“Megan is awesome. Great communication & moose loved playing and running in their yard. My first time leaving him with anyone and I felt assured he was in great hands. Definitely recommend”

“Britney and her family took such excellent care of our dog! They were attentive & responsive and sent us many photos and updates throughout the week. I know my dog enjoyed his time with them. We look forward to rover-ing with them again (and again)!”

“Your family always spoils my baby doggie to pieces and takes such great care of her. Always great to know that there’s a family like yours that we can depend on to love on our doggie when we have to go out of town. Thank you so much again! Cristina is the best doggie sitter EVER!!”

“Christina was amazing and sent pictures daily of my pup, Maple 🍁 during her stay. Communication was easy and would definitely recommend her for your dog sitting needs! 🐶”

“Katy was a last minute blessing to us for an extended stay. I was very uneasy about needing to leave my Buster in a new place for 3 weeks when my usual sitter became ill, but Katy sent frequent updates and photos that eased my mind. She loved on him and he quickly bonded with her own dog. She has a great set up for dogs with a doggie door to the back yard allowing them to go in and out at will. I would highly recommend her and will definitely be leaving my Buster with her again.”

“Julie watched our two pugs for 20 days and did an incredible job. Leaving two dogs for almost three weeks can be stressful, but Julie made the process seamless. She provided consistent updates and daily photos. We came home to happy, relaxed dogs. We will definitely be booking with Julie again!”

“Tara was wonderful with Honey! It was my 1st time leaving her and Tara kept me in the loop with pics and updates. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to dogs, I have a hyper, reactive puppy on my hands and she was so reassuring that there wouldn't be any issues, and there wasn't. Tara is kind, professional and reliable. Will definitely use her again if needed and highly recommend her!”

“Kashawna was kind, responsive, loving, and exactly what my four legged kid needed! Our baby is high maintenance with insulin twice a day, pain meds once a day, and snuggles all day. Kashawna and her family loved on her and took great care of her while I was on vacation. 10/10 recommend!”

“Madison and her family were AMAZING!!! She was very responsive during the whole process. She sent 2-3 updates a day with pictures AND videos. I’ll definitely be using her for future bookings! Penny can’t wait to visit again!!! 💗🐾”

“Dasha loved her stay with Karen!! We received lots of updates via pictures and videos. Dasha came home calm and happy! (Although I think she’s a little sad to not be hanging out with her new friends). I will definitely be booking future stays with Karen. I particularly like that she knew how to introduce Dasha to her crew. It showed a high level of care, both for my pup and hers!!”

“Vanessa did an amazing job with my two girls! She was extremely easy and flexible to work with, and understood each of their individual quirks & needs. One of my dogs is very scared of people and she even was cuddling next to Vanessa by the end of their stay. Both of my dogs loved her and I will definitely be using her again in the future!”

“Margery was wonderful! She gave our fur baby a lot of love and was patient with him when he was having anxiety from being in a new place. She provided daily updates and pictures. I recommend her to anyone looking for a home away from home!”

“Maggie so enjoyed her visit with Christina! Maggie has been an indoor city girl in Florida her entire life. This was her first time having the run of a yard. Christina’s yard is huge with lots of trees and things to climb on/through. Her Boxer Bandit and Maggie became buddies right away. Christina was the perfect hostess. Maggie’s 3-day stay could not have been better. I highly recommend her and Maggie will definitely visit again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Our pups always have a great time staying with Matthew and Heidi - they're great! So communicative, kind, and caring with our dogs. We appreciate the care they provide!”

“This was our first time using Rover. Nikki and Dave did a great job watching our two dogs Otto and Milo. They are both senior dogs and needed to take daily medication. They took excellent care of our dogs and we felt they were in very caring and loving hands. They kept in touch with daily updates and photos. We would definitely use them again.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Zoar Heights
Nicole was amazing! I know I have a high maintenance dog because of the breed, him not being neutered and trying to mark everywhere, and having a very anxious and very attached kind of personality. I left a very detailed and lengthy message for her prior to dropping my little man off about everything I could think of that might make the experience easier for both of them. And not only did she adhere to everything I asked her to do, but she exceeded well above my expectations of what my idea of a sitter should do and be! I also would like to mention that the day I was supposed to drop my pup off, we were dealing with a severe ice storm that had made the roads very treacherous and businesses close. It was a nightmare getting my rental car and my drop off times continued to change because of it. Nicole very easily could have canceled on me or told me to take a hike. Instead, she put my mind at ease and told me to just get there when I got there, and safely. She is super flexible and easy going and I could not ask for a better person to take care of what I consider as a family member! She updated my fiance and I often with pictures, and even introduced our little man to a dog park- something I was always nervous about doing because of his adhd and inability to stay focused very long on certain things. She also was very flexible with my pickup time as I was driving back from a 10-hour trip and was unsure of my arrival time. I look forward to booking future stays with Nicole! Y'all are crazy if you book anybody else!

This was our second time booking with Shekinah and again amazing care of our girl! We had a trip come up with very short notice on our end and we were lucky enough she was available! Thank you again for taking care of Chai, it is great to see her comfortable with a second family!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Zoar Heights home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Zoar Heights.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Zoar Heights sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
