“Very responsive and great with my dogs. Both of my girls are very skittish and she won them over quick! She kept my home neat, made sure the girls were taken care of, and sent me amazing photos🫶🏽10/10”

“Vanessa does amazing with my high energy, anxious husky! He’s a lot to handle but she makes it look easy. She house sat for a week and when I came home he was the least anxious I’ve ever seen. Vanessa is dependable, kind and a hard worker. Highly recommend!”

“Lindsey was wonderful with our 2 cats. They are both naturally friendly and a bit demanding when it is feeding time. Lindsey was able to allow them time to play outside and keep them company every night. She has been a great sitter!”

“Rachel was very responsive in all communication and accommodating to all of my cat's needs and quirks! My cat is a scaredy cat and didn't come out much but Rachel still kept me updated on how everything was going. I'm really happy I found Rachel and will continue to use her services in the future!”

About: I have been around dogs my whole life !! I currently have two dogs of my own as well. I do some dog training. Sit, stay, lay, shake, crate training, and potty training. I work full time however I get two breaks and only work Monday-Thursday. I work from 8-5 and take a break at 1130 and 2:30. I live in a house and have a closed in fence. I take my dogs for a walk or run every day and will play fetch or tug of war with them in the yard. The dogs get lots of outside time and my girls love having new friends to play with! A kennel is not required but I do ask if you have one to bring it. Since we have our own dogs and also board more than one dog we put them up in the kennel when going to sleep at night.

I understand that leaving your pet with someone new can feel stressful, so my goal is to make sure both you and your pet feel comfortable, safe, and cared for every step of the way. My veterinary training gives me experience recognizing signs of illness or discomfort, administering medications, and caring for pets with special medical needs. Whether your pet is a playful puppy, a senior companion, or requires extra attention, you can feel confident knowing they’re in knowledgeable and capable hands. I tailor my care to each pet’s unique personality and routine. I pride myself on being dependable, communicative, and detail-oriented. You’ll receive regular updates, photos, and messages so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, healthy, and receiving plenty of love and attention while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! I am currently focusing on school so your animal will be my top priority and I will be fully available for all of their needs! I will make sure the animal is in safely, properly taken care of for all the required needs and wants, Always lock the door on my way out!
About: I have been pet and house sitting for friends and family since I was 16 years old. I love animals (sometimes more than people). I can take care of all different types of needs that your beloved pet might have. Long walks, baths, morning and night time routines, special diets, etc. I have even taken care of a dog with diabetes before. I do not have much experience with other animals but I am a quick learner. I would love to take care of any pet you may have. I am a full time student at Oklahoma State University and I have a part time job that I work as well. I wouldn’t be gone from my house or yours any longer than the hours that would consist in a normal work or school day. I’m not normally gone that long but that is the longest I would be gone in a day. I have a pretty open schedule for the most part because a few of my classes are online. I don’t have any pets at home anymore. Sadly my childhood dogs passed away this summer and while I am not ready to get my own dog yet I still love taking care of animals! I kept a lot of their old things so I have plenty of toys, dog beds, and blankets that your animal would be welcome to use. I also have a dog door and fenced backyard that is available for use as well. The dog door can be shut or left open depending on what works best for your animal.
“Sierra was amazing while watching Okie! She responded promptly, carefully followed Okie’s transition to adult food while keeping an eye on her symptoms, and took her on plenty of walks. She was very respectful of our home and communicated multiple times a day, sending lots of photos, which we really appreciated. She even offered to take Okie to her grooming appointment when it got rescheduled while we were away, which meant so much to us. It truly felt like she cared for Okie as if she were her own. She saved us from having to fly with our 10-month-old puppy, we couldn’t be more grateful!”

About: I've had a dog for as long as I can remember. Love them. I have watched many of my friends dogs as well. One of my best friends fosters many dogs and they are great trainers and I have learned a lot from them as well with training. My schedule is flexible so as long as I have a schedule ahead of time I can plan on helping on the weekday or weekends. I am loyal and on time so you can trust me with your babies. I will give lots of hugs and kisses and can get them out to play as well.
About: From fur to feathers to scales, I have years of hands on animal care experience through personal pet care and professional wildlife hospital and zoo work. I’m currently a wildlife biology graduate student at OSU, and my background has made me very comfortable observing animal behavior, following detailed care routines, and noticing small changes in an animal’s comfort or health. What sets me apart is my reliability, patience, and attention to detail. I’m comfortable caring for active dogs, shy pets, and animals that need a calm, consistent routine. I’m happy to follow specific feeding, walking, medication, or enrichment instructions and will always keep owners updated while they’re away. Pet care fits well into my daily and weekly routine because my schedule as a graduate student is flexible and varies by day. I’m often able to offer morning, afternoon, and evening visits depending on my class, lab, and fieldwork schedule. I’m happy to coordinate with owners ahead of time to make sure their pet’s routine is followed as closely as possible. I’m especially available for drop in visits, dog walks, and house sitting, and I’m comfortable building pet care around feeding schedules, medication times, walks, playtime, and regular check ins. Safety and trust are very important to me, and I always want pets and owners to feel comfortable. In a client’s home, I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding routines, medication, walking preferences, crate use, litter box care, and any house rules. I make sure doors, gates, crates, and leashes are secure, and I always double check that pets are safe before I leave. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and comfort level, especially with shy, nervous, or high energy animals. I’m patient and will never force interaction if a pet needs space. I’m also happy to send regular updates, photos, and notes so owners know how their pet is doing while they’re away. For walks and drop ins, I prioritize safe handling, secure leashing, and following each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible.
About: I have vet experience and experience with a variety of animals like dogs, cats and livestock. I have an knowledge of animal behavior and take all the necessary precautions to ensure your pets are treated properly. I’m currently in college, and about to apply to vet school. When caring for pets in clients home, I strive to keep pets routines as normal as possible including feeding schedules, walks and playtime. Consistency is key especially for pets with anxiety. I also keep the clients house clean and maintain boundaries for pets based on the owner’s preferences. I’ve worked with animals with different needs, ages, and personalities and loved them all! I am really good with senior animals and have lots of experience in that area! I’m currently a full time student with a very flexible schedule! I’m free to hang out with your pets weekends, and weekdays after 4. I have a later start in the mornings so I’m free for early walks or whatever you need! I am very clean and organized and will leave your home the same or better than I found it! I am also very adaptable and can work in any space with any pet!

About: I come from a big family who loves pets! Have plenty of experience caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, and livestock since I was a little kid! I’m currently a full-time student at osu. My dog gets a walk before and after class and I spend a lot of time training him/getting his energy out in the afternoons. I shape my schedule to make sure pets are always well cared for. With my current apartment complex i unfortunately cannot board other dogs in my home. But I have transportation and would be more than happy to check in on yours as many times a day as needed!

About: I have grown up around both cats and dogs of all sizes and personalities. I was raised with German Shepherds, so I am very familiar with working and protection breeds and understand how to read their body language, respect boundaries, and build trust properly. I volunteer at the humane society where I work with a wide variety of dogs and cats, including high-energy, shy, and more reactive animals. This has helped me learn how to adapt to each pet’s needs and personality. I have experience caring for large dogs (100+ lbs), small breeds, puppies, senior dogs, and cats. I have also fostered a pit bull, which gave me experience managing higher-energy dogs that need structure, patience, and mental stimulation. I am comfortable administering medications, caring for pets after procedures like spay/neuter, and handling both playful and more reserved animals. I pay close attention to behavior, routines, and small details to make sure pets stay happy, safe, and comfortable. I am currently a full time student but my schedule is flexible and open. I can check mornings briefly but afternoons and evenings I can spend more time! I have both cats and a dog, so I’m very used to maintaining a consistent routine and making sure pets get the attention, care, and structure they need. I follow feeding schedules closely and always make time for play, exercise, and affection. I understand that pets can feel stressed when their owners are away, so I focus on creating a calm, comfortable environment and keeping their routine as normal as possible. I treat every pet like they’re my own and make sure they feel safe and cared for at all times.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mehan walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mehan maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mehan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
