About: Zak and I are avid animal lovers and enjoy taking care of animals of all sizes and types. We currently have 2 horses, 7 dogs, 2 cats, a ferret and a goat. I grew up in 4H showing dogs and horses and taking care of animals is my passion, and Zak is every animal's favorite pretty much instantly. We are very active and do agility and wildlife management with our Border Collies and ride horses every day. We are experienced in giving emergency first aid, and can give any medications or special care needed. Currently I have one blind cat, one deaf dog, a diabetic dog and many other ailments. Care around the holidays is not a problem for us. Thank you so much for reading this! We will treat your pet like our own :) We also are very active with the local rescue and may have additional fosters. We always make sure to balance everyone’s needs and keep everyone safe Zak works from home full time, I work from home 2 days a week. We have a 7 acre farm and a large fenced in backyard. I have a fenced in backyard and am used to dogs with all temperaments. Zak and I have cared for up to 30 dogs in one weekend while working in wildlife management (obviously not in our home 😅). We also have both worked in horse barns as well as caring for our own critters. Animal care is our passion. All of my dogs are well socialized and up to date on all vaccines. Cats and ferret can be isolated away from visiting pets completely if needed. Same with my dogs if needed. Lots of experience with behavioral and health issues
“Meredith was great! She met them a couple of times before we left, which really helped our older dog with anxiety. She connected so well with the pups. She kept us informed with pictures and videos, so we knew our pups were in good hands. She treated our home with care, too, which was appreciated. We would happily book with Meredith again!”

“Avery stayed with my pups while I was out of town. They can be a handful, and Avery handles them with ease! I’ve never come home to such calm dogs after a weekend away. Highly recommend!”

About: Hi there! I’ve had pets my entire life and currently have a 6 year old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix, so I’m no stranger to high energy dogs that need structure, exercise, and plenty of mental stimulation. Through caring for my own dog and helping friends and family with theirs over the years, I’ve gained experience with everything from daily walks and feeding routines to enrichment, playtime, and providing extra patience for anxious or reactive pups. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. One of the perks of working freelance is having a flexible schedule! That means I can often accommodate daytime walks, drop-ins, and last-minute requests. I love spending time with animals, so getting to care for pets throughout my week is something I genuinely enjoy. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my goal is to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while maintaining their normal routine as much as possible. I’ve been trusted by friends and mutual friends to care for both their homes and pets over the years, so I understand how important that trust is and don’t take it lightly. I treat every home with respect, provide regular updates, and strive to give pet parents peace of mind while they’re away.
“Mardi did an incredible job taking care of our cats and home while we were away for a week! She followed our instructions perfectly, sent regular updates and photos, and left our house in even better condition than when she arrived. I’m usually a little anxious about leaving the cats when we travel, but I was able to relax and enjoy our trip knowing everything was safe in her hands. I will absolutely book her again the next time we need a cat sitter!”

About: I’ve been an animal keeper for the last 3-4 years working with various exotic wildlife and am currently the Vet Tech/Keeper for (mostly) lemurs. I have great experience and knowledge working with animals (including domestic pets). I volunteered at my local animal shelter working with dogs and cats for many years, doing routine tasks such as feeding, cleaning, bathing, and walking. Apart from basic necessities like feeding and cleaning, I also have great experience preparing and administering medications and am confident in my abilities to handle exceptional dogs and cats that may need more complex care. Outside of my work experience, I have my own personal experience caring for my family pets, including dogs, cats, many rodents, and now chickens. Since high school I have frequently pet sat for friends and acquaintances with a wide range of pets including dogs, cats, lizards, fish, and horses. I am available in the mornings most weekdays, with lesser availability on the weekends. My availability can be flexible upon notice. On weekends right now, I am available only in the late afternoon and evenings. Am only looking to care for pets at the client’s house due to my own housing and pet situation. I’ve cared for pets in this context before and first and foremost, I respect people’s property and homes and can be trusted to be professional and clean. I am flexible to work accordingly with the client’s preferences in regard to how they their pets need to be cared for.
About: I’ve been a pet mom for over 25 years while raising my five children. Since losing my loyal companion 2 years ago and empty nesting, I am ready to shower love and care to your beloved pet. There’s nothing like the unconditional love of a pet and I can’t wait to meet your furry companion! I am currently a companion to my 90 year old mother and am home every day. I can easily incorporate care for your pet into our very flexible schedule. I can offer walks, play and companionship to your pet and visits to dog parks if they like to play with other dogs. Deck available at home- yard is not fenced in. Beautiful walking area around the lake behind our home.
“Hunter was awesome with my two Great Danes. He let them get use to him in a way that made them feel like they weren’t alone. He was not bothered by their size or how loud they barked. Would definitely recommend and hire him again.”

About: I have been around dogs my whole life. Dogs seem to take to me well. I’ve worked as a junior groomer for a few months and trained my own dog. Not professionally, but he listens and understands. I’ve always loved dogs and been an animal person! I have an almost 4 month old baby so I have been a SAHM. I love to work and would like to help my family more. This way I can be at home loving on my son and also your fur babies! We just moved into our forever home due to my husband being retired Navy. We got married in Hawaii where he was stationed and I grew up. Our neighborhood was military and I would watch peoples dogs, board, check ins, walks. I worked at a doggie daycare and became close with a client who would bring her dog over to me to watch instead. Also, became very close with some people in the neighborhood whom I’ve take care of their dogs and now can say are friends like family!
“Paris was very responsive to my questions, comments, and requests. I appreciated the care she gave my dogs. They are pretty independent but having someone there to keep them company and watch the house while I am gone gives me peace of mind while I am traveling.”
About: My experience comes from the real thing. I've cared for my friend's Greater Swiss Mountain Dog for weeks at a time, solo — handling walks, feeding, and everything in between. That's a big, strong dog, and keeping up with one builds genuine confidence. What I bring to every dog I sit is simple: I pay close attention. I take time to learn how a dog communicates, what makes them comfortable, and what they need to feel settled. Every dog has a personality, and I think it matters to actually get to know it. My approach is kind but calm and confident — dogs pick up on that quickly. I have a flexible schedule, which means I'm not rushing in and out. Your dog gets real time and real attention, not just the basics checked off a list. Pet care fits naturally into my current routine. I have a genuinely flexible schedule, which means I'm not squeezing your dog in around a packed day. I can be present, attentive, and available when it matters. When I'm in your home, I follow your lead. You know your dog and your space better than anyone, so I start by listening to your routines, your preferences, and any specific needs your pet has. I don't come in with a one-size-fits-all approach. I treat every home and every animal with respect. That means sticking to your dog's established routine as closely as possible, keeping the environment calm, and paying attention to how your pet is feeling throughout my time with them. My goal is simple: your dog should feel like not much has changed, just that a calm, attentive person is there with them.

About: I can’t have a pup of my own so caring for other people’s dogs is what I love to do! I have boarded a dog for 8 months in the past and continue to house and dog sit whenever the opportunity arises. I have 5 years of dog handling experience and I take pride in giving owners solid peace of mind so they can go about their day knowing their 4 legged family member is well taken care of. I understand that every dog is different and you can rest assure I will go over each and every detail concerning your pup. When I care for dogs, I treat them as my own, providing lots of love and attention. I promise to treat your pup as you would, a day full of walks and belly rubs.

About: I’ve had pets my whole life, and I understand what it’s like to leave them at home and miss them every second, wondering if they’re okay. I’ve taken care of dogs and cats from infancy to end of life, bad babies and anxious angels (a current description of my two cats), every one deserves compassion and love! I’m a manager for a small retail business during our slow season, so my schedule is flexible! Just let me know what your needs are so we can see if it would be a good fit, I’m very responsive. I am very happy to provide whatever is preferred to keep your babies happy! Playtime, mealtime, long walks, crating, etc is no problem at all.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ai walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ai maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ai choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
