“Mars provided more care than I could have hoped for. She was fantastic with our animals, had great communication and even did some cleaning before she left! I am so glad we found her. We will absolutely be asking her to watch the fur babies again!”

“Rachel was very responsive in all communication and accommodating to all of my cat's needs and quirks! My cat is a scaredy cat and didn't come out much but Rachel still kept me updated on how everything was going. I'm really happy I found Rachel and will continue to use her services in the future!”

About: I am currently a junior at OSU majoring in zoology. I have a cat named Troye whom I have had for 1 year. I grew up with dogs and have experience giving oral medication. I also have 3 years working with large mammals at accredited zoos. I am a full time student at OSU, so I am looking to work locally in Stillwater, but can also serve surrounding areas like Guthrie and north Edmond depending on my schedule. I feel free to reach out and ask any questions! I live in a small apartment, so I am looking for clients interested in walks and drop in visits and housesitting! I will always treat your home and pets with the same respect that you would, and would love to set expectations on both ends before booking!
“Vanessa does amazing with my high energy, anxious husky! He’s a lot to handle but she makes it look easy. She house sat for a week and when I came home he was the least anxious I’ve ever seen. Vanessa is dependable, kind and a hard worker. Highly recommend!”

About: I have experience caring for all types of animals, including dogs, cats, rodents, fish, and exotics. I am a Certified Veterinary Assistant with 250+ clinical experience hours, pursuing a degree in Veterinary Medicine. I will be interning at a vet clinic this summer, but I will have a fairly flexible schedule for care for pets in their own home. Pet care for pets of my own is a part of my weekly routine, including bathing, cleaning, and feeding. I hope to make client pet care a part of my weekly routine as well. I have experience in all aspects of pet care, to ensure a safe and healthy environment to all involved. Cleaning, feeding, bathing, and medication administrationh are just a few of the ways I can cater to you and your pets needs. Creating and maintaining an environment perfect for your pet is my top priority.

About: I’ve been taking care of all types of animals ranging from hedgehogs to special needs dogs. Never have I found a challenge that I couldn’t overcome I’m a college student with only a couple of classes every day, none of which would interfere with caring for an animal I have been put in charge of I know from personal experiences that keeping your pet in their own environment Is always better than dragging them out somewhere new, whether I’m staying the night, or just popping in a couple times during the day we’ll be best friends by the end of day 1
“Abby house sat for us and our dog Christmas for a week while traveling and she was amazing!! Wonderful communicator, sent great updates, and took great care of our elderly pup. Would highly recommend Abby for any pet care needs!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up on a farm, animals have been something I’ve loved since I was little. My passion was mainly towards cattle, but after I moved to college I began watching my friend’s dogs when they were gone on extracurricular activities and I fell in love again! It made me not miss home so much and I gained a new skill of learning to care for these special animals in my friend’s lives. Before and after class I help walk, feed, and take care of dogs of all sizes and kinds. Ensuring their health and well being is my main concern. I am also very good at overnight stays when owners are away from home and checking on the needs of the pet. I take care of my pets like they are my babies. My cattle have been a shining example of this. After raising my own for over 10 years, being loving and caring to animals comes naturally, so no matter what animal, the kind and appropriate response to the pet will be used because I know, these animals are very close to our hearts. I will cater to each animals need respectfully and responsibly.
“This is the second time Alora has sat for our dog, Remy, and she always does a wonderful job! She provides plenty of updates and Remy was happy and content the whole time we were gone. Would absolutely recommend and will definitely use Alora again!”

“We couldn't have asked for a better house and pet sitter! All of our pets are seniors, and each one has medications or special care needs. Leaving them is never easy, but she gave us complete peace of mind. She followed every instruction we left, from medications and feeding schedules to taking care of our home and even setting the alarms exactly as requested. What stood out the most was how much she genuinely cared for our animals. She didn't just meet their needs—she loved on them and treated them like they were her own. Coming home to happy, well-cared-for pets meant the world to us. We are incredibly grateful for the care and attention she gave both our home and our furry family members. We will absolutely be using her again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, dependable, and compassionate!”

About: I’ve had a passion for animals for as long as I can remember. Before I was able to have a pet of my own, I cared for stray animals by making sure they had food, fresh water, and plenty of love. Now, as a dedicated dog owner and pre-vet student, I’ve gained experience caring for my dog with heartworms and allergies, including administering medication, monitoring her health, and giving medicated baths. I treat every pet with patience, compassion, and the same level of care I give my own I’m currently a full time student and working a part time job at the OSU vet hospital. When school begins in august I will be available after 5pm and all day available on the weekends. I might have the opportunity to do drop ins during the weekdays depending on classes. I will treat their/your home with respect and kindness. In their eyes I am a guest so I want to make sure they are comfortable as possible. If that means laying on the floor giving cuddles is the best for them that’s a great idea! Or if they just like to be in someone’s presence I can definitely bring a book and hang out with them.

“She’s both perfect. She’s so sweet. She works so hard sending updates. I don’t know if there’s a word to explain how wonderful she is and she’s going places and I’m so proud of her and so is God.”

About: I have owned pets all my life from dogs and cats to ferrets and lizards. I am currently studying animal science in pursue of a degree in veterinary medicine. I have trained puppies and volunteered at shelters so I have been exposed to lots of different dog breeds. Last summer I worked side by side with a Vet and gained lots of experience with many animals. My schedule is very flexible considering I am a college student and only work when I am home on breaks. I am working at a vet clinic and getting experience in that field. I am also available on weekends and capable of working with you to put the needs of your pet first. My dogs have a fenced in yard so during this time of year they spend a lot of time outside and playing fetch. We have crate trained them as puppies so I can accommodate to any means necessary.
“Gleris was amazing as our in home pet sitter for our two dogs! She sent daily photos and kept in touch with us during the entire time we were gone. Both of our dogs were well cared for while we were gone. Gleris is very trust worthy, and we felt very comfortable leaving our dogs in her care for 5 nights.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Yost walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Yost maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Yost choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
