“Thalia was amazing. I was able to enjoy my vacation and not worry about my 2 dogs. She loved on them and made sure they stayed on schedule. I will definitely be using her in the future.”

“Laura was caring and loving to our cats while on vacation. She communicated quickly and we came home to our cats happy and healthy. We would have her watch our cats again in the future! 🩷🐈🐈⬛”

“Victoria exceeded all expectations! I have 2 cats (15 & 6) that both required different levels of care and Victoria was able to handle both of them. She was very thorough in her prep and we had a video consult to go over all expectations, requests, questions, etc. She was detailed and asked questions I hadn’t even thought to cover. During the pet sitting, she kept me updated at all time and provided pictures to let me know the girls were doing okay. My 15 year old cat requires multiple medications that can sometimes be difficult to administer and she was able to administer with no issues. Nothing about this was a negative experience and I would recommend her to anyone!! I will definitely be rebooking her in the future.”

“AnnaMaria is an excellent and exceptional dog caregiver. Not only is she caring but she understands dog behavior and knows how to respond to each dogs personality. Send me photos and a video each day. The senior Bull Terrier had to be taken to our vet for a checkup due to surgery a week before and AnnaMaria took care of this for us. Gave our senior dog her meds and played fetch with our 18 month old Bull Terrier. AnnaMaria is the best and I highly recommend her as a caregiver for any dog.”

“Monica was great and I highly recommend her! I booked her for a 3 night stay with my dog and two cats, which I was super anxious about. It was the first time I was leaving them in a while given that one of my cats went on subcutaneous fluids. I was ?very anxious about him potentially missing his night time dose so, despite the long commute, Monica came for the M&G and a second visit for extra practice with the injection. For the stay I was willing to work around her work schedule with a dog walker, but she was lovely enough to take most of the days off so that she could fully focus on the crew. During my time away I got plenty of updates and I came back to a clean apartment and content animals.”

“Sierra was great! Very flexible and timely. She kept us updated and sent pics. Most importantly the dogs didn’t even miss us because they really liked her. Will definitely be using her again!”

About: I have been an ongoing volunteer at the Animal Defense League of San Antonio since I was about 9 y/o, taking the dogs on walks and socializing the cats and kittens. I have thorough knowledge and experience with raising and fostering kittens, as well as dogs just under 1y/o. I've owned and fostered cats and dogs at varying life stages, throughout my entire life as well. I am well experienced and knowledgeable in animal care and the handling of a myriad of pets and wildlife. While currently also shadowing a very experienced and accredited dog trainer, I am definitely confident in my ability to provide extra care and love for your sweet, fur-babies. Currently, I am in-between jobs, so I as long as I have about a day's heads-up, I'm usually free pretty much any day to care for you furry friend. I perfer to start my work day around afternoon to late afternoon, though morning time isn't a deal-breaker. After meeting and getting acquainted with your fur-baby, I'd appreciate it if, after being told everything you want me to be aware of your pet, you were to also write down detailed notes about your pet's daily routine; feeding times, what food/treats they are and aren't allowed to comsue, common behaviors, what they're allowed and aren't allowed to do around the house, any necessary medications (if any), etc.
“John was great! He made me feel comfortable with leaving Mocha while I went out of town, he communicated constantly and she enjoyed having him around. I will definitely use his services again”

About: I've grown up around dogs and currently have three of my own, so caring for them has been part of my daily life for years. I've also dog sat for family and friends, handling feeding, walks, playtime, and making sure pets feel comfortable while their owners are away. I understand that every dog has a different personality and routine, and I always prioritize their safety, happiness, and well-being. I'll treat your pet with the same care and attention I give my own, and I'll keep you updated with photos and messages during every visit. I'm currently a university student with a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide dependable pet care throughout the week. I do my best to accommodate each pet's routine, whether that means morning walks, afternoon visits, or evening check-ins. I'm happy to communicate with owners to find a schedule that works best for both them and their pets. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow all feeding, walking, and medication instructions provided by owners and make sure pets stay on their normal routine. I'll always keep doors, gates, and leashes secure, provide plenty of attention and exercise, and send regular photo and text updates so you know your pet is happy and well cared for while you're away.

About: Hello, I’m Matthew, based in the San Antonio area with prior experience owning and caring for a husky. I understand the importance of consistency, exercise, patience, and clear communication when it comes to pets. I currently offer evening and weekend availability for: * Dog walking * Drop-in visits * Weekend sitting * Overnight care Because I work full-time during the day, I’m best suited for dogs that are comfortable being alone during normal work hours. At this time, I’m unable to provide constant care or all-day supervision services. As a former husky owner, I’m familiar with: * High-energy breeds * Long walks and exercise needs * Leash handling * Feeding routines * Basic grooming and care * Maintaining calm and consistent routines I pride myself on being reliable, communicative, and respectful of both pets and owners’ homes. I’m happy to provide updates and photos during visits so you can feel comfortable while away. For everyone’s comfort and safety, I prefer to schedule a meet & greet before new bookings whenever possible. Looking forward to meeting you and your pup! Pet care fits naturally into my routine outside of my full-time job. I’m available for evening walks and drop-in visits during the week, and more flexible availability on weekends for overnight care or extended visits. I maintain a structured and reliable routine, which helps me provide consistent care, exercise, feeding, potty breaks, and attention for pets. Because I work during standard daytime hours, I’m best suited for dogs that are comfortable being alone for part of the day and do not require constant care. I enjoy staying active and understand the importance of keeping dogs mentally and physically engaged, especially high energy breeds like huskies. I focus on creating a safe, calm, and consistent environment for every pet in my care. In a client’s home, I make it a priority to follow the owner’s instructions closely regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, routines, house rules, and preferred care methods. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners feel comfortable while away. Safety is very important to me, especially during walks and outdoor time. I pay close attention to leash security, surroundings, and each dog’s comfort level and behavior. As a former husky owner, I understand the importance of exercise, structure, and attentiveness with high energy breeds. I treat every client’s home respectfully and professionally, keeping things clean and secure during visits or overnight stays. At this time, I primarily offer care in clients’ homes, along with walks and drop in visits, based on my work schedule and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Zuehl walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Zuehl maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Zuehl choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
