daily on our fur babies and made us feel at ease! We highly recommend Shawn!”

“I was very nervous about going on vacation for five days leaving my animals, but I found Abigail on Rover and she was absolutely amazing. I’ve told my friends about her. She took very good care of my animals. I would definitely recommend her. She gave me detailed information and updates on my babies. Thank you Abigail. You are the best.”

“Rylee stayed with our boy for a whole week while we were on vacation. She kept us updated with photos throughout the stay and followed all instructions we left her. When we got home, our house was clean and our boy was happy and healthy. We will definitely work with Rylee again. She is the best and we highly recommend!”

“Mila stayed at our house for 5 nights to care for our 2 dogs and 2 cats. I was nervous because it was the first time that they had been cared for by anyone other than family. Mila did a wonderful job and kept us updated throughout our trip with texts and pictures. When we arrived home, our babies were happy and everything in the house was as we had left it. We will definitely be using her services again in the future!”

“Patti is amazing. I felt so comfortable with Patti coming and staying at my home to watch my girls. She even sent me pictures to let me know the girls were doing well. I can't believe it but when she left, she even washed the towels and sheets and remade the bed. WOW, above and beyond for sure. I would highly recommend her for your house sitting or pet sitting needs.”

“So happy we found Zulema! This was our first time leaving out little boy with a sitter and Zulema made all of us feel at ease about it, came for a meet and greet before and the day of sitting went smooth and she kept a great company to our Skip. She is very kind, calm and friendly and we felt Skip was so comfortable around her and coming home to see him just chilled was everything. Hundred percent recommended and we'd definitely reach out again from now on! Big thank you from all of us!:)”

Jolie took great care of our boy, Sheldon (9 year old, 70 pound pit mix), for a 3 nights stay in our home! She sent pictures and updates frequently and always responded to texts quickly. She also took great care of our home and honestly left it cleaner than it was before she got there. I would 100% use her again and would highly recommend her services to others. Thank you, Jolie!!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alandale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alandale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alandale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
