About: My personal experience: I grew up with animals (dogs, cats, gerbils, hamsters, mice, birds). I even had a snake once, which I got to get over my fear of them. So, caring for animals has been a part of my life for as far back as I can remember. I am my friend's & family's designated pet-sitter & travel regularly to care for their fur babies when they are out of town. My professional experience: I volunteered at a local non-profit rescue organization & fostered some kittens (hence all the cat photos). Cats are notoriously good at hiding pain or discomfort, so this work taught me to notice subtle behavior changes for immunocompromised kittens & administering medication. I even considered starting my own non-profit, but I have a very sensitive heart & decided to find other ways to give back to the rescue community. I do this by volunteering in shelters or as a flight nanny, donating to a few organizations (in Hawaii & Puerto Rico) & being an advocate. Special needs care: I have a one-eyed kitty that needs his eye cleaned multiple times a day. I also have a deaf kitty I got from an owner surrender. They had no idea he was deaf! I discovered behavioral changes on one of a senior kitty I pet-sit and gave some suggestions to the owner, which improved their cat's quality of life. I am comfortable giving medication & hope to get more hands on experience with special needs care. Schedule: I am an early bird & my schedule is flexible. I enjoy going on walks, so it's nice when I get to go on one with a pet. Travel: Don't let the distance discourage you. I have reliable transportation and don't mind driving to give pet care. I just make it part of my day. If you see me, you're in area of care! There is value in being a consistent person in your pet's life; so, I can be your go to person when you're out of town or be there on a regular basis either through a set schedule or on-call. If you feel your pet needs more than the standard 30-min drop-in or 60-min extension, we can look at other options. I am very social with animals. That can look different depending on your pet's needs (talking, play, keeping a safe distance so they know I'm there and don't feel overwhelmed but know I'm approachable). I want to make sure your pet knows I'm around & I want to build trust. I greet them with a gentle & happy voice and let them know I am there to care for them while you are out. I will look for your pet if they are hiding. During a walk, I may chat with them and I always let them take their time sniffing around and choosing where they want to go. Dogs have their walk routine down! Before I leave, I double-check that they are within safe distance of the door so we don't have any safety issues or escape attempts. I live in a condo, so I have some safety with an enclosed hallway in my home. I enter our home carefully, as sometimes our pets get excited knowing we are coming in and I don't want to hit them with the door. When I provide care in your home (overnight stays or drop-ins), I come alone or with my husband. I do not bring my pets or other folks with me. I enter your home just as carefully as I do my own, and announce my presence to your pet.

About: I have had furry babies my whole life & got my first when I was 14. They are my entire heart! I love all the babies & would love to help others. I’m currently working part time currently until after the holidays. I work mornings at a coffee shop until 1pm and sometimes fill in at a bar for a few hours I give all the furry babies all of the love, take them on walks frequently throughout the day, make sure they are fed, clean and happy!

About: 3 years ago my friend asked me to check in on Bruno while they went on vacation. It led to continuous potty break during the day, since I worked close by. Then, my love for dogs came into full circle when two of my nieces became fur mommies to Koa and Abby. With Abby, I was able to watch her at my place, while her mom traveled. Abby came to work with me too. Koa and I have gone out on play dates. That was my Cali life, and I do miss them fur nephews/nieces, which has led me to sign up as a sitter/walker here in Hawaii. If you’re looking for a furry godmother/auntie type for your pet, I’m the one. I work full time in town and am available for either flexible or long term set schedule after 5 until 9. If you’re going on vacation, I’m ok with staying at your place to watch pet and house. Unfortunately, LL doesn’t allow pets at my place, so I can only watch/check in on your pet at your place. I live close to dog parks and trails, and would be happy to partake in outdoorsy adventures with your pet. I can manage pet sizes from Malti-poos and German Shepherd mix.
