“Kona had a great stay at Shannon and David’s! They were welcoming and warm which made Kona very comfortable. Pictures were so cute. He loved the long walks too! We were able to have a great weekend in Ellicottville with no worries. I highly recommend them and would absolutely have Kona stay on our next visit!”

“Alena was VERY accommodating. We ran into a hiccup during boarding and she was so helpful in working out a solution. I loved the pictures and videos of Kirra!”

“We are so glad that we found Mary! She worked with us on short notice and was extremely flexible with the details of our booking. While we were away she sent us daily updates and photos that put us at ease and allowed us to truly enjoy our trip. She made our dog extremely comfortable, and even took her to the park when the weather allowed. Our dog also loved the company of Mary's sweet dog Maggie. We would absolutely book with Mary again!”

About: In my life, I always had pets/family members to care for and love. I enjoyed walking them, giving them baths, play with them and give them hugs and kisses. Today I have 9 dogs, Shih Tzu, Beagle, chihuahua/pomeranian mix, Black Labs, German Sheperds, Blue tick hound and a Saint Bernard, 3 cats and a bearded dragon of my own. I graduated BOCES in Small Animal Science were I did husbandry, clinic work, grooming and played with all types of small animals from mice, degu, birds, snakes, turtles, rabbits, dogs and many more for 2 years. I love all animals which is why I am a student at SUNY Oswego University with a major in zoology. I can't wait to meet you and your best friend.

“Jessica is the absolute best!! I was nervous about my dog getting along with her dog but we took it slow and they ended up being so good together. Jessica sent me pictures and updates while she had my dog and took such great care of her. I will most definitely trust Jessica with my dog every time I need a sitter, she’s FANTASTIC!!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life. I’m known as the “animal whisperer”. All animals seem to love me, and everyone can see that. I do this as my actual job, so I’ll be home all day with your pets. I will treat them as if they’re my own animals. They’ll get some one on one time, long walks, play time, cuddle time, snacks (like peanut butter), and so much more. People call my home the “pet’s paradise”.

“Monica is so friendly and kind. This was the first time we used Rover for Sophie and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. You can tell she is a dog lover and I felt totally comfortable leaving Sophie with her for the week. Loved that she sent me pictures throughout the week too!”

About: Hi there! My name is Kayla and I have been a dog lover since I got my first dog at 7 years old. I grew up with a Golden Retriever (Jeter), when he passed I was devastated, but knew I could not live without a dog in my life. I got a mini golden doodle (Rylee) who is currently 4 years old. I also ended up adopting a heeler/dachshund mix (Mavis) who is 7 months old. I have experience working with all different sized animals of all ages. I took care of my senior dog, assisting him with a broken leg and have experience with puppies and training. Pets are family and I know how important it is to find a caring and loving individual to be with your pet, let me be that person for you! I am currently a school counselor with many days off during the summer and breaks. I am able to board your furry friend on weekends and during days off! I am available every day for dog walks after 3:30pm. With my love for animals, I will ensure endless cuddles and playtime for your pet. I live on 3 acres of land with enough space for your pet to run and play. Right up the road is my mother’s house who lives on 60 acres of land and a pond if your dog likes to swim where I can take them to anytime! If your dog is crate training or trained, I would love to set that up for you.
About: I’ve cared for friends’ and family members’ dogs and cats for years and truly love being around animals. I’m also a proud owner of an 80-lb Bernese Mountain Dog, so I’m comfortable caring for larger dogs and understand the patience, attention, and love they need. I’ll treat your pets like family, whether that means going for walks, playing, giving plenty of belly rubs, or settling in for some good snuggles. 🐾❤️ I have a flexible schedule and am available for daytime and evening drop-ins, as well as weekends. I’m happy to work around your schedule and your pet’s routine, whether they need a quick potty break, a walk, some playtime, or extra snuggles while you’re away! I have a spacious, open yard with a zip line for supervised outdoor play and plenty of room for your pup to get some exercise and fresh air. I’m also comfortable with crate training and can crate your pet when needed or as part of their normal routine.

I am very reliable and safe and come from a dog family. I will love and care for your dog like I it is my own. My children are now in middle school and high school and they love dogs as well. I can provide loving and affection for your dog and care for it like it was my own. I hope to hear from you soon Taking care of a pet just becomes part of my everyday flow. You feed them, take them out or clean up after them, and make time to play or cuddle a bit. Most days involve quick things like feeding and walks, while once a week you might do a deeper clean or grooming. It’s not too hard once you get into a rhythm—it just becomes routine. I make sure pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for, whether they’re in my home or a client’s. That includes feeding them on schedule, giving them fresh water, and making time for walks, play, or snuggles—whatever they need to feel happy and relaxed. I stick to their usual routine as much as possible to keep things familiar. If I’m in a client’s home, I also make sure everything stays clean and tidy, and I always send updates so they know their pet is doing great. I also have a fenced in yard.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
94% of sitters in Yorkshire can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Yorkshire home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Yorkshire.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Yorkshire sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
